NOW stop bitching like little girls and listen up, A float equipped single engine aircraft such as this one will land on grass normally in the morning when there's still dew on the grass, In saying that a small crane will move the aircraft on to a wide flat bet trailer to be serviced in a hanger, When its time to release the aircraft it will be towed (still on the trailer) to the runway and the pulled along at 65 mph or 56 knots and lift-off achieved. This is one method used in Austria :)
That's cute, Junior. Now, back to the kiddie table with you, we adults are having a serious discussion here, too much for your little mind to grasp. And just to show you I'm not a bad, bad parent, I'll let you have some extra Jell-O and stay up until 9 this time.
Oh, dear, did you wet yourself again? *Sigh* Go see Mom...back into diapers with you.
How about you go watch Lambchop and Barney and leave us intelligent people to our friendly, educated conversation, already in progress? Because it's apparently obvious that not only do you lack tact but intelligence as well. Door's that way, loser. ---->
@madisonelectronic And we all know your mother spreads her legs to Iraqis for bus fare and still ends up walking home. Too bad your mother didn't use a rubber 9 months before you were germinated, ya gerbil-dick.
Well done, and I agree. I envy you knowing what you do,a nd doing it. I am a toughlady but was always disuaded from such interests. Follow your longing and your heart. Stay smart and I hope to fly with one of you again!
You guys are ridiculous: First off, the floats have a small but flat keel strip along the bottom; Second, if it was illegal, they wouldn't do it; Third, they inspect the floats afterwards; Fourth, airport grass areas are not soft, rocky farmland. It is not recommended to do what this guy did, but it can be done. I witnessed an emergency grass landing of a floatplane, so it is indeed possible.
Why in the hell is the camera man in the middle of the runway filming????

you don't need a crane...a simple car jack and a pair of 9' long timbers will allow you to jack it up so you can slide a trailer underneath it.

Nicely done here. Actually, a routine procedure for experienced floatplane pilots- so long as you never consider it to be a routine procedure.

It caused an earthquake. Look at the camera shake.

WHY?
cybersoft1 4 years ago
Because it is a straight float plane, not an amphibian (no actual wheels). It would destroy the floats...
They usually pull it on a trailor down the runway to take back off...
millsdo 4 years ago
I was thinking maybe an emergency landing and too far from any water. Thanks for the info!
