You can tell it was a doomed landing from the start. He came in very fast and you can count about 8 seconds till his spoilers came up and he didn`t touch down till halfway down that runway. If i was him i would of have aborted landing and give it a second try.
Dude most of the people bitching about Boeing, including Airbus, wouldn't be around if it wasn't for them. They made the planes that saved the asses of Europe and Asia. That's alright don't have to say thanks.
This is very similar to the Air France A340 crash in Toronto in 2005. Exactly the same cause (landing far down the runway in a storm), except that instead of hitting structures it fell down a ravine. Many were hurt, some seriously, and the FUSELAGE burned completely, leaving the broken wings unburned. A few metres more and the fuselage would have ploughed into a massive concrete pier. Combination of bad tower advice, bad pilot judgment and bad runway configuration (ravine at end of runway).
its not only Boeing fault, there are also other factors such, mechanical errors and pilot errors. some of mechanical errors mostly are human errors. anyways no one is perfect because if we blame a company for killing people, then we can blame major tobacco, alcohol and car companies for killing millions of people. even dough is the user fault.
All kinds of things can go wrong in the air... you can't blame Boeing. Boeing accounts for most of the passenger aircraft. It's only natural that they'd have a high number of fatalities. I fly dude, ANYTHING can go wrong.
And now the best: Total Lives Killed by Boeing. Boeing 707: 2733 killed. Boeing 717: OK. Boeing 720: 175 killed. Boeing 727: 3702 killed. Boeing 737: 3272 killed. Boeing 747: 2850 killed. Boeing 757: 467 killed. Boeing 767: 569 killed. Boeing 777: OK. Total Killed= 13.708 Americans like everything huge...WOW.
it is a sad truth that 61 percent of all plane crashes are "boeing" (proportional)
first 5'000 dead passengers, you can say: coincidence or whatever
somebody who still believes - after 10'000 dead passengers - that these are not human errors caused by boeing (or related) should keep flyin boeing - mostly passengers survive, don't worry...
You are a fucking idiot. How long has Boeing been around? Why don't you look at the number of people who die from car crashes...do you want those manufacturers to stop making cars? I can't stand idiots like you. Do us all a favor and jump of a fucking bridge.
But you have to understand the causes of each crash that resulted in a death, it's not always the aircraft for the most part it's the pilots or ATC or something else. Also Boeing has been around longer than Airbus and are more reliable than an Airbus aircraft that's why more airlines and companies buy Boeing over Airbus.
where have you heard that Airbus is more reliable? Other than what I said, Boeing has been around longer and a lot of companies use Boeing aircrafts so Boeing might have more incidents than Airbus... if what I said doesn't make sense, please respond it's late and I can't really remember what I was talking about :-)
Just like getting off an Ethiopian airlines flight at luanda airport in Angola,..!

YEP...then we consider that the 737 has created more deads thab the whole Airbus Fleet in their service history:
The Killer Boeing 737: 4.779 killed.
Airbus: 2.018 deads.
PD: 3.272 killed by the Boeing 737 since first A320 flight ...IOL...still ahead of Airbus totals...
American terrorism: Boeing.

Just read your comment, hope you read the stats the other fella gave you.. You are one dumb idiot that cant understand math :-)
ollycopter 4 years ago
It's because small companies like buying VERY old 737's already in not too good state, and not caring about technical checks too much.

@HaggisPowah this is a late response, but 95% of incidents are pilot error, no matter what manufacturer
