  • Goodbye dumbbell..

  • I snapped some shit up in my back with the getting up part.

  • i love secrets

  • All ppl saying this lift was weak r jealous fuckin losers, cus 125's r hard

  • Very impressive man, thats a lotta power, u usually go light to show form but thats crazy weight

  • props for liftin the 125s scott! thats legit man!

  • 125's yeahhh buddy!!

  • 125s? Geez.

  • I'd be too scared to try that with the heavier dbells. I do basically the same thing, except I pull the dbells as tight to my core as possible and slowly rock back into the prone position so I can drop my feet to the floor ASAP. Good on you for doing your way, under control with 125s.

  • @ 0:43 your going to snap some shit up in your back with that pick up man

  • scott your getting fat!!

  • im 12 and what is this

  • thiss is really helpful

  • im 4 and i can do 125's 30 times .............

  • LOL at some of the comments on here...

    ..yeah, I'm 11 years old benching 125's 10 times.

  • Awesome.

  • im 15 and i can do 120 1 hit

  • I'm 17 and can do the 120's 10 times and I'm lighter then you Scott only been lifting for two years your weak and why you have your shirt off is one thing why your so weak is another either way I don't see how your in the position to be giving fitness advice

  • @TheYoungShot People don't go to the gym to show off. It's all about looking your best. Some people are born with more muscle fibers than others. Hence their lifting potential is higher.

  • @TheYoungShot You're an idiot.. You dont have to be jacked out of your mind to give fitness advice. Its all about how you do it and he explains it pretty well. From your dumbass comment I know for a fact that you're bullshitting about what you think you can do... Also if you are so strong then you dont need this advice, try going to an English class or something so you dont sound like such a fucking retard when you post stuff on YouTube. lol

  • 125 pounds is equivalent to 56.7 kilograms

  • @rakokako fuuuurrk i do 20kg lol

  • @callumslim94 you are still young man! You can do it in a few years!

  • @rakokako CHEERS BRAH

  • this guy is actually a tank

  • the ad that popped up when i watched this said "is he cheating on you?"

  • thanks i really needed this tutorial lol... getting problems to start with 80s

  • he sounds like link when he breathes

  • @cramerj303 ahahahaha i knew he sounded like something!!

  • Fucj me ur strong

  • 150lbs are the highest weight in his gym listening is import to

  • at 2:33 he sounds like Link from Ocarina of Time :)

  • if i was a mosquito i would fly to that huge vain in your neck and suck ur blood

  • @mightybug7 lmfao!

  • He's demonstrating it with 40's idiots. I do my shit with 85's and I'm ripped, why? Because I do proper form, full range of motion, high reps and been doing it consistently for 3+ years. It's not about weight, leave your damn ego's at the door when going to the gym and lift how much you can PROPERLY. Trust me, in the end you will gain a whole lot more strength and muscle than if you were kicking and screaming barely doing 4 reps of a weight thats too high for you with bad form.

  • @LulzRoyce You're an uneducated fuck who is confusing being "ripped" with being "big". Mass comes from low rep high weight linear progression, if it took you 3 years to get "ripped", AKA a six pack abs and 150 lbs, then good for you, but don't spout your bullshit around here. No-one said you have to compromise form, but you still need to lift as heavier weight than you did in the previous workout, and that should be your aim every time you walk into the gym.

  • @iswatchi

hahaha I started at 145lbs at 12%bodyfat - Now 185 at 5'11 with 6% bodyfat. Which is more than you will accomplish sitting on youtube talking shit, kiddo. And ease up on the steroids, aggro boy.

  • I WANTED TO TRY THIS... BUT I TOOK A ARROW TO THE KNEES

  • Gonna have to try this. Looks like a good way to get going as it can be physically taxing to get that initial push when going heavy and get the DBs off your chest. I bet this helps squeeze out at least another rep or two.

  • Fantastic trick.

  • I'm 5'9" and weigh 135lbs. I rep 80lb dumbbells. Should I be at a heavier weight in dumbbell pressing??

  • @bclyde909 im 5"10 , 140 lbs i go 80 lb 7 full reps, bench 185 lbs for 7 full reps, i think pound for pound for our height, its about the highest we can go ? cause i've hit a plateau for chest and i cannot lift better than what i mentioned

  • @A3znqaey there are power lifters how can bench 2x+ their body weight you should try doing a drop set from your working weight at the end or your work out or use a smith machine to practice heavier weight if you don't have a spotter

  • @bclyde909 stop lying to yourself and gagging for attention.

  • That is one hell of a way to ramp up to 125.

"we'll try the heaviest dumbbells we have"

  • Does this give the exact same workout as a barbell benchpress?

  • Now THIS is a handy tip. I've gone from bbbp to dbbp and it seemed like just a matter of time before getting some kind of shoulder injury from that awkward setting up with the dbs from the low position. thank you thank you thank you

  • You are fucking ripped

  • @HelsinkiSmashRod so misinformed. I seriously hope no one takes your advice, because they'll be very disappointed.

  • @7heAteles lol, it works.

  • Awesome! 125!!! XD

  • im 9 and i can press 400 for twelve reps :/ right....

  • Oh, and great job with the 125lbs dumbbells! I liked your grunt, as I know that helps with the reps. Also: 2:46, you're like "Yeah *****, take that.": haha

  • Thank you, this will help me get more reps. with 120 lbs. :)

  • Nice job with those 125's!!

I max out at like 90's

  • im only 13 years old.. is 20lb good? its not the most i can weigh, but i can do alot of reps

  • im 15 and i can bench 100lbs db press .. wish they have heavier db in my gym :/

  • @zarol95 im 12 and can do 120... fuck up

  • @ps3hacker101 wooow ur so strong for ur age? u should film it cos ppl will be so proud of u .. ur just a fake lonely bastard so just stfu u dickhead! cunt! fake shit if u really can bench 120lbs post u video i wanna see it.. just dont be a dick

  • @ps3hacker101 I'm 8 and I do 125s bitch.

  • I dont get how these guys bench and curl so much yet have no mass..hmmm..something wrong there..lol

  • is it good that im only 16 and benching with 50's?

    or should i increasethe weight?

  • @OpTicZoomPS3 you should at least be at 110... relax bro. Do what you can. Don't worry about the weight, worry about the results.

  • @srvfan04 Just got up to 120 today :)

  • @srvfan04 You do realize that you contradicted your self with that comment?

  • @stoked166 you realize that sarcasm exists in the world?

  • @OpTicZoomPS3 Shut up mate

  • @kas0016 wow what the hell they have sensors in ur gym thats stupid i hate this no dropping weights thing my gyms the same alltho no sensors yet. they just dont wana pay for repairs as is aparant by the state of some of the dumbells in my gym

  • those r lbs not KGs people if they were KGs hed be bigger but still very impressive

o and thanks man ur videos r very helpfull i will encorperate this tech in my next bench session

  • hes always got a lil led in his pencil doesnt he?

  • Thats 40 Not 4 ... lolz

  • that a boy scottie throw those weights around

    WEAK

  • Nearly dropped those 125's!

  • some help, please. my barbell bench has been stale, actually going down. i was doing 350 a few mos ago, now barely 325. today i tried dumbells, haven't used them in years. i could barely do 4 reps w 110s, and it felt awkward, my wrists were all twisting and shit. do i just need more practice, and will they increase my bb bench also? thanx, anyone.

  • I thought american gyms had bigger weights than the UK:L how come they only go to 125? (i can can only do 80lbs but still:L) My gym has weight that go to 75kg which is like 165lbs

  • Tank

  • is this lbs or kgs? :S

  • i tried this with shakeweights lol

  • shit... a dumbell is already heavier than me

  • I would have started out with the 125s, then would have gone to another gym where they have 200s.

  • thor??? that last dumbbell looks like the fcking Mjölnir.

  • Scott ur a beast i like ur grunt. sounds martialarts like..@ 2:33..I can tell ur grunt and exhaling and "shhtt" sounds r tuned in..Nice trick for dumbells too Im gonna try this next time..I can c this will really save my rotators at the end when im done with set..and will encourage me to go heavier..Since my gym has impact sensors on the ground and i cant drop them..Gay huh

  • @kas0016 Impact sensors? Why can't they just let people train? I feel sorry for you.

  • Nevermind that 40lb dumbell that took someone out during their exercise.@1:38

  • i'll stick to barbell for a couple months haha

  • I need to get more hyped up to do this technique then to actually get the weight up normally.

  • Great form, great vid

  • heeeey, someone else is actually at the gym (0:14)!!!

  • @esca8652 no, it's 'something' else...

  • How would I do this with cheap adjustable spinlock dumbbells, the ones with a bar that is really small in radius?

  • ur beast

  • i do this with 4KG and find it hard...

  • i tried this

i somehow managed to hit my collar bone

  • Thanks a TON for this video scott! I was honestly getting depressed because i kept giving up on DBs and going to BB bench because I couldnt get the weights up. Now its no problem at all. Thanks again bud!

  • Tried this, failed, looked like an idiot

    LOL

  • CHHHHHHT ZZTZTT CHHHIITT CHIIT ZHIIIITT

  • Would anyone like to give me some tips on working out for a skinny 17 year old? I'm 5'6'' and weigh 120. I'm using this routine, Westside for skinny bastards part III

  • pectorials round and unaesthetic

  • @NSblogAustralia You aint ZYZZ BABY!

  • @nairb2693

    HHHHNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

  • Good job Scott heavy ass weight for a guy like you you inspire me

  • 02:37 - Dragonball Z

  • ahah love when u put in the edits ahah e.g. 5 stars for 125lbs :P

  • i hate getting it up, puts me off doing chest

  • I tried this the first time, and needless to say, the execution was less than perfect. I'll keep trying until I get the hang of it.

  • fuck yeh 125 u beast

  • Great tuition. I really like your videos

  • jesus tittyfucking christ! 125 lbs in each hand?! crazy stabilizer muscles there lol

  • @samurai7411 You noobs think 125 is heavy?? Ronnie Coleman does 11 reps easily with 200lbs dumbells in each hand...look it up :D

  • @PistolStar21 I'd imagine Ronnie Coleman is just a bit heavier than 170-180 lbs, however, so the comparison is a little unfair.

  • @Comanche1123 Lol true, he weighs 330lb in the off season actually, 310lb competition, but it's still fun to watch ;)

  • @Comanche1123 u serious? ronnie is easy ~300 lbs.

  • @Zolkz1Zneew I was making a sarcastic understatement when I said he was "a bit heavier" than the aforementioned weight.

  • @PistolStar21 But look how big Ronnie is compared to Scott...

  • 38 people dislike this video because 40lb dumbbells were not a light weight for them. in fact it was their max

  • @Knuckledragger80 too real life. feelsbadman.jpg

  • How is this a "trick". Its common sense.

  • @johnnyjayramone You'd be surprised how many people would never think to do this, or even anything similar to.

  • I'm totally using this trick. Thx!

  • Its much safer to use Powerhooks suspended on an Olympic Bar. You still waste energy lifting the weight into position.

  • this dude is great. i like his sarcasm.

  • When I Tried This The Dumbells fell in my face :)

  • Wow strong chest. Excellent job lifting those 125s.

  • you grabbed 40lb for lighter ones lol?? what do u get for heavy ones?

  • planet fitness has 130s and 140s :o but everyone who can use them got kicked out...

  • lmfao I'm bench pressin 15 in each hand at 14 yrs old. Is that good? (They're the heaviest ones i currently have)

  • @TehBlaCkKeed it depends how long youve been working out, im 13 and ive been doing dumbell press for 10 months and i can do 60 in each, it just depends on your form, not the wieght

  • @TehBlaCkKeed not really... depends on your weight though

  • He knows the word momentum. But doesnt know which finger is the index finger. If it wasn't for his videos, he'd serve no purpose in this world at all.

  • damn.

I'll be satisfied if I could just bench 50 pound dumbbells, 10 reps.

  • @kenzzzhou You say that, but when you get there, its nothing. Work hard

  • @reiVond You said it man

  • nice ass and bulge

  • It's a great trick, but it's not yours. I've seen Ronnie Coleman do the same thing, but with dumbbells that make yours look like peanuts!

  • its funny seeing all the people who talk shit about this, im sure most of them never been to the gym and just need a reason to say something. lol keep doing you dude these tips help doesnt matter what people say cause they dont know how to lift.

  • YOU WERE ON THE REAL WORLD

  • i wouldnt suggest picking the dumbbells up from the bench off the ground like you did...

  • 56kgs on the last set. I reckon he's a 2 rep max on those bad boys

  • i almost slipped off doing this

  • I love how this guy teaches the semi correct way to do things lol.

You're a d bag. Try using weights you can manage.

  • i could bench 1 of those 125's. lol what a beast

  • lighter dumbell and the guy picks up 40's

  • @ShiftConttrol 40s is easy man, i do 70s myself on flat bench. incline its a little harder

  • @ShiftConttrol 40 lbs is light...jesus have you been lifting for like a week?

  • @iswatchi its not light when it falls on your face...

  • @iswatchi haha i was thinking the same thing. 40 to some might be a lot for like curling but for chestpresses it really is "light"

  • @iswatchi ur an idiot.... did u know that people come in different sizes?

  • @ShiftConttrol 40 are very light no offense :P

  • @MyNaMeIsMaXiFy Not everyone is strong enough to consider 40's as 'light'.

  • @McL0vable maybe you just start :P they will be soon enough

  • @MyNaMeIsMaXiFy maybe he's confused with dumbbell fly

  • @FacckUtube probly yes

  • @ShiftConttrol 40's aren't heavy... unless you're new to the gym then i guess

  • @GuitarProject lol I remember in high school when 40 lb dumbells were heavy to me..

  • @ShiftConttrol 40s are light

  • @r3never Not to some people

  • @r3never fuck you

  • @CommunityTroll YOUUUU MAAADD?! :D

  • @r3never 9gag?

  • @ShiftConttrol I'm 15, 5' 2 and I use 40's to warm up...

  • i fucking fell off the bench doing this... i had two 65's and my butt wasnt all the way on the bench and i fucking slipped off. mind you i only weigh 145lbs.

  • 125s, holy shit lol

  • is that pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Good trick, it is easy on your shoulders for the first rep

  • Quick the Dumbbells are escaping 1:34

  • @robboultimate Haha r0fl

  • Nice form with the 125's.......... . . . .

  • What's the difference between a Bench Press and an Incline Chest Press?

  • 125lbs.. thats like a midget with a backpack

  • I would say doing that is a major risk to lose balance when keeping the arms straight after leg raise. Instead do the first part, but only drop them on your chest and lay down. Then press the first rep normally. If you can't get the first rep up, its too much weight anyway, like it is for this guy.

  • @termis2 I think this is quite true from personal experience just from watching this vid, i haven't tried this technique yet but I had the exact same thought ternis2... its kinda scary bringing to that position with your arms straight and motion into the air... weight will be way to heavy to get it up that high at the beginning... many of us doing heavier weights need that spot so therefore we bring it up from our chest.

  • thank you, a few years ago i ran into a huge injury, i dislocated my shoulder, tore my labrum to the point where my doctor said it was the worst he had every seen and also encountered nerve issues called axillary nerve palsy which is only found in about .5% of all dislocations, a year after 2 surgeries i benched 245 lbs. raw for a max and started to do dumbbell bench to increase my stabilization, getting dumbbells into the proper position is very hard for me but i am sure this will help, thanks!

  • nice form buddy! thanx for the trix.

  • wtf is the point in this? LOL

  • poor guy

  • i tried this and i farted..
