  • Can you get sheet music for this? Please reply

  • This video goes great with Hans Zimmer's "A Dream Is Collapsing".

  • You got to have respect for the original, since the whole idea started there. But I honestly prefer this version. Actors are better. In this movie Wonka had chocolate-colored hair, rather than being a blond, and I really liked Charlie in this movie, as supposed to the first. In this, he seems so sweet. I honestly hated the original Charlie actor. I swear he was the world's most annoying piss-head and I cringed every time he went, "Hey, Grandpa! Look at this!" More intense opening, as well.

  • @peacemaker2233 Roald Dahl apparently hated the original. So much so that he demanded that they not make the sequel. I know the the original is classic and terrific, but maybe he would've lked this a little more.

  • The thing that concerns me is how Willy Wonka got that high off the ground to put the golden ticket

  • i bet someone ate a wonka bar and said, "this is piss, piss with ink"

  • Best movie opening EVER.

  • I think that the ticket willy wonka tapped was Charlie's ticket.

  • @applefan2151 It wasn't, Charlie opened a Chocolate bar that had a brown wrapper on it. The one Willy Wonka tapped was wrapped in a red wrapper.

  • @canofchessetime I agree too!! Helena Bonham Carter is one of my favorite actresses ever!!!

  • Yeah mermaids i get it...

  • And the book offcurce I dont read books

  • this is a genius MOVIE

  • is tere 3d Graphics used in the intro it looks like it allot.

This intro is Kinda Creepy when i first watched the movie at the intro.

  • My favorite part is at 3:07 (part here that girl does the hum thing).

  • 0:25 reminds me Alice in Wonderland! :D

  • The new is 1000 times better than the old one.

  • I like to think the ticket Willy Wonka tapped was the one Charlie got.

  • I personally did not like the original at all. This one makes me happy every time.

  • the orginal is better in almost every respect except visuals and score

  • Based on the book by Roald Dahl!!! Hell yea you go Roald!!!

  • This movie was so underrated... It was so unique and wonderful....

  • @battymu

    agreed...amen brother..

    LOVE THIS MOVIE! <3

  • LOVE THIS! So beautiful.

  • LOVE this!

  • @Airking1105 Although I totally see what you're saying, don't be a party pooper-- go with the magic! :D

  • this theme gives me chills

  • @LudiSmashO a lot of this movie did, don't know why

  • @msbforever the original did too

  • 4 people are going to swell up...like blueberries :)

  • the opening in here is better than the original. though they are both good

  • I really wanner eat some chocolate right now

  • loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it

  • Anyone else reminded of the Doctor Who theme?

  • Wow, Danny Elfman is a genius. This music suits the story PERFECTLY!!

  • you can almost feel his crazyness with this theme

  • so evil i love it

  • I love Tim Burtons films opening credits, theyre always so creative and give an excellent opening to the film.

  • the orchestrated music mixed with those digital wahs make this all the better.

  • ditto ppls Danny Elfman is AWESOME!!!!

  • Danny Elfman's song to this movie captures the dark, factory, & chocolate-like feel to it, & the new version is infinite times better than the shitty 70s one mainly because it follows the book better, is dark, give some morals, & has better acting, effects, & casting choices.

Only God & my siblings know how much I HATE the old one.

  • i wonder how he makes pixie sticks?COUSE I WANT MORE.

  • I'd like to think chocolate Zombies will take over the world with this music...

  • I wonder what would happen if danny elfman played zelda music.

  • the crazy music 0:58 - 1:48 reminds me of Bellatrix Lestrange!

  • @digitbvj5. Yeah!

  • @digitbvj5 funny because her actress is in this movie too, that's what I was sorta thinking though too :-)

  • @digitbvj5 Creepy thing is the actress who plays Bellatrix is in this movie O_O

  • @robloxfan459 Well, yeah, it's a TIM BURTON film, you think she wouldn't be?

  • @digitbvj5 Ironic, really, because Helena Bonham Carter played Charlie's mom in this.

  • The scene with all the chocolate being made with this theme playing makes me think it's making some kind of monster of weird experiment.

  • @TheCuteKitten123 inspiration by Vincent price mainly, he got fired from disney for creating "frankenweenie" which costs too much money, and was too scary for kids, awesome right :P

  • Veruca, Augustus, Mike, and Violet pressed dislike.

  • I wonder if they'll do "The Great Glass Elevator" as a sequel? That'd be cool.

  • @thephoenixforce suposedly, the producers and part of the cast wanted to made the sequel based on "The Great Glass Elevator", but now seems very dificult, cause has been passed five years (How quickly pass the time!), and I know Tim Burton is reticent to work in sequels after his experience in Batman´s franchise. Its a pity, it would be great to see the Verisious Knids and the space hotel in a Burton´s style.

  • I love Roald Dahl books, they are the only ones I can enjoy reading.

  • Too bad Roald Dahl died before he could see his work be made right. :(

  • @TheTrollAmongUs

Well because of the way the old one was made it angered him so much for how child friendly it was that Roald decided that he didn't want another movie adaption to be made of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory during his lifetime. After he passed, his widow and daughter decided to have a proper movie adaption of it made and this took some time but eventually they made it to Tim Burton and this is the end result. The old one had others in creative control and bombed, this one not.

  • @Flash9230 I know about this haha. It's similar to C.S. Lewis' situation. He hated the British TV series so much. It's too bad that the true adaptations aren't given until after the author/original dies. I think C.S. Lewis made it sure he didn't want an adaptation while he was still living, too. Not completely sure on that, though.

  • how would someone dislike this. the power of the song with the incredible short tour=amazing opening!

  • Love it! Thanks a lot for posting!

  • Thing is, I didn't know those were small bars until I watched this like a hundred times.

  • Danny Elfman is the man!

  • but still good music.

  • music<3333333333

  • THIS IS MY FAVORITE MOVIE. WHO'S WITH ME??????

  • Best bit of the film.

  • Lol they were showing this on TV the other day, and I had to go grab a chocolate bar while this was playing. Yum.

  • I'm eating a big chocolate bar while watching this :D

  • There's a hospital near where I live that has a tower bult just like that. I can't help but think of this scene whenever I see it.

  • I love Danny Elfman and this song exemplifies why. I also prefer Tim Burton's version of the movie, because not only is it more faithful to the book, but because the original was too light and saccharine. Whereas Roald Dahl's work is pretty dark, and that's the way his film adaptations should be.

  • @NobodyC13 tahts exactly what I think xD

  • this version is way better than the original with gene wilder.... <3

  • @DoYouFearDeath333 This version isnt as creative. The other one was in my opinion better.

  • Roald Dahl's daughter actually said that, if her dad has still been alive to see this film he would of preferred it cause it followed his original story. He was never to keen on the old version. I'd have the new one any day! x

  • three people have forgotten how it feels like when you're eating a wonka chocolate :))

  • I just love the beginning titles, i like the whole factory thing :)

  • sounds exactly like batman 1 and 2(ones directed by tim buton). and Edward scissor hands.

  • Who came here from TV tropes?

  • @Gogoroth2 Hahahahaha yeah no kidding.

  • the opening of this film had me very excited. then i watched the rest of it...and i still liked the original movie better >.> it's just too funny and unique, hehe....

  • Graphics are done by Asylum

  • 3 people apparently dont like candy

  • also, i just want everyone to keep in mind that both of these versions are warner brothers movies, so they have that relationship in common.

  • @potterbond Well, they are now both owned by Warner, but the 1971 film was funded by Quaker Oats and distributed by Paramount.

  • hmm , can anyone remember when this film was made they sold willy wonka chocolate bars n stuff.

I used to love the chocolate coated jelly tots things :')

  • Now watch this while listening the Protest the Hero - Bone Marrow (Instrumental).

  • This is crazy. Reminds me of Alice's Theme also from Danny Elfman.

  • love this :D

  • Is there a title for this song, or was it composed for this movie?

I feel the same way about this opening as that of the Deathly Hallows audiobook: I really enjoy the music, but I can't find an audio-only copy of the specific track, or even a title.

  • @tinynewtman In the album "Charlie And The Chocolate Factory - Original Soundtrack" by Danny Elfman it's simply called "Main Titles".

  • @tinynewtman it was composed for the movie (obviously) and, like most scores, is released on CD. it's called "Main Titles" on the album.

  • 0:48

  • what the big deal is in 0:47

  • Nice intro but... eh.

I'm going to get sworn at by some preteen kid if I voice my opinion...

  • @yoshinibble123 lol agreed.

  • a better film then the first.

  • When I saw this on the big screen by eyes were like saucers!

  • What is that epic music!?! It's awesome!

  • lol you can see that they dont float in air! you can see the string. they try to make it look like they rly float its a good idea for the imaginary chocolate factory

  • @nobloxinroblox Uh, think you're SUPPOSED to se the strings. This is CGI animation by the way. If it were real and strings were used, they could be digitally removed. But if they didn't use strings, think of it, any of those floaters would fly off to some other direction. They can't go the same way everytime if they had no strings. The strings help them as their guides, get it?

  • the original intro makes me hungry

  • Fincher should use this song in the opening sequence "The Social Network", that movie about Facebook =D. Sounds sort of evil.

  • @ManuABG lol that would be hilarious

  • About the whole remake vs. original. I personally think that a person's preference is correlated with their generation. It's because they have grown up into watching THAT Willy Wonka. I could honestly say, that I like the remake better. The set design for the original movie did not captivate me to be an epitomy of crazy imagination. The house in here is very Dahl. I liked the family in here better, I thought the characters were more energetic, and they made the ticket seem more valuable.

  • This is vaguely Doctor Who-ish....

  • I like the part where they show Willy's hand, giving out the golden tickets! You don't expect him!

  • The original was best for a few reasons, the most prominent of which was Gene Wilder.

  • this song would work for ANY movie! :O

  • Reminds me of Doctor Who...

  • @Lizzilolaphobia same!

  • Danny Elfman a God of Music

  • willy wonka is a pedo xD

  • This was way better then the original opening!

  • You can always tell a Danny Elfman song when you hear it. ALWAYS.

  • @Sothie, if Tim Burton is directing it, Danny Elfman will always be the composer, LOL. ;D

  • Imagine this in IMAX 3D... :D SOMEONE CALL WARNER BROS like... NOW!

  • I really like this version because it's quite menacing and faithful to the book. The original was still good, but it was too slow and jolly for me.

  • the original had more imagination.

  • @crapfactoryfilms and more Gene Wilder.

  • Like the song, but the movie was adequete at best. Too many special effects and much creepier. Just can't beat the original, in my opinion.

  • This version is so much better than the original

  • i LOVE this movies, i HATE HATE HHAATTEE the original, its so retarded!!!!!!!!!

no offense to those who like it, this is just MY opinion

  • Tim Burton creates the vision, Danny Elfman creates the tone. Altogether it is a dark a very dark factory willy wonka owns.

  • i like this version better because its more based on the book

  • This is my favorite track from the album. It's so moving and . . . just plain awesome.

  • my favorite movie intro of all times

  • Yay Danny Elf-Ears!!!!! I luv the opening so much!

  • you gotta love the fact that every one prefers this creepy remake over the original. this movie has a few things about it that are really cool (the music). but i think the original 70s version is a better movie. you gotta love Gene Wilder.

  • this is so amazing...can't get over how genius danny and tim are together

  • I like this music way better than the old version's and no i haven't seen the old version but i heard the music

  • I love this score, and this movie i mean its not the best movie i've seen it is a favorite though i used to hate this movie but i like it better every time i watch

  • goof for you

when CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY comes up in letters start the move away have alook at the bottom a piece isnt moving

  • This is like the opening of Sweeney Todd where it shows you how to make the pies. It's brilliant with it's eerie atmosphere. I'd prefer to eat chocolate though :)

  • I love this movie, but a part of me still hangs on to Gene Wilder for his original performance.

  • I enjoyed this movie a heck of alot more than the original one. I actually heard somewhere that Roald Dahl himself disliked the original one because it was too happy where as his books are always dark. I always enjoy watching Tim Burton's movies because of how dark they are. That's why Tim Burton is the perfect guy to be directing a movie based on a Roald Dahl book.

  • @bart11114 totally agree!

  • @bart11114 Roald Dahl didn't like the first one because ,apparently, it focused too much on Willy Wonka. And if you think about it, it wasn't very peaceful, the Scary Tunnel for one, then Charlie and his grandpa nearly die. This movie was just as bright so.... yeah.

  • It's really difficult to say which "Charlie and the chocolate factory" is better. I would say there almost even if not for the great screen play and visuals and Johnny's brilliant acting.

  • I love the music, it's kinda creepy but cool too, one of his best movies in my opinion

  • thanks for sharing. Nowadays, for me, is one of my favorate films!

  • timmity timmity BOM BOM BOM nah nah nah BOM BOM dim dim dim BOM BOM BOM

  • the new movie is so much better then the old one! this is my favorite movie ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! luv this song!

  • I wish Alice in wonderland had a great musical opening as well, but Disney controlled Burton's film.

  • @cutegirl00179 - Absolutely agree as well. I was surprised when it just went straight into the film without the usual elaborate journeying opening credits sequence... and urrrhhh, some sugary pop princess song to begin the end credits! How Burton-esque (rolls eyes).

  • @deanduke27 I hope Tim Burton doesn't work with Disney anytime soon. Warner Bros, is the place for him, cause they just sign him a check and say, "Here you go Tim, have fun!"

  • @cutegirl00179 Well, we know Frankenweenie will be Disney because that is the second 3D film in his contract with them. I have a feeling that it will be more 'Igor' than 'Corpse Bride'.

  • Great Cast! Love: Johnny, Helena, David, Missi, AnnaSophia, Liz and Christopher!

  • i love tis song. my elementary school is doing the play of this movie. I love everything about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

  • Comment removed

  • keep it up danny!

  • i have this song on my ipod

    i love it

  • @boffgirl so do i! lol.

  • I've always wanted to try an actual Wonka bar =o

  • thay used to sell them

u could find golden tickets in them aswell :D never found a ticket tho but thay still tasted amazing

    xx

  • I think they have some in the american Toys R' Us'

  • Nestle' makes them :D

  • omg danny elfman what a DUDE!
