  • The rumour is that we are playing this lovely piece in our orchestra in 2012. This second violin hopes so.

  • No one could transmit the music of Delius better than Sir Thomas Beecham. Of the many recordings, this one is surely perfection! - John Austin, Australia

  • I like very much this quiet piece, very beautiful.

    Thank you.

  • absolutey incredibly ....unbelievably beautiful...sad andbeautiful true but perfect

  • beautiful,just so right.

  • I love Delius. And I remember I heard this yesterday when I was sitting watching the sky in the car with one of my cats. She even stopped to listen for a moment. :-)

  • Delius Piano Sonata on U Tube now.

  • Stunning. I set this piece to continuous loop for hours...never tire of hearing the tonal and harmonics come together. Delius is one of the most underated composers ever in my humble opinion. Thank you for posting.

  • As sad and beautiful as life itself.

  • Just lovely, this is the piece of music that turned me on to the music of Delius 30 years ago. It always stops me in my tracks. As has been said he was a true original.

  • D I V I N A L!!!

  • thank you!

  • Beecham and Delius, the unbeatable combination! For me, the music of Delius is the aural equivalent of a Maxfield Parrish painting. Delius was one of the great originals in music; nobody else's music sound as his; other great originals would include Debussy, Mussorgsky, Berlioz, and...?

  • Respighi?

  • What about him? Fountains of Rome is a beautiful piece. But this is by Delius, isn't it?

i like your combination of Delius and Parrish. It's strange cause a lot of people find their art sentimental, honeyed and usually i can't stand sentimental and honeyed artist or the idealized art of preraphaelites painters, and certainly i don't like sentimental music. But there is a quality in the harmonies of Delius and in the colors and light of Parrish that is simply beautiful and is beyond mere sentimentality, and they are despite of my tastes, between my favorite artists.
