I always use Zidane (duh), Vivi, Freya, and Eiko for this fight. Freya's Dragon Crest does some mad damage, and so does Eiko's Holy. The late-game high-end equipment you can find for Vivi from the Choco Hot and Cold game and from Synthing, if you set it up right, makes him invulnerable. :P The second time I beat the game all my characters were down but Vivi, and everything Necron did attack-wise healed him. XD

Sephiroth is so overrated and whored out it's almost sickening. Kefka is a much better villain in every way except for overall looks, in which I prefer Seph... but honestly, Sephiroth is as easy if not easier than most other FF bosses.

to me the most challenging final boss in ff will always be zeromus. after all he is one of the 3 last bosses in ff that i lost to kefka and the cloud of darkness being the other 2. zeromus i lost to him more times than any other last boss though. kefka and dark cloud i lost to only once in my first quest.

To be honest Shawnathan, I don't think Sephiroth is that overrated.

I mean there is a very good reason why many people like him. Sephiroth is the only main villain in the series who is a accomplished swordsman, infact he's the best in the FF universe.

All of the other main villains on the series were some kind magic wielder or Magician or Sorceror, but they were not swordsman.

Sephiroth may not be the best magic wielder, but he could pretty much own all other villains in a sword fight.

I agree, Sephiroth really earned his place (as a character) as a final boss. You could see the twisted changes he had undergone throughout the entire game(s). He was a very human character who was despaired over his identity and purpose and went over the edge seeking greater power to do something about it. Almost every other final boss in FF just pops out of nowhere, with no development and no clear reason as to why he is a final boss bent on destruction. What gives?

It was so sudden, incohesive, and non-sequetir. They should have been more creative with the final boss and also should have made him more difficult.

Necron wasnt only a dissapointment....he honestly just shouldn't have existed. They should have just made you fight Kuja one final time, in like Super Trance Trance form or something.

Its like, they had this WTFAWESOMEUBER model for a boss they didnt use in the story, so they were just like "hey lets make it the final boss" and called it a day lol.

Sephiroth was the most epic final boss in FF history. Jecht from FFX definately WOULD have been if they didnt cast Autolife on you. (-_-;)

Ive played tons of RPGs. FFVII is not my favorite RPG, but i have no doubt that it is indeed the greatest RPG ever created. Sephiroth had such a dark and ominous feeling about him in that game that they only really had to mention him for you to feel it. He created an amazing atmosphere, and on top of that he was just awesome.

We just think differently. Second runner up for me isnt even an FF villain.

As an Avid fan of FF6 i used to agree with that i LOVED Kefka. And I have played through FF6 so many times i can probabaly state it to you word for word.

But im Sorry, Sephiroth is the better Villain. He brought a much more Sinister attitude. I sitll love my Kefka though he is my #3, Sephiroth #2, And whoever the ff13 final boss is will be my number 1.

He IS references, though very subtily, by Garland. When he mentions the Lifa Tree while talking to Zidane, he mentions the Soulcage is just 'the material' form. Necron is the real form. :p

Necron is meant to be the spiritual form of the lifa tree. While the soulcage was meant to be a physical mechanism of the lifa tree. It was Necron who hoarded the souls of gaia and replaced them with those of terra. That being said Necron had gained some degree of change from his original programming. After observing Kuja's actions decided that humans desire death and nothingness. Zidane proved otherwise by fighting for "existance" itself.

i just beat this in the most insane way possible: Party of Garnet, Freya, Steiner, and Zidane, all but steiner die early and steiner becomes berzerked so all he can do is attack. He has 1 HP left, and all of necrons spells keep missing him, for 6 ROUNDS!!!! he beat necron all by himself!

alternate tactic used when I was 10,

auto-regen, 1 char with auto-haste(the most damage dealing), use a REALLY LONG summon.

If necron damages you, the summon will heal you all the way up xD

I used the combo odin+boost, worked wonders xD

Choose your equipment carefully?

Use MP Attach and Man Eater on Kuja too

Have some Auto abilities equipped (auto-haste, auto-life, auto-regen) and just keep attacking. It'd be good for you to have auto-reflect on someone or all too so that you can cast magic at the character with reflect on, and it'll bounce to kuja and nullify kujas reflect.

Kuja is reaaally easy, and Necron is too, if you have the right equipment and abilities.

duuude... i remember when i was like 12 (four years ago) i had all my party with auto-reflect!! so i just casted a spell on all my party with vivi and 4 magics would bounce back to my enemy xD

When I did it, I had everyone's ultimate weapons too, apart from Steiners Excalibur II, I only had the Excalibur I. Keep at it though ;)

I used the same characters as you except for amarant, I used vivi instead, but you should be fine with Amarant. :)

Woah! I've never used Amarant and Steiner against Necron. I always have Zidane, Eiko, Quina then usually Freya or Vivi. But Amarant is my weakest character thanks to that status thing that stops people leveling up. Yay! Zidane finished off the battle! I always make him do that, I have this weird thing where the main protaganist must finish off fights so YAY! You fought pretty well!

Well, Could you help me with that boss. I'm lvl 39-41, and i use Zidane, AMarant, Dagger and Freya... But i always lose... That **** Starts using 3 or 4 movements in a row... ( Like protect, Flare, Blue light, and then Some -ga spell to all... It kills 2 of my charecters... So any tips?

Auto-life's very useful so i'd try to have that on every character, auto-regen's good too so you can heal while there's a long animation, Grand Cross puts a lot of statuses on your characters so defend against as many as you can especially things like clear headed, jelly and body temp, it's probably quite hard on those levels so if you still can't do it you can use Odin on some yans and level up quickly like that =D
