@SkinnyBabe38, Xavier Cugat was Catalan! plus so you'll know Cuban Americans are the most prosperous and successful group in America. The neighborhoods they inhabit in Miami include some of the priciest real estate in town. The mayor of the City of Miami is a Cuban, as is the mayor of Dade County. Two Cubans represent the city in the U.S. House of Representatives,President of FIU and Miami-Dade College are Cubans. Banks, Real Estate Moguls, Newspaper, and, yes, doctors and lawyers are Cuban.
@SkinnyBabe38 , You are wrong about Cubans!! They are not free-loaders; good-for-nothing bums! Why are you so ignorant? Upon arriving in Havana in Jan. of 1959 Che Guevara Like Stalin’s massacre of the Polish officer corps in the Katyn forest, Che’s (Castro-ordered) firing squad marathons were a perfectly rational and cold-blooded exercise that served their purpose ideally. This bloodbath decapitated – literally and figuratively–the first ranks of Cuba’s Contras.
@SkinnyBabe38 Cugat was not a cuban; he was a French descendant born in Catalugna Spain; he only lived in Cuba for some very few forgetable years in his early life. Please don't try to eufemize those noisy, free-loaders; good-for-nothing bums! Cubans: "The only people in the history of the world that did not fight for therir country".
Nice song....Brings back good memories to my parents and friends that visited Cuba in early years and Fidel was not in power. The pictures they have of Cuba back then rock big time....but now they won't go to Cuba because Fidel is no good.
@LiannaRodriguez .....Their memories are way before Batista and Castro....and Cuba was the nicest island to visit....All Americans that use to go to Cuba agree on this fact....and also that Batista was a dirt bag and Castro another dirt bag that destroyed Cuba .....Because of this they will never set foot on Cuba again....Castro sucks and I feel sorry for all the Cubans that had to leave their country but at least here they have a better life....US the land of opportunity.
@SkinnyBabe38 This is what you wrote: "Cubans that had to leave their country but at least here they have a better life....US the land of opportunity." Correction: Cubans did not have to leave Cuba; in fact: they had THE OBLIGATION to fight for their land but instead -very conveniently- decided to come to The United States to free-load. For some The United States is not a country of oportunity; but a country of OPORTUNISTIC bums.
Thankyou so much again YOUTUBE for getting to know the result of my request. I thought that I was a lucky guy in this world and I found out the old fashioned great song for the small size black record and got it in the back street shop finally. I don't get worry about and happy ending of my life now.
In the winter of 1948 my mom went to Miami with my younger brother because he was sickly. I played this record over and over for 3 weeks until they returned. I can never get tired of this song.
Back in the late forty's, on one particular day my aunt and mom taught a bunch of shoppers in Unger's grocery store in South Fallsburgh N.Y. how to do the Rhumba--and the record she played on a portable 78 was this version.
Although I loved this number, the B side was my favorite--"Come to the Mardi Gras". Anyone have a copy of it?
i've listened to the 1956 abbe lane version for decades--when i got this on a 45 i finally figured out the line'but i got all its atmosphere'(abbe's version is a bit hard to understand)
