Keep it simple. You could get together and catch up and talk about your kids, politics, the music you listen to now whatever...You've got stuff in common. If the guitars come out, that would be great. Collectively, your music has inspired and brought joy to so many of us.
I wrote song like this once about Woody Guthrie. Looking back, I think I should've left his name out of it. It's a good story you have here without mentioning the band..Saw Tupelo on that tour..didn't realize what I was seeing..very memorable..
Yes, very good tune indeed! I too was searching for Farrar videos and stumbled upon this. I'm a huge fan of UT, Wilco and Son Volt and naturally I loved this song...I'm Norwegian and I'm constantly trying to spread the word of these amazing artists to my countrymen. I just love seeing a fan expression like yours, admirable, and you're very talented, good luck to you!
Wow! Good stuff. I agree with you. Both have done well with bands after Uncle Tupelo but together their music had more magic...(so to speak). You sounded great...Thanks for putting yourself out there!
Thanks so much for your *Very Kind* words! As I agree with you that UT exuded much magic, I am also of the belief that the separate projects formed as a result of the band are equally as magical :-) I'm guessing from your screen name that you were privy to the magic way before the rest of us..Thank you for listening!
I see the Farrar-Tweedy relationship very much as parallel to the Lennon-McCartney one. I think Jay's influence kept Jeff from indulging some of his poppier tendencies. On the other hand, Farrar's made his best music post-Tupe, imho.
Oh, I'd be THRILLED to post the lyrics! Thank you for indulging my Rock N' Roll ego..Best Christmas Present Ever :-) Seriously-Thanks for asking..
Will cut and paste from my original word document when first wrote the song** Some very slight variations from how it was originally written to how I happened to sing it the day I shot the video- mostly in the chorus.
As per 500 character post limit, will add lyrics to "about this video" section
I haven't, but am planning a session with Mitch Easter as soon as I can get my budget together. Although, wasn't planning on recording this one with Mitch..I'll get in touch with you if and when I track this one. Thanks for listening :-)
Well if you ever need someone to contribute dobro, mandolin, harmonica or mandola, give me a shout. I'm in England but the Internet makes that kind of irrelevant...
I have been a fan of both for years. Thanks for the song!

Jeff you should call Jay.
Jay you should call Jeff.

Nice work. It's fun to remember the old UT days. I try to be a good little fan also in the shadow of the catsup bottle.

Any chance you'd post the lyrics, Andrea?

Very good song, about one of my favourite bands. Have you done a studio version?

Do you play Pedal Steel?
AndreaOrlen 4 years ago
Unfortunately not... I aim to learn one day though! You basically can't buy them over here, I've never actually seen one in a shop.

So I was looking for some Farrar's video perfomance when found this and... nice vocals here.

Two high school friends who started a band :-)
You're getting closer (Last time he referred to them as Jose Ferraro and Conway Twitty)

Clearly this is a clever marketing ploy for United Airlines to try to crack that coveted Americana-nerd market.
Well played, United Airlines... well played.
