Nice catch. If I can give you one word of advice it would be not to reel when the drag is going. That twists your line up so much and next time it might be a 10+ and it will snap ya. Only time you can reel when drag is being pulled out is if it was a baitcaster (level wind) type reel. Someone mentioned all those fish going by were smelt but if you look at the size of the tube jig and the fish the fish were 10 times bigger. Sure weren't smelts
If i saw that group of trout under my hole i wouldn't talk loud at all, i would whisper to my buddy and try to get a few in, they're sensitive to noise, your lucky you got to see that
I thought that would be the answer but I have lost too many fish from the snap swivel opening up! Frustrating!! I always tie straight on to the lure now.
@ShutUpAndFishCanada Do you use the good cross lock snaps? Never had that happen with those. I like using these snaps in general because its easier to switch up (especially in the cold). When its perch and smalleye I like fly fishing snap hooks.
I take the sled from Gilford road and find about 100 feet of water. They just put gates up at Gilford though...I don't know whats gonna happen this winter :(
@ShutUpAndFishCanada thanks. ive never ice fished before. i live in new jersey, and where im from, theres no big lakes, like this (only about a mile long). this is something ive always wanted to do. great videos!
tighten your drag up dude, i don't care what line you got on their, a minnow could run on that shit. if he need line, flip over anti reverse and givem line
never fished there but always wanted to man, great video

Tube jigs and line twist....not what you want.
RaguelAngelofBalance 2 months ago
@RaguelAngelofBalance
No we learned from this. Camera man must reel in his jig before filming! We lost about 50 yards of line that day!
ShutUpAndFishCanada 1 month ago
@ShutUpAndFishCanada Ah! Otherwise use a small snap swivel.

@RaguelAngelofBalance
I used to use the bass pro snap swivels cause they are the cheapest. I will have to give good cross a try! Thanks!

@ShutUpAndFishCanada No problem. Just don't cheap out on tackle and think stealth.
