I am not a hunter and definately not against it as long as they are used for food.

My question is one of hunting ethics - would it have been wrong for a hunter to shoot/kill the bucks while they were fighting ?

@silentfades That is an excellent question! IMO, as for them fighting being reason not to shoot, no. BUT the reason I wouldn't shoot is there is just too much movement happening to be darn sure of a clean placed shot, and only to shoot the targeted deer and not wound or kill the other ol boy. Yes, in the Texas Hill country. I was guiding a hunter in a wheelchair when this fight broke out. As soon as the one buck ran off, his buck showed up and he got it! A nice 9 point management buck. The hunter has been back since. What an adventure he had coming from Las Vegas to this ranch. Thanks for asking!
