When you think of all the sopranos that have recorded this aria over the last 100 years this performance really goes in the top 1%. Only Price, Ponselle and a handful of others equal Mitchell's technical, musical and emotional mastery of this music.

Whoa, I did not know that her career spanned all the way back to the black and white television days. She does not look that old in the Turandot with Domingo and Marton.

@ykaiilah Dear, her career began during the 70's not during the black and white TV era. She was blest to be chosen often to partner with all the great singers....Pavarotti, Domingo, Carreras etc., because she is a phenomenal singer and artist too !!!!
