  • this or akg k450?

  • When I'm on a bus the sound is trebled but when I turn off the noise canceling its fine. Does this happen to anyone?

  • @JulianRamos1995 Get new batteries

  • anyone experience a weird pounding on the right ear when you turn your head to the side?

  • Buying some on eBay for $60 bucks. Almost got them just five mins left

  • Ahhhhhwww I payed half price for these headphones and I still don't think they're worth the price.... i'll sum them up in one word "weak", the bass is non existant and they cant even handle acoustic piano songs without muffling. shocking.

  • hows the bass say compared to the Beats

  • @Josh23killzone54 Never tested out those, so I am not sure ... but given the large price difference, I'd hope 'BEATS' by dre have a better base.

  • good for drums?

  • i need your help. should i get these or beats by dre solo HDs. get back at me a.s.a.p pleasEE

  • hey um I can use this for a iPod touch right ? Thanks

  • can you listen to music without having the noise-cancelling feature activated?

  • @xNYxHocKeY10 Yes.

  • I have the same pair and one side broke at the slider at top of the ear cup. I called Sony and they replaced them free of charge. Early models seem to have this problem. I have recently purchased the Sony MDR-NC500D and they are much better. They both sound Great but the 500D does a better job of N/C. I have the Bose Aviation headset A20 and they claim to use the same technology as the QC15. Thay work good but I sure wish Sony made an Aviation headset with 500D technology, they N/C much better.

  • do you know the exact amount of noise in decibals ,

    cancelled by them ? :)

  • $125.00 on amazon.

  • mine are coming tommorow :D

  • ordered mine now!

  • man i have sony heavybass ear buds. i have been using them for a year now. great quality for $15.00

  • Do those headphones have a mike on them like dr dre beat solos?

  • @snowball56783 No Mic, sorry

  • If you buy the Bose Quietcomfort then your a tard for $150 the headphones are amazing and nearly $250 less then the Bose! Both headphones are really good but cmon guys wake the fuck up $400 FOR HEADPHONES!... I have also tried both as my Uncle has the Bose... Get the Sony MDR NC60 and dont forget the rechargeable batterys (AAA) as they eat them like crazy!

  • Nice review, I bought them and I not disappointed thank you

  • these sound really good. i ordered a pair on ebay, nice review dude.

  • I got mine for $70 but my case wasn't as nice (didn't have the pouch inside)

  • good review. i'm just wondering how you think that these headphones stand up to the monster beats by dre (if you have ever used them).

  • Wen u put those on it feels lik u slowed everything down or lik u died or sumthing. They tight

  • @k0rn56 Quite a while, 20 hours I'd guess with a nice lithium battery

  • Awesome review! I'm sold :D

  • these r really clear but the bass is muddy as hell. definitely not good bass

  • whats the difference between those headphones and the MDR-NC500d

  • one of the best purchases iv ever made. i got them for xmas 1 year ago. they work perfectly still. There is almost no sound leak and the noise canceling is great. I highly recomend these,

  • I've had these headphones for a year, and I picked them thanks to this review. I loveeee them!!!

  • While air travel / home use

  • Which one do you think between the bose QC15, beats from Dr Dre, or this sony NC60. Please tell me i cant decide man. Help me out. Can you send me a message on here sometimes i dont check the comments. Appreciate it man.

  • After my NC60's snapped, I can't say I am very pleased they constructed them cheaply at a key area. I'd go with the Bose personally, they are really nice, Dr. Dre's are SO over priced and not worth it.

  • Hey thanks for the feedback dude, i really appreciate it. I think i will just go with the Bose. They sound like the best deal. You got to pay for the quality and thats alright with me.

  • Having gone through 2 pairs of Bose headphones (both over the ear and now the QC3's) that snapped while in a case inside my travel bag (had each for just under a year), I picked up a pair of these about 14 months ago and haven't had any problems.

Bose's quality is in its marketing. They market better than anybody else but they do NOT produce a product that justifies the premium that you pay.

  • @mctrees02 Very true. I used to work with a Bose Rep, their marketing skills are impeccable, but their products usually only offer middle of the road performance compared to high end stuff audio systems, for example.

  • Sennheiser PXC 350!

  • do they leak much sound when listening to music

  • Not much, but everything does leak sound

  • No, they are not.

  • I seriously need to buy one of these. I've read so many reviews about it, all of them were good if not great. Good review!

  • MDR-NC60 or the ATH-ANC7. I don't know which one to get.

  • Thanks that was helpful. I can't decide whether to get these Sony or the Creative Aurvana x-fi ones.

  • thanks for this review...

ive been researching headphones for about 2 weeks now.. i tried these on and they are fantastic.. but are they durable? also, have you ever tried the mdr7506 model? i have it down between these two, and just wanted to see what you thought .. thanks man

  • You said there about $40 at retail stores. Every store I look them up on they are $120 from instant savings on $199. Nice headphones I'd agree, but pricey?

  • Misheard me, these certainly carry a MSRP of $200. Pricey? Yes, but for someone who frequents airports/planes/buses/car rides these are up their alley. I will be reviewing a $60 pair of headphones soon!

  • The ONLY thing i dont like is the comfort.....if u use them for more than 1 hour they hurt...

  • Maybe it all comes down to head shape? I have a new pair I will review soon. But they are not on the high end, but do sound good.

  • I have these but i find they make an annoying noise when you walk with them so i just splashed out on the mdr nc500. They look incredible, i will tell you what they sound like. If anyone is interested in buying my old nc60's message me cause i am selling them on ebay.

  • $200 dollars!!!!!!

  • just bought these on amazon, and now im even more excited about getting them, thanks for the review. so stoaked to listen to clear music without having ear buds shoved in my ears.

  • When you finally get them in the mail tell me how they sound!

  • they are really good, i travel several times a year but i got these just to listen to my music at home on my computer, i was sick of listening to just the crappy computer speakers, and these are amazing, they just like put you in your own world, and amazon had them for only 120 bucks.

  • Good deal! Congrats~

  • I love these headphones, amazingly loud and quiet.

  • I agree :]

  • hows the bass?

  • Surprisingly great. It could be better, but I'm being very picky when I say this. They have fantastic clarity too.

  • Can you please enable embed...I would really love to put your video on my Blog, it's dedicated to head phones and reviews. Thanks

  • I'm very protective of my content, because of how YouTube currently embed's video its not something I will allow for now.

  • I have a Sony MDR-NC40 and I already broke it (I'm not very carefull :p) Nice headphone, but when actived you hear the wind even more than turned off. Plus, the it is not very loud, I need to put my MP3 player (a Zen Creative) at almost half capacity to hear my music clearly when I'm in the car. So I wonder...Does your headphone has the same problem? Thanks for your response.

  • These actually boost audio level a tad when its noise canceling is activated...that or it sounds like it does since it cancels outside sounds so well.

As far as wind, these perform WAY better then cheaper Sony models. It doesn't amp. up the wind sound. But I've not done much real world testing for wind honestly to say if it will cancel it out any.

  • great review. very informative.

I cant choose between these and the Audio Technica ATH-7s.

Anyone have a pair of ATH-7, any advice??

    Thanks

  • great review my friend. I am just about to order some on amazon. Yeah!!!!

  • Thanks!

  • Only advice is try another source of sound like an iPod.

  • could you use it with the blackberry storm?

  • If it uses a standard headphone jack (1/8") then yes.

  • No they don't.

  • Thanks, yes it can.

  • cool review

  • Shouldn't take more then a few days use for headphones to break in I'd imagine. On mine I honestly don't notice any distortion from the lower stuff, but I can't stay I listen to music that is as bass heavy as some rap/rock.

  • great review thx lol

  • so these completely cover your ear? that's the one thing i worry about

  • They do, which means you can wear them for hours without any discomfort [which is caused by cheap ones which smash your ears against your head]

  • i think that over-ear headphones are better then on-ear headphones too, i got the Skullcandy Lowriders and the speakers are kinda small and since i wear glasses it squeezes my ears up against them and it gets kinda painful after awhile.

  • Sold...thanks

  • Your welcome, still love mine after almost a year of having them. :]

  • Just bought 'em through DAKmart for $98

  • As good as Bose is, I'm not going out and spending as much as an iPod for HEADPHONES!!! Come on, how much do you hate people to completely shun them out.

  • These are made by Sony [did you not listen to the review before commenting?]. Regardless, clearly there is a market for such headphones as they kept being made by many companies! Those who fly a lot, enjoy premium audio quality and a comfortable fit [for hours] will see the value in these. Just because you can't afford a Ferrari doesn't mean they shouldn't be made.

  • im getting those YAY!!!

    good review!

  • Can they work on an zune and a ipod nano

  • Yeah

  • i bought this head phones today, i also think they are great considering they are my first pair of noise canceling head phones. i got them for 149 dollars in an apple store, they were ironically 199 dollars in the sony store less than 100yards away.

like your review, couldnt have put it better myself :P

  • Thanks ^_^)

  • how many db does a full bowling mean?

  • I feel like a bit of an idiot but I just realised that the ones Im getting from ebay are actually the MDR-NC6 not MDR-NC60.

The MDR-NC6 still have noise canceling which is good. Im just annoyed that I didnt notice this before and that sony has to have model numbers so similar.

They still havent arrived yet either. It has been 2 weeks, If they dont get here on monday I will be contacting the seller.

  • Ok, I have had them for 2 weeks or so now, and they are VERY good. If these are the cheap ones and they are this good, the NC60 must be awesome.

  • Thx 4 reviewin =D

  • And just another question, how long does the battery normally last?

  • At least 20, I'd say probably 30. The battery life is VERY good.

  • 20 hours?

  • Yes, hours. PS: Just looked it up and its rated at 30 and that seems about right.

  • That is very good battery life

  • recommended retail: $200

    Ebay: $50

EBAY IS THE BEST WEBSITE EVER!

Im getting one of these from ebay, it seems like they are very good. Im VERY happy to see that you can remove the cable, because if the cabe gets damaged, you pretty much have to throw them away. I have been wanting to get a decent set of headphones for ages but I have never gotten around to it. I will be using them for video games and a movie now and then so they should be perfect.

  • Be careful, I have access to margin data thanks to my job and these are worth much more then $50 dollars! Buying used maybe?

  • No, they are new but they are from a seller in china, so thats probably why they are cheap.

  • The Sony headphones from China for $50 will be counterfeit knock-offs.

  • Very good review. Cheers mate.

  • Thanks man~!

  • Great review mate, I was just wondering if you know whether the jack will fit into the first generation iPhone? I hear there has been a lot of trouble with headphones not made by Apple or Bose... thanks a lot.

  • You will need an adapter to fit it because the jack on the 1st gen iPhone is recessed in the phone, cost like 2 cents on Ebay and your set.

  • Mine snapped! Its definitely not worth that much.

  • Contact Sony and try and get it replaced if it was bought within 90 days. Otherwise your outta luck for a free replacement (which in that case I'd ask how much a repair would cost) :(

  • I got it as a present at the end of January 2008 (shows how reliable they are with their plastic hinges). I am going to get the receipt and replace them :). Wish me luck with Sony support.

  • really good review as usual, i dont know if they're worth $200 tho.
