  • You guys can order the oils on amazon for 3$!! Plus shipping

  • U are too freakin funny and have gorgeous lips ;) kisses babes :)

  • sexy

  • Whoa. Your eyes.

  • "stick your lips in a vacuum cleaner"

  • I'm gonna do it your way now! My attempts with ginger essential oil were not impressive. Fresh ginger really stings and plumps, but the essential oil had almost no effect. Googling a bit revealed that the stinging component of fresh ginger (gingerol) goes away if there's heat in the distillation process.

  • Yay I want to try this...looks pretty safe :)

  • i just found your blog so don't worry about listing the ingrediants =)

  • could yo ulist the ingrediants for easy access to your recipe :) it sounds sooo good

  • I just tried it by just mixing Orange+Clove oil to petroleum jelly :) really works too! But it's like them Instant Wrinkle fillers that only last a few hours,

  • @tomcoward16 yea these are the types of products you need to keep re-applying to get the effect to stay. wanna go get collagen with me? lol! i want to do it someday but i want to drag someone with me! haha!

  • I'm excited to try this out. I had collagen injected to my lips 2 months ago and its almost gone! I can't afford to spend $500 every 2 months if that's all its going to last on me. I wish you wouldve done a demo although you already have nice lips :)

  • Paint your nails guy

  • WOWWWW, ;D

  • can i feel shea butter ?? :))

  • Awesome! Where would you say is the best place to get the oil? I know in the video you said high end grocery stores...but I live in south Florida and we don't have high end grocery stores! Lol :)

  • @RocksinLOVe I'm not sure... I don't live in South Florida so I don't know what's around there. Any supliment/vitamin/heath store might carry stuff like that.

  • The loose powder wont all settle to the bottom?

  • @RocksinLOVe nope not if you stir it up and mix it well. some pieces MIGHT but only if it's a frosty or glittery color.

  • What can I do to add some color to this recipe? Like if I want a pinky or a redy color more so than the aggitated flush? Thanks!

  • @RocksinLOVe add a bit of lipstick that you like and melt it in, or a pigment/loose shadow product. any mineral eyeshadow or blush will work.

  • woo, feel the burn.

  • AHH MY GAWD somebody on youtube with personality! its a miracle!

  • Your eyes look amazing in that shirt :) amd im definitely trying this out!

  • I make my own lip plumper, but I really only use it in the winter to hydrate my lips because I have natural fat and plump lips and regular chap sticks just don't do the job for me. I use two steps:

    1. I mix extra virgin olive oil, honey, and sugar and exfoliate my lips with it.

    2. I do pretty much what you did, but i use the gel capsule Vitamin E because bottled Vitamin E is more concentrated. I also Use EVOO because it's very hydrating. I use Peppermint Oil as well. Hope it helps. (:

  • "don't yell at me if your lips burn and fall off" lmao! ur soo funny XD ahaha and i promise i won't! :D i like the tinglyness and burning xD

  • it would REALLY REALLY be beneficial for us viewers if you provided before and after pix of your lips, and also show the final product after the wax cooled. thumbs up this comment please so that dustin can see this :)

  • @HeyyHuda I may actually be either re-doing this video in the future and featuring that... OR post it on the blog with photos, etc. Keep your eyes out for that :)

  • @dustyohunter ok can i use peppermint oil mixed with cinnamon oil instead of cloves oil? i found a great deal on essential oils and vitamin e on ebay and i notice that a lot of lip pumpers use peppermint? just wanted to clarify

  • @HeyyHuda Peppermint oil is hydrating, which is why you find it in a TON of lip products. It's skin-irritating properties are minimal though, which makes it fall flat in the lip plumping department (some people MIGHT find it does the trick, most won't though). You can certainly use peppermint oil in a lip plumper! It will mostly add scent, flavor and moisturizing properties though :) I use peppermint oil in a plain lipstick base that I make (for mixing up custom lip colors).

  • @dustyohunter peppermint or wintergreen oil which do you recommend? im excited to make this :)

  • @HeyyHuda That's going to be a personal choice. I hate wintergreen but it's the smell I can't stand. I LOVE peppermint because it's much sweeter - Think of a "candy cane," that's peppermint. Wintergreen is more like toothpaste or mouthwash. LOL!

  • i want your eyes!!!!

  • nice smile n eye colour .......

do u do any home made lip balms my lips have become pigmented a bit wana prevent any further so if u do lemme knw.....tc

  • your eyes are pure beauty, they should make a contact color like your eyes

  • could you use a regular lip gloss to mix in?

  • @buddahbaby14 Yes, it would just be thin and glossy - Not thick like a lip balm.

  • MY LIPS BURNED AND FELL OFF. I DEMAND RETRIBUTION.

  • @ferretsrcrunchy hahaha OMG!! you are too funny ^_^

  • i must be the manliest man to admit and agree that you are beautiful... and im not gay and somehow i ended up here

  • @SaulMcknave Straight men want nice lips too! Nothing wrong with that! ;) Thanks - Glad you enjoy the vid!

  • Add some shimmer particles to your awesome mix to make them appear bigger, whatever colour you want. Plus a tiny bit of food die for a tint.

  • Are you wearing circle lenses??

  • @classictomatosoup I'm wearing contacts but just so I can see, not FX at all.

  • great idea! thank you!

  • mine came out grainy :(

  • @4everyours7 grainy is no good! well... maybe exfoliating :) here's a thought though: the cayenne pepper doesn't really disolve - it ends up just infusing the mixture. if you add a lot of cayenne you may get a grainy product (personally i've always just noticed that the cayene sinks to the bottom of the container i pour it into so it's not a big deal.

  • whats so good about having ur lips red and swollen thats horrible

  • I tried and I loved it. Also, I added some blush power to it to give a nice color. Thank you for your video.

  • Dude, you're a legend. :) I love the idea about snapping off a lip balm and using the container...it fits in my handbag better than a little tub. Also, it is a lip plumper in disguise. ;) I have a tip to share with you....Tiger Balm!!!! It rocks. It has most of the ingredients you use. Also, love the cayenne pepper thing. My lips are screaming and red. Lovin' it. Cheers.

  • @msjesswah Great idea! I used to use that stuff for it's actual purpose back when I was doing the Kung Fu thing - I'll check it out for that purpose! Thanks :)

  • I kinda changed it up a bit (well a lot)

-Burts Bees lib balm (the whole stick)

    -Cayenne pepper (half tsp)

-Some type of mint essential oil (only a few drops)

-Vitamin E capsules (2-3 broken open)

-Red Food Coloring *I like lip stains if you dont then dont put it in* :)

  • @TheMichellie Cool! Sounds like a good one :)

  • "Dont yell at me if your lips burn and fall off your face." Dude, you're killing me!

  • Thanks so much, This was so helpful!! :)

  • This is so awesome, thanks! I'm going to try this out =)

  • "Don't yell at me if your lips burn and fall off." =]

  • Are You In A Tent. ?

  • i love how elaborate you are!

  • I just made a lip plumper I used cinnamom oil in one, then peppermint oil in another, the another with half and half! This tutorial was awesome and I loved it! thank you so much!!!

  • @Sassypants90 you're welcome! it's a fun project to do :) i'm glad you liked it!

  • Great recipe. I just subscribed. Luv the vids so far. What's your sign you crazy cat.

  • @MsPinkgrl my sign? i'm a virgo :) i mention it in more than a few videos. lol!

  • i burned my lips and they fell off........... lol jk!! this worked great!!! thank you so much!

  • It would have been nice to see some before and after pictures..

  • @shaling19bigsis all lip plumpers all work the same. and they all work differently on different people. i've never seen ANY plumper make MY lips larger, just a little more full and soft looking :) if i wanted to actually make my lips LARGER, then i'd be looking into cosmetic surgery as an option. some people actually DO get larger lips from lip plumpers though! you'd have to try it for yourself to see what works best for you :)

  • Thank you so much for this vid! I'll let you know how mine turns out. I cant wait to make it.

  • Haha I Love you, your personality is amazing. (:

  • I use pretty much the same method, except I use chili oil (also homemade) But doesn't taste nice like clove would...

    I'll have to experiment :)

  • Alton Brown!!

  • @poznekoffz Number 4! LOL! :)

  • Awesome. This totally reminded me of Alton Brown from Good Eats lol!

  • @DeadGirlSuperstar103 you are the third person to say that in comments on my videos :) there is actually a good reason for the similarity but that's a story for another day (and no, i'm not sleeping with him) lol!

  • Haha, Love this guy! <3

  • This is great! Thank you so much for posting this video. I love lip plumpers but they are very pricey.. I just bought cinnamon oil, clove oil and vitamine e oil. I'm ready! :D

  • Great video ! An Irish guru called Lil Kiva sent me to your channel, your videos are wellll good :)

  • To make it dry faster u can put it in the freezer for like 5 minutes and that works just as well

  • This is so cool, I've never even heard of a lip plumper before. Awesome. ^_^

  • your eyes in preety :D

  • This is a great recipe. There IS a product like this that you can buy online (I've only found it on ebay). It's called STUNG! and it comes in a little rollerball tube. It's very strong, has a nice oil base (olive oil, if I remember right) and definitely gives that burn. It also has a hint of wintergreen oil, which I think would be the only thing I'd add to this recipe.

Alternatively, maybe using Burt's Bees lip balm would be good. The mint and the spice fit nicely and it's very waxy (obviously)

  • Also, another tip is that a lot of high-quality EOs and base oils are available online. I usually hit up Coastal Scents.

  • @luciusfluff Thanks! Since making this video I've discovered my new FAVORITE lip balm too! I make an ultra-strong lip plumper just like this one, then mix it 50/50 with MAC's Lip Conditioner SPF15 (the one in the pot). It smells like cinnamon and vanilla and keeps my lips SO SOFT! (plus it makes about 6 sticks of finished product - plenty for awhile!)

  • @dustyohunter Oh that sounds yummy. I'll have to give it a shot. Happen to know where you can buy empty tubes for this or is it just better to use one you already have?

  • @luciusfluff You can buy empty tubes all over the place. I've bought them from several different stores on-line over the years... Do a search for something like "empty lip balm tubes" or "twist up lip balm tubes" and you'll find a ton of links! Some places sell tins and pots that you can put this in as well :)

  • you're funny, you have gorgeous eyes and beautiful skin and your vids are great ! ^^ hehh please check out my videos too! :))

  • who are your favorite youtube makeup gurus?

  • @margiek86 I watch so many videos from so many people! It's difficult for me to sit through 10 minutes (or more) of someone who doesn't smile or laugh though - My favorites are the gurus who show a sense of humor in their videos :)

  • Dead on, anyone who is worried about the idea of DIY lip plumper, read your store-bought's ingredients: Dustin's ingredients are commonly used in plumpers (capsaicin is the chemical in peppers that make them hot!)

If you are going to run out and buy one, look for one that contains Peptides- they stimulate the skin's ability to produce collagen, Peptides are the only thing that I know of in the plumper market that could potentially make a long-term difference!

  • You have beautiful skin!!!!!!!!!!

  • You have so beautiful eyes !!!

  • Ahhh I really want to make this, but was hoping for a rough guide of how much of each essential oil, cayenne pepper, Vitamin E Oil, etc...you use per tube of Carmex! Thannnks. (:

  • @allie32091 use the trial and error method when you make this - i've found that every brand of essential oil is different (some are much stronger than others). they'll all work, but you'll get the best results from playing around with the ratios (it's a fun project to do with a friend... you also might need an extra pair of lips after awhile! lol!). the vitamin e oil though: anywhere from 3-10 drops works just fine. good luck and have fun :)

  • Haven't made a lip plumper on my own, but I HAVE accidentally gotten cinnamon oil on my lips, and you aren't kidding about the burn. OUCH! Even a tiny dab will bring on some serious hurt.

Great video. You're adorable and quite entertaining to watch!

  • Excellent tutorial! Thank you so much!

  • how many drops of each essential oil do you use in one set of carmex? could you possibly write the 'recipe' under the 'more info' section? :)

  • @skoglund1989 the recipe varies greatly depending on how strong i want to make it and what brand of oil i am using (some are stronger than others).

i recommend testing as you go to make sure it's the proper strength. you may need to have a friend with you (that's what i do) as after a few tests, your lips might not be able to tell anymore! ;)

that being said - i will try to come up with something solid (including brands of oil), if i can i'll absolutely post it and let you know asap!

  • I love the style of your videos! Keep it up ;)

  • Your eyes are mesmerizing, and they match your shirt! lol

  • Lol, I can' believe I watched this the whole way through! Haha. (make up and stuff isn't exactly an interest of mine)

It was interesting, I assumed you would have used some weird suction cup thing, I know nothing about this stuff really :p

  • Thanks! This was really helpful, I've never seen a lip plumper tutorial on here before.

  • Love this, Dusty! So thorough ;)

My lips are ultra sensitive, haha. Lip plumpers & I do NOT get along. DuWop's Lip Venom made me want to crawl into a hole and die!
