i happen to own a 2 hi points .380 and 9mm, several glocks, and a few lower cal. firearms. i have had 1 jam in probably 2000 rounds with my hi point .380 factor i didnt clean it on purpose to check if rumors are true, also tried this with my glock 17 only took 500 rounds b4 it jammed. i would have to say best buy for ur money considering i paid double for my glock isnt half as reliable!
i have a hi point 380 and a berreta 92fs i do prefer the 92fs but the hi point isn't a bad gun i just hate cleaning it when the 92fs is simple to take apart and whatnot plus it's what i've used with the military so naturally it's grown on me
I recently bought this gun and have fired 500+ rounds thru it without a single jam. I hold a really close group with it . Better than alot of high dollar handguns! A very good deal on a quality handgun! HIPOINT...HELL YEAH!!!
@BASSANDCARGUY219 get a glock 17, browning high power, or a CZ75B. dont be afraid to spend a little extra cash. its worth every penny. and there is a really cool makarov pistol for 200$ that shoots 9x18 mm
For all the people who bitch ,piss, and moan bout this gun . You can go fuck yourself. This is the cheapist realiable gun I have ever had . It may jam every 15 shots or so when I shoot fast . I use this go to shoot and have shot around 1000 rounds out of it so far . I keep on the technical work that it needs and I clean before and after I shoot it . This gun has a nice feel to it and is a small and smaller recoil than my Glock 9mm .
The magazine release is way to easy to push, & it sticks up way too far. In other words, when you holster the pistol, the holster will cause the magazine to pop out! That ain't cool, but it's an easy fix. Just grind down the mag release so that it doesn't stick up so high.
@bloodgunslinger I live in california and got mine online for $120 plus $35 shipping. AuctionArms (dot) com had them on either an auction or you can just buy them outright. Woolbury's Outfitters( may have spelled it wrong) has them. I just got a C-9 and will try it out tomorrow. :D
For anybody looking to purchase one of these bad boys - Ace Hardware (Yes, the Helpful Place) sells these the most out of anyone in the country!
Just picked my c9 up from the Ace Hardware down the street, I was in and out in 30 minutes packing my new pistol with a galco holster.
Ace sells the gun by itself for $124 or optionally you can get a Premium Galco Holster with it made specifically for it, for $145 total (Gun + Holster included)
Add in the 12 bux I spent on a 50 round box of Brass
When the fuck in life would you even need to "Rapid Fire" 200 rounds? And I bet you the hi-point could easily do it. Why the fuck couldnt it? Would it just stop working after the 100th round?
Give us your scientific run-down of the situation you fuckin youtube genius you!
All the personal insults are childish. If these guns were so terrible blowing up in peoples hand of which there is NO PROOF other than people saying "well my friend had one and it blew up", or "I heard from a gun magazine that these blow up"; or they heard from a friend who heard it from a friend who read it in a forum somewhere?
If these were so unsafe, Hi-Point would of been sued into oblivion already!
I own a C9 and it works beautifully. For $150, I have no complaints.
PLEASE HELP i got a hi point 9mm from my brother, he gave it to me it was so bad. it has ftf issues. its one of the earlier models. it will double feed, catch on the feed ramp, and the round will be vertically in between the ramp and slide. ive tried all different ammos and several dif mags. what is wrong with the thing?
no-questions asked warranty. Whether you are the original purchaser, or a third-hand owner, your Hi-Point firearm will be repaired free of charge." hi-pointfirearms website.
as a noob to firearms and shooting in general, I went with the Hi-Point 9MM compact for its affordability and transferable lifetime warranty. I live in Ohio, and paid about $150 for it new. Took it shooting once, and after firing about 60 rounds, I love it. Not much kick, and I'm able to hit what I'm aiming at. The weight dist'n is top heavy, and it seems a bit big for being termed a "compact"...but all the haters I've encountered seem to have never actually fired one. A great first gun.
I really want a Hi-Point 9mm, whats the cost to fire, ammo wise, and hows the company in terms of service? I heard some really bad stories but I dunno if they are exaggerated or not =/
@make1up726 hi point has a great customer service dep. and there warenty is great too just make sure you dont over pay for the gun if some one says 200 keep looking if youre in ohio (where they are made )dont pay more than 150
@make1up726 you can pick up a standard 50rd box for around 17-20 buck...wolf is cheaper, but they use steel cases, the extra thickness needed to strengthen the casing adds about .010 extra to it, therefore causing feed issues with hi-points. Hi-points were built with very strict tolerances , unlike Glock or Springfield, where they are a bit looser(to provide the ability to fire wet, dirty, sandy, etc.) Hi-points are reliable, just not designed to operate in theater, its not a "go to war" option.
I have been looking into purchasing a hi point handgun ever since I bought the 995ts carbine and I was wondering if you had a chance to come up with a full review for one. The carbine may not the best looking gun, but I found it extremely reliable and perfect for home defense. I was hoping to find the same thing in a small gun from them
I have been impressed with my new Hi-Point C9 9mm. I thought it would be junk and a waste of money, but it is a great gun. It is very accurate and reliable.
@andrewvanrhoberts I have a few hipoints and I HIGHLY recommend them... Especially for what you pay, you cant beat it. It is a crude weapon but it is very reliable.
It's really neat how you can see the shock wave ripple up the girl's right arm when she fires. The best one is at 1:04 IMHO. Nice video, thanks for posting.
so people like you can have something to bitch about. What else would you do all day. The only people who complain about the hi-point are the ones who cant shoot anyway. I have owned my for 2 years and never had a problem and oh yeah, ITS AMERICAN MADE!!!!!!!!!
@mimaki0 Please inform us as to why it is such a terrible weapon? Did it ever occur to you that not everyone has a pocket full of money to spend on guns and ammo? Is it so terrible that someone manufactures a weapon that is of low cost and high reliability? If this company is so terrible they would have gone out of business a long time ago, instead they are thriving. If they produced guns that blew up in peoples faces they would have been sued off the face of the earth.
@buryourdead21 Exactly, Lorcin was an actually disaster waiting to happen. How can you not like a company that offers a free lifetime warranty no questions asked?!
@haman2486 I had my mag serviced by beemiller for the feed ramp issue(they have since changed there design) and they sent it back to me fixed, with a free 10rd mag. thats customer service...
@haman2486 I don't think that hi-points are terrible but they are far from perfect. I have seen the guns break down over time. I've even seen the grip separate on one. The ergonomics leave a lot to be desired with a very bulky slide. Also, for as big as the gun is, hi point could have easily made this gun a double stacked gun. That being said, for the shooter on a budget, these are great guns. I think a lot of people over hype the problems with the gun, but for $150 who cares?
@zachk1983 All guns break down over time, ive dumped close to 6000 rounds through my hi-point and it functions as well as it did day 1. I completely agree with you, Hi point could have easily made this a FAR more appealing weapon for little to no extra cost and a slight redesign. A double stack mag would be ideal. for a $150 you can't beat them, especially with the lifetime no questions asked warranty!
@haman2486 preach it son, lol, damn straight. Hi Points are greatly underestimated and so many negative assumtions. I have the 9mm and yea, its not the "prettiest" gun, but I dont want pretty if some crack head or gangsta wanna be is pulling a loaded weapon on me.
i own a hipoint c9 and i initially had problems with jamming only because my gun was new, after about 100 rounds my gun has no jamming issues...i think you just have to break em in, and above all, learn your gun...any gun can jam on you if you hold it with a limp wrist, if you cant control the recoil, etc....so a lot of the times it isn't the gun, its the shooter....just sum food for thought
hi point is junk, bottom line. And i did send it in.They sent it back and even included a spare mag for free. But guess what.Still jams and shoots like shit. What a POS.
@urungutang It is a pure blow back pistol. You have to grip it firm and hold it steady. Limp wrist = jams. If they sent it back, it must have shot well for them. Also, complain again, give them some specifics, and I hear they will send you another one.
I say bullshit to the haters here. I have a C9, and that little thing has NEVER jammed once, with either the 8 or 10 round clip. It feeds every thing I've ever ran through it just fine, even JHPs like the Golden Saber. Even feeds the Remington 9mm NATO rounds perfectly. Yeah, it's a pain in the ass to break down, but so what? It's possible to have the slide removed from a Baretta in a COMBAT situation if an aggressor gets too close and knows how to do it, so I'm cool with a quirky breakdown.
i own a c9 and it is a POS gun.Jams all the time, mag falls out while shooting, innacurate and ugly as sin.You get what you pay for i guess. It was my first gun and since then i owned a lot of different guns and never went back to hi-point.And the worse thing,i cant sell it,cause nobody want this junk...Wasted $150...
@urungutang maybe if you knew how to put the clip in you would be able to shoot it. its a great gun ugly as hell this is true but if your like me and rather have a 149 dollar gun to have as a side arm when hunting or out backpacking this is a good choice. cause if you drop it mud or any type of damage to a barrel your only out 140 bucks plus it come with a life time warranty
@TheLeeboynum77 no,id rather have something that i know will actually shoot.Like a glock for example.Reliable, accurate, inexpensive, will eat any ammo you feed it,basically the only gun youll ever need.
But if you love hi-points so much, you can have mine,$140 and its yours.Almost new,200 rounds through it.But i know you wont buy it,because me and you know , its a waste of money...Better save up for a glock.
@urungutang Not manufacturer makes 100% of their items without defects. That is why Hi Point has a 100% life time warranty. Quit shitting on the gun and send it back to Hi Point so they can make it right. I own a Hi Point 9mm and .45 and have not had the first problem with mine.
Its a great gun......shoots well.....and with the Ghost sight I am deadly accurate......make sure you put the ghost sights on..you wont believe the difference!!
LOL to people that bash these guns, say they jam alot, say they are shit, say they fall apart and break easily, PROVE IT. out of the few dozen videos ive seen can you guess what? not 1 jam or malfunction :O!
I own the C-9 and have never had a problm. Not one stove pipe or any kind of jam, NRVER! I love my Glock and Springfield, XD and 1911 and they all jam sometimes. My Kimber is the BEST gun but it cost 1300 bucks, This little heavey, clunky, ugley gun goes bang every single time and is a perfect gun for a first timer, accurate and deadly. I think everyone should have one in their collection.
I own one these guns and do like it. When I first shot it it jammed 3 times with one new clip then 2 times with the other clip..But you need to break in the clips. After that this gun shot flawless!! It is +P rated also out of the box. I'm a Ruger fan, but will not hesitate to use my C9. Nice gun for the money.Keep them clean and greased... "Like any other gun"!!! It won't fail. Great warranty, I can shoot the crap out of it and still have it fixed.Try that with others!!Few out there. Hot girl!
i just bought one with FMJ rounds and yea it doesnt always go into battery but mines never jams i mean its nowhere near broken in but we'll see what happens but regardless a round is goin in your ass no matter what gun u shoot
dont listen to this garbage. hi points suck. they have the ridiculous warranty for a reason. you can tell even in the video that they are worthless. it fails to go into battery BOTH times they release the slide. the woman even slapped the mag to knock it down.
@Lonewolf6565 bullshit, ive had the same gun for 2 1/2 years and fired atleast 2000 rounds with only 2 or 3 jams.they dont suck, theyre just cheap, they gun works fine it just has a few irrelevent kinks
honestly i wouldnt take it to the range id be worried about it blowing up in my face id use it for one time home deffense if i had to just saying and yes i have guns that cost like 5 time more than that one good vid still:)
@404040c I own a C9 and have put 100 rounds thru it first time out, no jams, no stovepipes and most rounds hit the black circle at 25 yards! I think you should shoot one before you shoot off your mouth...
@swineheart1 Look man first off i wasn't talking to you man and second its just a gun dont get emo on me cause you own one i was just joking cause they are cheap and i said i would buy one probally am just to have one but dont come at me like that come correct with me i aint yo homie talking to me like that and im in the nra
@404040c nothing personal here bro, I am just letting you know that the Hi-Point goes bang when you need it to! Why spend $500 for a home defense weapon when you can get one for $150? I am a six year Army Vet and with 9mm+Ps , I trust my Hi-Point. By the way, it is also +P rated...
Spent $200.00 on mine. 600 rds through it now. No jams, stovepipes or anything. Lifetime warranty and Hi Point carries a A+ rating from the BBB. Can't go wrong.
I bought the 45 Hi-Point for home defense.Took it to the range and put 50 rounds thru it.Loaded 8 rounds each in 2 clips.First clip fired flawlessly with good accuracy at 75 ft,Second clip misfed on first 2 rounds.Noticed that the rounds in the clip weren't back in the clip good.Made sure all rounds were in clip properly and not another misfeed after that.Love it and I will purchase more Hi-Point firearms.
what do you mean u cant even break them down to clean them u have to buy a special tool. that does not come with the gun. and look how much recoil a 9mm has with a hi-point. all that means is low accuracy. if ur going to buy a gun save up just a little more money and get a better gun!
The manu.recommends u dont even need to break it down till after 2000 rounds, and all u do is pop a roll pin out.Big deal, some minor adj.on the mag, polish the ramp a bit and its even more reliable than a glock!!
If I knew for a fact I could get a good one,or two or three I would buy them. They seem like great trunk guns and for someone that is low income but needs a gun.Even a jamming gun is better than no gun.I want their new carbine.
Hey, she didnt limp wrist it! That probably helped for the NON jamming issue. I have the JCP .40 and as long as you SLAP THE CLIP AFTER LOADING on your thigh or soo and keep it clean. Still shoots like shit. And jams, I have lost more good rounds on jams with this gun, than I PAID FOR IT!!!! Time to try the 9mm model I see soo much. Hopefully better results.
The woman is gorgeous, I hope you treat her better than a Hi Point. She deserves a Ruger or Taurus. I've considered a Hi Point to throw in my truck and atv, but will keep my P-89 for shooting and home defense.
I love how all the internet douches bash Hipoint , Why are you drawn to warching videos on them if you dont like them . I think KIA is crap but Im not out searching youtube to watch videos of them . Ive got over 500rnds through my 380 , 100 of them being reloaded hollow points that my cousins taurus 380 wouldnt even chamber .
@dills2403 Negative.. Form is a personal thing.. She was leaned back a bit far and she wasn't pulling back with her left and pushing with her right to eliminate recoil or muzzle drop or sway.. IMO :) I am getting one for my new house.. I'm a big fan of my 24/7 but for the price.. good pistol :)
dude, he's form is near perfect, her's form is poor, she leans back putting pressure on your lower back to control the recoil and look at her grib, she is doing the cup and saucer thing where she places one hand under the butt of the gun sorry for calling your an idiot but that comment pissed me, she has poor form. It made me even more upset that all these fools on youtue agreed with you when clearly she has poor form.
@readeronly1 ok you seem to want to make a big deal of this .... First take your head out of yyour ass and understand i said that "the girl had better form than the man" nowhere did i say she had great good or proper form....my comment was an attack on the man mainly saying he needs to work on his form more.im begining to think that your the guy in the video ... since your getting butt hurt over this...
take a firearms class, then come back and say that to me. Show this video to anyone who knows anything about firearms, any police offier, any firearms instructor, and make that same statement to them as you did in your original video. You'll soon discover the true meaning of being "ass hurt" not to mention "dignity raped"
@readeronly1 ahhh you agian , the only one truely butt hurt here is you...i said in my original comment "the girl had better form than the man" when i said that it was to poke fun at the guy on the video... nothing to do with you or anyone else just him... that being said stfu!
Its me again bitch, its been a long time, wanted you to hear my voice again. the lady has terrible form and you know it, you just cant admit tha you made a mistake. Its very clear in the video that the guy has the better form.
I know that you like Hi Point, but honestly they are a POS. I had mine out the other day and the action jammed on me about a dozen times atleast. I got it just to get used to shooting a pistol. They, in my mind, are as good as a boat anchor. It will never be shot again, to unsafe to have a gun game on you when you may have a life or death situation. I am definately upgrading to a Glock or Beretta in the very near future. Please don't let that beautiful women shoot a Hi Point again please.
I'll bet anything that you were using Winchester ammo. Hi Point pistols jam like crazy with Winchester bullets; try pretty much any other brand and it'll shoot like a dream. Also, make sure that it's very well cleaned and lubed. Is it the equal of a $900 Sig Sauer? Of course not. But it's accurate and reliable and the $750 you saved will pay for a lot of range time to practice with it!
I have a 9mm as well. I have never had a problem. Pretty accurate due to its fixed barrel which is compensated by the heavier frame. Its a great gun for the price
hell i just think there cool i mean id own the 45 and the 9 just because they are cheap id also own the glock, the 1911, why not add a cheap gun to your collection
yeah you can spend more than a dollar can't you, I mean you saved hundreds of dollars on that amazing Hi Point pistol! Fuck, you're a real mackdaddy pimp now!
I Have a 380 Hi Point and had a problem with jamming talked to a service tech told me to send it back and he'll look at it . Got it back in a week replaced slide works great no cost to me. Good Company
guys u really should question bucks statement as he claims something impossible has happend then after sayn he wud not purchase another gun like this buys a jimenes 9mm,i have no experience with jimenes but i know they are bryco guns with a new name and hi point has been flawless for me
At 0:51 when she racked the slide, it did not go fully into battery. And the slide seemed to go into batter on its own just before she taped the bottom of the magazine.
@Sentinel781 I have this problem constantly with my HP 9MM. Constantly. I have examined the firearm and concluded that the receiver assy spring is either weak, flawed or an old design. My serial number is P1231xxx (last 3 numbers are unimportant to this note) When the clip is fully loaded, the clip spring under highest tension, the receiver carriage will not move the round out of the clip and the gun jams.
@metrichorse i had the same problem with my c9, i had alot of jams caused from the feed ramp, i finally took it apart and sanded down the feed ramp and oiled it. feeds every time now
@Iceman103105 I finally got Hi Point to answer the phone. Talked to a Tech who initially acted like they didn't know there is a problem. He said he was going to send me a new receiver spring. Also told me to bend the lower tabs on the mag outward. I noticed the rounds did stick when trying to move them in the mag in an up and down motion. This causes the round to be clamped by the mag. Bent these lower tabs out straight and seems to feed better. Not shot it yet, but can push rounds out now
@Sentinel781 After 2-3 rounds the clip spring tension reduces and rounds are able to better feed under lower tension. I have two clips. 8 round and 10 round. Both exhibit this jam. I have called and emailed Hi-Point and they are evidently not responding. The number I call is 866-948-4867. This gun has jammed like this since day one. And I have sent around 300 - 400 rounds through it. I definitely and reliably gets a first round jam and routinely get 2 - 3 rounds within the clip jamming.
@Sentinel781 There are no obstructions on the receiver block or ramp not burs or apparent design flaws on the clips. The gun is not dirty. This gun is unreliable and unsafe for a defense arm. i'd like to know if anyone else experiences the jam seen in this video or as I describe above.
@Sentinel781 There is a locking mechanism on the left side for the slide. If you look closely she pulls the slide back which engauges the lock, then releases it with her thumb. Why she tries to push the clip in? No clue. The clip goes in, the clip goes click. Done. She did that ass backwards anyways. I would have dropped a round in the chamber, released the slide, and inserted the clip.
@Sentinel781 That's because she didn't let go of the slide like you're supposed to. She pulls the slide back and attempts to slide it back, instead of just letting it go and allowing the spring to load a round in the chamber. Think of it like firing a slingshot, you pull the band back and let it go quickly.
yes i am sending it back as i write this because i dont really know alot on repairing them and it had a lifetime warranty so why not also going to do a saftey check on the firearm as it is all most 2.5 years old
Hi Point is a miracle of the century -- a good 9mm without the outrageous price of Sig's, Beretta's, HK, etc. A reliable 9mm for 150 to 200 bucks!! Hi Points deserves a place alongside the Boeing 707 which was designated the technical marvel of the 20th century
It's funny, the Hi-Point design is just like the rest of the other "Saturday Night Specials" out there. They just tweaked it a little to get better reliability out of it.
Stay away from the Bryco, Jiminez, and Jennings hand guns. I owned a Model 58, and it was nothing but a problem from day one with a trigger mechanism that refused to work properly and constantly bound up and wouldn't fire. I took it back to the dealer twice for repair and the gunsmith was unable to get it to work properly due to a poor design.
The Model 58 was a better looking gun compared to the HiPoint. But I just couldn't trust it and traded it in on a Ruger P90.
For the guys that are fighting in the comments about the Hi-point...who cares...for the price its a great gun hands down...I don't think Hi-point is going to sell a gun that is so dangerous or they wouldn't be selling....and by the way the girl in this video is hot! I'd rather see her shoot than some bikini model...thumbs up for this video!
GOLD RUSH IS A MORON!! first off im not a wealthy snob for one but i VALUE MY FAMILY AND LIFE! if you want a gun to protect your self or home DO NOT BUY if you want a cheap gun look into a KelTec or a Charter Arms you can find them used for around 200+ which is very cheap and they are not junk HI-Point is crap always has been always will be!
You couldn't give me a $200.00 gun, much less a $150.00 one. It has nothing to do with snobbery. A handgun is under incredible stress every time it's fired. The last thing that I want is some slapped-together handgun made with inferior materials exploding and taking my hand off.
Not to mention that if I have to use a handgun, I want to know that it's most reliable one on the market, which is why I'm a Glock/Sig man from way back.
It would take a ton of stress to make a Hi-Point explode in such a manner that would hurt you (about 4 different areas would have to fail at once).
To each their own, though. I like the Sig lineup a lot (I like the P225/P6 models). I can't stand Glocks, they are too overpriced, in my opinion. Plus, I am a 1911 guy, so the grip angle of the Glock is counter intuitive for me.
Says who? You? I'm sorry but you're going to have to cite something other than your own opinion. Secondly a ton of stress is exactly what the inside of a large caliber handgun barrel is subjected to every time it fires. In order to sell a gun for $150.00, corners have to be cut somewhere. That's just how manufacturing works. My hand is worth more than the few hundred bucks I'd save in buying a cheap crudely made handgun.
In order for a Hi-Point to blow up and hit you, the front slide assembly has to go, the rear slide retainer has to go, the polymer section (frame) that holds the slide retainer has to go, and the steel reinforced firing pin channel would have to go. That's not my own opinion. Look at the gun yourself and you'll see.
To each their own, though. Like/dislike what you want. Best to keep things factual though.
P.S. It seems there are quite a few incidents of Glocks blowing up...
ROFL. You're talking out of your ass. Even if you were an engineer, you couldn't begin to predict the way in which a handgun (in this case a cheap shoddily made handgun) will fail without lots of hard data. You haven't referenced any data at all.
Of course Glocks have blown up, stupid. That was the point of my post. If a superior handgun, such as a Glock, can blow up, a cheap piece o' shit HiPoint represents and unreasonable risk.
For the sake of argument, what experience do you have with the Hi-Points? Have you taken one apart? Have you fired one? Have you looked at the internal design?
You seem to be getting pretty angry. Did I touch a nerve?
Yes and no. I have taken apart and cleaned an ugly brick-like Hi-Point 9mm, but I have never fired one.
Again, you haven't provided any data to support your contention that they are well made guns. In the absence of such data, I'm going to err on the side of caution and avoid sub-standard $150.00 hi-caliber handguns. We can exchange opinions indefinitely, but this is a fact. Compromises had to be made to reach that price-point.
That's the stupidest thing I've heard this week. Your limited anecdotal experience are meaningless.
Equally as stupid is your request that I prove that they might explode. As I stated earlier, me position is to err on the side of caution. Logic dictates that a bargain basement gun is made of inferior materials. It's the same reason that I drive an Audi and not a $2000.00 Indian Tata. I don't skimp where my life is on the line.
would a hi point carbine 9mm and a high point pistol 9mm be a good combination for when SHTF?
USMCmazac 2 weeks ago
i happen to own a 2 hi points .380 and 9mm, several glocks, and a few lower cal. firearms. i have had 1 jam in probably 2000 rounds with my hi point .380 factor i didnt clean it on purpose to check if rumors are true, also tried this with my glock 17 only took 500 rounds b4 it jammed. i would have to say best buy for ur money considering i paid double for my glock isnt half as reliable!

i know its a low cost gun and im noting trying to rag on it but why do they have to make it sooo fuckn ugly
jpnasty 2 months ago
i have a hi point 380 and a berreta 92fs i do prefer the 92fs but the hi point isn't a bad gun i just hate cleaning it when the 92fs is simple to take apart and whatnot plus it's what i've used with the military so naturally it's grown on me
spuddud19 4 months ago
I recently bought this gun and have fired 500+ rounds thru it without a single jam. I hold a really close group with it . Better than alot of high dollar handguns! A very good deal on a quality handgun! HIPOINT...HELL YEAH!!!

@BASSANDCARGUY219 get a glock 17, browning high power, or a CZ75B. dont be afraid to spend a little extra cash. its worth every penny. and there is a really cool makarov pistol for 200$ that shoots 9x18 mm
renoretards 5 months ago
For all the people who bitch ,piss, and moan bout this gun . You can go fuck yourself. This is the cheapist realiable gun I have ever had . It may jam every 15 shots or so when I shoot fast . I use this go to shoot and have shot around 1000 rounds out of it so far . I keep on the technical work that it needs and I clean before and after I shoot it . This gun has a nice feel to it and is a small and smaller recoil than my Glock 9mm .
fartknockr69 5 months ago
@fartknockr69 So you say it is reliable, then you say it jams. I do not call a jamming firearm reliable

All the personal insults are childish. If these guns were so terrible blowing up in peoples hand of which there is NO PROOF other than people saying "well my friend had one and it blew up", or "I heard from a gun magazine that these blow up"; or they heard from a friend who heard it from a friend who read it in a forum somewhere?
If these were so unsafe, Hi-Point would of been sued into oblivion already!
I own a C9 and it works beautifully. For $150, I have no complaints.

as a noob to firearms and shooting in general, I went with the Hi-Point 9MM compact for its affordability and transferable lifetime warranty.

@make1up726 hi point has a great customer service dep. and there warenty is great too just make sure you dont over pay for the gun if some one says 200 keep looking if youre in ohio (where they are made )dont pay more than 150
scrubbyjoe1 11 months ago

If they produced guns that blew up in peoples faces they would have been sued off the face of the earth.

dills2403 9 months ago
@haman2486 I don't think that hi-points are terrible but they are far from perfect. I have seen the guns break down over time. I've even seen the grip separate on one. The ergonomics leave a lot to be desired with a very bulky slide. Also, for as big as the gun is, hi point could have easily made this gun a double stacked gun. That being said, for the shooter on a budget, these are great guns. I think a lot of people over hype the problems with the gun, but for $150 who cares?
zachk1983 7 months ago
@zachk1983 All guns break down over time, ive dumped close to 6000 rounds through my hi-point and it functions as well as it did day 1. I completely agree with you, Hi point could have easily made this a FAR more appealing weapon for little to no extra cost and a slight redesign. A double stack mag would be ideal. for a $150 you can't beat them, especially with the lifetime no questions asked warranty!
haman2486 7 months ago

MrButtcrack9 1 year ago
hi point is junk, bottom line. And i did send it in.They sent it back and even included a spare mag for free. But guess what.Still jams and shoots like shit. What a POS.
urungutang 1 year ago

I am definately upgrading to a Glock or Beretta in the very near future. Please don't let that beautiful women shoot a Hi Point again please.
kawasakihunter30 2 years ago
I'll bet anything that you were using Winchester ammo. Hi Point pistols jam like crazy with Winchester bullets; try pretty much any other brand and it'll shoot like a dream. Also, make sure that it's very well cleaned and lubed. Is it the equal of a $900 Sig Sauer? Of course not. But it's accurate and reliable and the $750 you saved will pay for a lot of range time to practice with it!

Proedge352 2 years ago
@Sentinel781 My Glock 39 sf does that. Whats your point?
Jazmckay 1 year ago
@Sentinel781 I have this problem constantly with my HP 9MM. Constantly. I have examined the firearm and concluded that the receiver assy spring is either weak, flawed or an old design. My serial number is P1231xxx (last 3 numbers are unimportant to this note) When the clip is fully loaded, the clip spring under highest tension, the receiver carriage will not move the round out of the clip and the gun jams.
metrichorse 1 year ago
@metrichorse i had the same problem with my c9, i had alot of jams caused from the feed ramp, i finally took it apart and sanded down the feed ramp and oiled it. feeds every time now
Iceman103105 1 year ago
@Iceman103105 I finally got Hi Point to answer the phone. Talked to a Tech who initially acted like they didn't know there is a problem. He said he was going to send me a new receiver spring. Also told me to bend the lower tabs on the mag outward. I noticed the rounds did stick when trying to move them in the mag in an up and down motion. This causes the round to be clamped by the mag. Bent these lower tabs out straight and seems to feed better. Not shot it yet, but can push rounds out now
metrichorse 1 year ago
@Sentinel781 After 2-3 rounds the clip spring tension reduces and rounds are able to better feed under lower tension. I have two clips. 8 round and 10 round. Both exhibit this jam. I have called and emailed Hi-Point and they are evidently not responding. The number I call is 866-948-4867. This gun has jammed like this since day one. And I have sent around 300 - 400 rounds through it. I definitely and reliably gets a first round jam and routinely get 2 - 3 rounds within the clip jamming.
metrichorse 1 year ago

DeathMetalStar57 1 year ago
@Sentinel781 That's because she didn't let go of the slide like you're supposed to. She pulls the slide back and attempts to slide it back, instead of just letting it go and allowing the spring to load a round in the chamber. Think of it like firing a slingshot, you pull the band back and let it go quickly.

wht would u guys prefer as a good cheap plink around pistol the hi-point c9 or the jiminez ja 9 i would really like to no anybody have a clue ??

Go with the Hi-Point C9. The JA9 quality has been very spotty as of late.
millerusaf 2 years ago
Hi Point is a miracle of the century -- a good 9mm without the outrageous price of Sig's, Beretta's, HK, etc. A reliable 9mm for 150 to 200 bucks!! Hi Points deserves a place alongside the Boeing 707 which was designated the technical marvel of the 20th century

It's funny, the Hi-Point design is just like the rest of the other "Saturday Night Specials" out there. They just tweaked it a little to get better reliability out of it.

HiPoint C9.

AkJay42 2 years ago
My video proves they are not junk, and they work just fine.
Do you have a video that proves otherwise?
Put up or shut up. Stop trying to mis-inform the masses in order to further your own little agenda.

Hoopermazing 2 years ago 2
It would take a ton of stress to make a Hi-Point explode in such a manner that would hurt you (about 4 different areas would have to fail at once).
To each their own, though. I like the Sig lineup a lot (I like the P225/P6 models). I can't stand Glocks, they are too overpriced, in my opinion. Plus, I am a 1911 guy, so the grip angle of the Glock is counter intuitive for me.
millerusaf 2 years ago
Says who?
Hoopermazing 2 years ago
In order for a Hi-Point to blow up and hit you, the front slide assembly has to go, the rear slide retainer has to go, the polymer section (frame) that holds the slide retainer has to go, and the steel reinforced firing pin channel would have to go. That's not my own opinion. Look at the gun yourself and you'll see.
To each their own, though. Like/dislike what you want. Best to keep things factual though.
P.S. It seems there are quite a few incidents of Glocks blowing up...
millerusaf 2 years ago
Hoopermazing 2 years ago
For the sake of argument, what experience do you have with the Hi-Points? Have you taken one apart? Have you fired one? Have you looked at the internal design?
You seem to be getting pretty angry. Did I touch a nerve?
millerusaf 2 years ago
Hoopermazing 2 years ago
...and I'm inclined to believe--until proven otherwise--that those compromises are of a metallurgic nature. Additionally, they are fucking hideous.
Hoopermazing 2 years ago
Watch my videos. They show the Hi-Point operating just fine.
Show me proof that they may kB!
millerusaf 2 years ago
That's the stupidest thing I've heard this week. Your limited anecdotal experience are meaningless.
Equally as stupid is your request that I prove that they might explode. As I stated earlier, me position is to err on the side of caution. Logic dictates that a bargain basement gun is made of inferior materials. It's the same reason that I drive an Audi and not a $2000.00 Indian Tata. I don't skimp where my life is on the line.
Hoopermazing 2 years ago
You base everything on price, and that is an amateur mistake.
What about the people out there that cannot afford something expensive?
Answer that.
You have proven that you are too immature to handle this conversation. Consider it over.
