  • Yeah, sorry!

    It's a great song!

    :)

I just lose focus when I write about anything to do with Bowie!

    I want more!

  • Thanks, I appreciate it!

  • I just heard James Brown - Hot (I Need To Be Loved, Loved, Loved, it's the same as Bowie's "Fame". So Mr Bowie took the instrumental/cover. Ok, I'm gonna remix it now!

    I holler back.

  • I know that track too...I think Bowie did "Fame" first as an hommage to JB (my dear friend and mentor Dennis Davis played drums on the original) and then JB ripped off "Fame" to reclaim what was rightfully his in the first place...Respect, Kaspar Galli

  • From what research I've done, the riff from 'Fame' was written by Bowie's then guitarist Carlos Alomar, who wrote it when he was playing in James Brown's band. x

  • "Fame" was recorded Jan.'75 during Lennon's "Across The Universe" sessions, hence Lennon's collaboration (distorted answer riff). The earliest recorded version of Alomar's muted riff I found on a video of Bowie and his band doing a cover of The Flares' '61 hit "Footstompin'" on "The Dick Cavett Show" Dec/4/74 - and you are right, Alomar did play in JB's band around '68/'69, but to find out the exact moment Alomar came up with this classic riff we would have to ask Carlos himself...Kaspar Galli

  • Great video!!! Very clever and the editing is great. The only thing that would have made this better is if that big mama was beating the crap out of Kim Kardashian or Lindsay Lohan's mother!!!!!!

  • Cool stuff, man - 5 stars!
