  • The scary theme kicks ass.

  • This owns my native state's "Haunted Mansion Holiday" [you can guess what state I'm from.] And Paul Frees owns the HMH cast,oo, 1 ,000th ghost.

  • I was stuck on the part where the rocking chair keeps going back and forth

  • Wow

  • i loved this ride. one of my fav's

  • @MyCobain555 its like a train...two to a seat.

  • how did they make the hologram ghosts?

  • @DirtyBird760 They're not holegrams. They were made by the Pepper's ghost illusion

  • I'm going to Disneyworld in 10 days for the first time n.n I am scared very easily xd so a question: the cars are arranged in a train or they move separately? I hope you understand my english xd

  • OMG i never noticed the hanging guy in the begininng and i have gone on this ride a dozen times

  • @edwardcullen62019011 Dumbass.

  • @castletriglav why r u being such a bitch 2 me i didnt do anything 2 u

  • I remember going on this ride and it stopped at the part where it goes and an incline. My little sister was freaking out. This is my all time favorite ride!

  • this might seem random but can anyone tell me what all the floating objects are in madame leota's seance circle?

  • Omg i wanted to watch this cuz I wanted to seewhat the ride is like cuz I've never been on it! Im so scared I'd probably pee myself on that ride

  • now who does the voice of the ghost host? I completely forgot! But the beginning where he said: 'Is to find a way out! HA HA HA HA HA HA! But their is always my way.'

  • The new interactive line is pretty neat

  • i remember this ride

  • and i LOVE the mirror part when the person next to you looks like a ghost

  • i remember this ride. i rode it 2 years ago. but i covered my eyes with my hands becuz i was scared of ghosts back then... but i like the part when everybody died except the lady becuz she was on top of everybody else

  • Lol I remember being scared to death of this ride when I was little, now Im 17 and its one of my all time favorites.

  • Thanks for sharing!!

  • This chamber has no windows and no doors, apart than the emergency exit on your right, which you can use in any emergency.

  • @MyFlyingchicken

    SOO TRUUU LMFAO

  • When i went on this ride we got stuck at the part infront of the busts singing the song :(

  • scary!

  • i cried on this ride wen i was 11 xD

  • Favorite ride!

  • I agree (:

  • You know what's cool about the ghost bride? Well in the movie, you see a wedding dress that Master Gracey showed Mrs. Evers ( Eddie Murphy's wife in the movie) and I think it's cool how everything from the ride was literally incorporated into the movie! Flawlessly! I didn't care for the acting so much as how accurately the movie's haunted mansion mirror masked the real ride! Who agrees with me?

  • this ride is amazing and so is EVERYTHING at Disney world! its so magical evrytime i go there

and the best part is when you see the spirits dancing. so cool!

  • I love this ride! It brings back so many fun times of Disney world.... I might be going in November! I'm so excited!

Best time to go: Halloween time. It isn't too crowded, still warm out, and you can trick or treat. :)

  • did you have your camcorder light on? Thats messed up, bet the people in the car in front and behind really love you.

  • @swierczek2543 Infrared camera light. Nobody's enjoyment was spoiled.

  • @sunocox that's what she said

  • I wish I lived in the Haunted Mansion.

  • I love it It was so cool to bad that my picture dint show well but love all effects

  • ooh this is a little creepier than the one at the Anaheim Disneyland!

  • cool effects..

  • this is not HD...

  • @SuperAmp18 Original was in HD. Back in Jan'08 when this was posted, YouTube couldn't display HD videos so it looks like this. Unfortunately, they don't let you replace the video. I posted a newer video as a response that is in 720p HD.

  • @SuperAmp18 Nor or my eyes

  • I want to live here.

  • @SweetCatastrophe92 i also want to live here in d mansion

  • I'm 13, and knowing myself that if I get on this ride, I'll crap my pants.

  • At 5:27 you can see the hidden mickey on the table in the ghost party room the bottom right hand corner of the screen in front of the chair

  • This is a fun/scary ride. What is fun is the dancing ghosts and what is scary is the scenery.

  • @jma1842 Heck yeah Buddy!! Ever see The Eddie Murphy movie? It was based off the ride! You see everything in the movie as you do in the ride! I love the ball room dancers the best!

  • When I was little this use to scare the crap out of me and now that I look at it again it looks awsome!

  • scary!

  • It's not in (HD)

  • Also, for trivia sake, the women dancing in the ball are meant to resemble the disney princesses dressed in their victorian best. The easiest one to identify is ariel, since she is the redhead. But due to the pepper's ghost effect, the animators forgot that the mirror would flip everything, and by mistake, the girls are leading the guys in the dance!

  • When I go to Disneyworld I will make sure to scream like a idiot on this ride

  • YOUR GHOST HOST, HM HM HM HM LMFAO

  • haha in the beginning the dad saying, "No, you're okay!"

My dad almost got me to go on this ride when I was little, but when I heard that voice I completely flipped out and the staff had to help us find an exit. I was the biggest fraidy-cat when I was little.

  • @rainbowmuppet Honey, I'm 26 years old and this ride still scares the crap out of me! I love it but it scares me senseless! I will close my eyes at certain parts or even hide behind my hat! This one time me and my friend Melissa rode it and we were screaming our faces off!

  • I ADORE THIS RIDE. I first went to Disney World when I was 5, and I went back in 2009. I am so very blessed in that I am leaving for Disney World tomorrow, to experience the magic again. So excited! The Haunted Mansion is DEFINITELY one of the best attractions there.

  • I was there last week and the cast member saw my brother sitting on a wall. He pointed at him to get down and let him in the doors. He started to close the doors and he was scared! That guy really knows how to make an experience fun-er!

  • Aww I miss this! One of my favourite rides! I will be your host your ghost host hmmmhhmmmm! xx Lol xx

  • Please Visit "Save The Haunted Mansion Hitchhiking Ghosts!" at Care2.com to return the Hitchhiking Ghost Mirrors effect.

  • @DavidJMcCarthy The hitchhiking ghosts are not gone, the ride is simply under refurbishment. The beloved ghosts will be back in several weeks.

  • the one in paris has a proper story line, i really liked that story line as this is more of just a house

  • Going to Disney World this September! I miss this ride! o:

  • I love how when your waititng to go in the ride the usher are saying "fill in all the DEAD space"

  • Great ride!

  • lol 2:05 the scream

  • Dude I'm going in the summer and I already can't wait lol I could live in Disney.

  • when i went in there with my mom i was freaking out like OH SHIT!!!

  • 18 people were to scared to go on this

  • Hey does anybody realize (well besides myself anyway)that Madame Leota's voice is Eleanor Audley(a.ka. Lady Tremaine in 1950's Cinderella and Maleficent in 1959's Sleeping Beauty)?Yeah u learn such cool things from Disney travel stuff on the travel channel or any where else.

  • how do they do the ghost dancers that is so realistic it is insane

  • @stacks6969allday its called peppers ghost, theyre mannequins that are blue and are actually underneath the track and there are two giant "windows" that you cant see right in front of you, the reflection of the mannequins makes them appear to be ghosts, and are positioned to be exactly aligned with the props, if you dont believe me go to Disneyland's version in Anaheim and at the end of the ballroom, directly infront of you is a crack in the glass from a BB gun bullet in the shape of a spider...

  • I've lived in Orlando for 11 years now and I have been to WDW like 100 times. Out of all the rides I've been on in all 4 parks, this has to be the best. Been wanting to get a job at WDW someday soon and when I do, I would do anything to work at the Haunted Mansion.

  • Best video I have ever seen of the Haunted Mansion what kind of camera did you use ? Just amazing how you recorded the whole attraction.

  • i loveee this ride(: if i could live in the haunted mansion forever, i'd be the happiest person on earth:D

  • by the way i went in the night...

  • 240p is not HD, but thanks for posting.

  • amazing place <3

  • Happy Halloween, Disney World :)

I wish I could celebrate it with you :(

  • @SuperKaitie333 happy halloween anyone who went over halloween hope u had a fab time

  • Does anyone know whats up with that head having eyes :22 right after the howl you can see focusing and movement. Is that an employee or can ppl put their face behind there or something? At least it looked like real eyes. Is it a trick?

  • @Miracle490d That's not a Cast Member or a Guest; it's Madame Leota's grave. It was added there a few years ago. It is kinda creepy, isn't it? :)

  • @fivebearrugs It has to be some worker back there. I saw green eyes and the face and hair even move in other videos. If I saw that in person the first time it would've been a shocker. It surprised me on video. Is that at Disneyland or just WDW?

  • @Miracle490d Nope, it's all Audio-Animatronics. :) Her eyes open and close/revert back to stone, and her head (but not her hair) moves forward. Btw, her epitaph reads "Dear sweet Leota, loved by all, in regions beyond now, but having a ball."

I can't post a YouTube link, but if you add this after the .com part, it'll take you to a video of the Leota tombstone: /watch?v=ngLA97MS8Ck

  • @fivebearrugs Cool. Animatronics never occurred to me. You're so used to seeing it in the rides, I never expected it outside the ride. That line is more out of the ride area than things like Tikiroom idols and Star Tours robots. Or so I thought. I guess if you count things like the iron gate and overgrown yard, its still part of it.

  • @Miracle490d Everything from the Guest Entrance to the exit of the attraction counts as part of it...half the fun is if the queue has AAs entertaining you (Star Tours), things to observe/read (Indy, Mansion, Jungle Cruise), little shows or movies (Small World)...

  • Wait so at 2:00 what happened? Did he hang himself?

  • @SuperKaitie333 I don't really Know I never completely got that myself. It was always just a scream and a body appeared from no where. Nobdy impeticular that I know of. Does anyone else know any extra story facts? I sure can't see that much in the dark to get all these things like brides names.

  • @SuperKaitie333 Without going into detail, yes

  • @SuperKaitie333 In the movie despondent over the death of Elizabeth, he hung himself.

  • @SuperKaitie333 In the movie, despondent over the death of Elizabeth, he (Master Gracey) hung himself.

  • @LucyLovettLestrange

aahhh I get it. Thank you.

  • i feel like this would be sooo much more scary if you had to walk through instead of sitting in the thingy

  • @BeautyForTweens You know your probably right. It being so dark if they didn't have a railed pathway you could almost feel lost in there and might get freaked a bit. But they'd never do it. ppl would lag and stay in longer and be tempted to go where they shouldn't. I think the cars are more to keep track of us than anything. Could you imagine if someone were lost or missing how hard it would be to find them in there? Even if they shut the ride down and turned on the lights it would be hard.

  • @BeautyForTweens I agree! I can barely stomache doing haunted houses, at least when youre on the ride, people can't jump out at you

  • When I was at the MK three weeks ago, a nasty thunderstorm was approaching. So I hauled over to the Haunted Mansion. After my first ride it was pouring, so I rode it again. The cast members eventually opened a "secret" passageway and I rode it seven times in a row. I thought I was going to become the 1000 ghost!

  • Ahh disney, i had a great time there

  • Oh my God... The first time I went on this ride I was scared as hell because my parents insisted on taking me on THIS RIDE at like 8 at night, and as we were waiting at the door and the lady shook it and 5 minutes later in unexpectedly opened which scared me, and when the way he talked at the beginning scared me, but when I saw the people showing how they died in th e beginning I LOL'd all the way to the end :)

"Spirits, ghosts, wherever you dwell, send us a message by ringing a bell" :)

  • fact: the haunted mansion technely has 1000 haunts a guy won a contest to have a gravestone with his name on it and the title of 1000th haunt

  • @zackanzane hmmm. I wonder if the ghost voice is still around to redo a new recording saying we have 1000 haunts but theres always room for 1001. Maybe its too late and they'd have to really call him from the grave. Do you think he could be really haunting the mansion by now? 1001 OOOoooooh lol

  • Trivia: The Grand Hall/Ballroom is actually an empty room. The ghosts that you see are their reflections in the glass as the Audio-Animatronics are above and below your Doombuggy. One of the give-aways to this is the female dancers are leading the men. :)

  • @fivebearrugs How can you tell? I couldn't tell.

  • @LucyLovettLestrange It's one of those things you'd have to see in person I guess or on TV; I guess it would be hard to see on a YouTube video.

  • I love this ride! i rode it last when I was like 6 or 7.

  • 999 happy haunts...but we have room for 1000...any volunteers? If so....FINAL arrangements can be made at the end of the tour.

  • Im sure the other riders appreciated the bright light from your camera.

  • @vinnieavenue -Obviously you've never heard of infrared nightshot mode, rigtht?

  • fun fact in the begining room with all the pics, the streach is just you in an elevator most of the ride is under ground

  • @eclipsenut123 I was under the impression that the one in California was an elevator down and this one actually stretched up. I'll ask when I'm there.

  • @monstersdt You're right; the Stretching Room at DL is an elevator and the floor is lowering, whereas the one in Orlando is NOT, and thus the ceiling rises. :)

  • @fivebearrugs I paid very close attention when I rode it a few weeks ago, and it the floor is definitely not dropping down. I need to go to DL someday and experience the difference.

  • @monstersdt LOL, the DL stretching room is actually an elevator :)

  • @monstersdt I grew up at disneyland and I'm pretty sure I've always felt the floor go down. Your has to be doing the same thing. The top is cut out of the elevator so the room streatches. I can't think of any other way. Answer this; when you get out of the room again by the same doorway you came through is it a different room than before? If Yes, Then obviously you moved. It'd be a lot harder to move the Big Halls & rooms & keep you stationary, wouldn't it? LOL Your senses just got fooled.

  • Fun Fact:

Pause at 5:26, the last plates on the left form a hidden mickey :)

  • @SuperKaitie333 Good eye. I think I also found a hidden Mickey in the Pirates ride. And their were a few in the columns of the Finding Nemo ride. I meant to buy the book when I was there but never did.

  • TWO WEEK COUNTDOWN! Can't wait to ride this again.

  • i will never EVER do that!

  • I think we will ride this first..it'll be our first official ride of our 2010 trip.

  • god i cant wait to go on this again :) its one of my fav rides.....when i was there some man that worked there touched me when the lights went out omgggg scard the hell outta me :-o

  • This was my favorite ride at disney. It was so amazing!

  • I miss the old haunted mansion remember the neon spiders and the pop up heads and the bride was really fake looking it was a green lady animatronic and she didnt talk I remember the spiders look so fake were they rubber spiders or were they neon lights or were they animatronic we must know

  • @fruitlady9 I think I remember those! If they were there in 94' and 95' then I remember the spiders! This ride brings back so many memories! In fact it's the only rid that I have good memories of!

  • Why is there a random British guy telling people to "step away from the walls and gather together tightly?" (1:03-1:09)

  • @bluefox99887

The room they are in is a staging area before they enter the loading area onto the Doombuggies. Parts of the wall move to simulate a stretching effect (the Ghost Host mentions it) and on one side there is a large door that slides open to let the guests through. Basically, its to stop people accidently getting caught in a door or something like that. Just another one of the many small safety measures (even if the chances of that event happening are slim).

  • I went to DW in 2001 with my family. This was one of the rides we went on. My dad got scared before the ride even started. One of the workers jumped out from behind the car my dad was in, gave him a haunting look and said "Boo". My dad screamed like a little girl! LMBO!!!

  • 3:50-3:51 did the lady just say "fat warden?!?!"

  • at o.38 lol

  • i loved this ride when i went there

  • I'm writing here on my son's account but this ride has been my hope in times of darkness, just to get back to disney and ride on the haunted mansion, so fun

  • So cool ..

    I can`t imagine the experience..

    wow is amazing!!

  • @FheRjacksOn it is a good ride and its about 10 min

  • I remember that when i get of of the Mansion I heard a kid crying for the nothing...:S

  • @GamesWorldTV I've seen so many kids walk out crying. But they were too young to understand. The only parts of the ride that scare me are the ghosts that jump out and scare you.

  • @LucyLovettLestrange hahaha me too! is in the cemetery right??? (and also in the attic, i think)

  • @GamesWorldTV Yeah!

  • I always liked the ghostly ballroom dancers. If you have ever seen The Disney movie, The Haunted Mansion, everything you see in the movie, has some thing to do with the ride. ( The movie is set squarely based on the ride)

  • @LucyLovettLestrange

See the problem with that movie is that they used Eddy Murphy and other crappy actors and they effed up the reputation of a great ride like this.

  • @SuperKaitie333 Never thought of that. Good point!

  • @LucyLovettLestrange I always loved the ballroom/dining room the best too. Its like the ghosts are still living.

  • @theman211294 It's just so cool! Very believable! Did you ever see the 2004 Disney movie? I just watched this clip and literally everything from the movie was right in the ride!! Pirates of the Caribbean was based off the ride but wasn't as accurate as The Haunted Mansion. I think it's cool that there are moviees based on rides!

  • the kindly step in thing ruined the creepiness of that part

  • Fun fact: When you're in the room with all the pictures of the wife, as your going backwards, this is supposed to be you dying. The room with the pictures is an attic. Once you go backwards you can see the corner of the roof as you're "falling". Notice how the ghosts never acknowledged you before you fell out of the attic? Well now, you enter the grave yard and they try to scare you now that you're "one of THEM"!

  • @3blazer1998 That sounded very ominous with the "one of THEM" thing. And I give you credit for it. :)

  • @3blazer1998 thats all new to me. do you go down as you go backwards? when do the ghosts pop out saying I do before or after the bride? I haven't seen a video with all that together. Or did they get rid of the I do popping out when they put Constance in?

  • @3blazer1998 while yes you "fall" out of the attic, you don't die. The ghosts appear because of the seance.

  • @3blazer1998 Actually, as stated by the original Haunted Mansion disney imagineer Yale Gracey. it is meant to appear that you do fall out of the attic window, but your not actually dying. The ghosts materializing is due to Madame Leota's chants, which have obviously worked due to the ghosts "coming out to socialize". Also, Yale Gracey is the very same Gracy to whom the tombstone in the line is dedicated to.

  • @3blazer1998 You just made that up. That's complete 100% bullshit. Speaking as a Doombuggy fan, the ghosts "appear" after the seance scene where Madame Leota materializes them. You go backwards because it's safer for the doom buggy to travel leaning backwards than leaning fowards. It has nothing to do with you "dying", that never happens in the ride.

  • My best friend and I went on this 3 times in a row at night and we didn't even have to wait in line! Like 3/5 times we went on this the cast members scared us lol. We tried to make friends with one but he was a grumpy in-character guy.

  • 2:13

    lol prematurely

  • In the ride at Disneyland when in the portrait gallery you are actually going down and the roof is not getting higher. Do you go down in this ride or does the roof rise?

  • @Mgdisney15 in the WDW version the roof gets higher...this is one of my favorite rides there. Suppose to be an urban legend that the ride is actually haunted by the ghost of a young boy.

  • @mari66101 Thanks!! I have never been there but I love the one in Disneyland!!

Haunted by the ghost of a boy? Cool!!!!

  • @Mgdisney15 ....If you ever can get a chance to see the parks in Florida, do go. Magic Kingdom is connected to Epcot by monorail, and MGM and Animal Kingdom by bus....the on site Disney hotels also offer buses that take you into the parks...the Disney hotel I always stay in is the Carribean Beach.

  • @mari66101 Okay thank you!!!!

  • Hey! I remember this ride from when I was younger! So this is like the same mansion that Eddie Murphy was in for that movie?

  • @Asabasgurl Yes. Just look closely at the movie and you'll see everything from the ride in the movie

  • I almost lost my sunglasses on this ride because it was so dark.

  • @mileycyrussoulja iKnow that, but I was thinking the ride had like dropped or something

  • i was so scared when i went on. i was 5.

  • 3:06 goin up the stairs and goin down the stairs and goin up the stairs and goin down the stairs...and goin up the sideways stairs

  • I HATED THE MASION i was the last one out. UGGH its confusing!

  • I was scared of this at first, but then it bacame so fun! This ride is way cooler on Halloween, because the staff dresses up .

  • my favorite ride <3 thank you for the post

  • This ride still scares me to this day!!! when i was little, this ride gave me nightmares!! I'm 18 now and i'm a huge scaredy-cat and i won't go on this ride as long as i am living and breathing on this earth!!!!

  • @afifanatic14 I'm 26 and it still scares me! Won't go on the ride unless someone rides with me. Love it due in part to the Eddie Murphy movie but it's a "Buddy Ride" to me. Won't go unless I have a buddy to ride with.

  • Never been to Disney Land or Disney World

  • @jessiew1964

    You should go.

  • i went on this ride when i was in 3rd grade (now I'm in my 3rd year of collage). I don't remember much but i remember my knees were shaking halfway though

  • @Vyse195 What type of collages do you do? Paper machete?

  • @mbalben44 Lol.

  • When I was little I never gotten a chance to ride this at night. So when my husband and I rode on it at night,it was awesome.

  • in Disneyland they dont have the library

  • I wish i lived in the US >:(

  • You know I heard that the Haunted Mansions in Disneyland, Disney World, and Tokyo Disneyland. I hope it doesn't, that's one of my favorite rides.

  • When i was 8 years old i started crying cuz i was scared! LOL im not anymore.... its a good ride!
