  • never fished there but always wanted to man, great video

  • @GoingBrushless4X4

You should definitely get out on Simcoe! Its got tons of good sized fish! Well worth the trip!

  • beautiful ice

  • @GoingBrushless4X4

Yeah we were pretty lucky to have clear ice like that!

  • those are herring!!!!

  • hah...big lake trout...

  • Maybe you could have reeled him in faster and tired him out faster by tightening your drag just a tiny bit even though it is only 4 pound test

  • @TheMKoutdoors

Yeah I just didn't want to take the chance of breaking the line!

  • you mother fuckers and your 4 pound test...

  • Georgian bay is pree good. Caught a 37 lber there

  • @TheKneepain

Wow thats a BIG fish! Did you get it on video?

  • They tire out faster when the drag is stronger just enough to let him take it -but nice catch .

  • Nice catch. If I can give you one word of advice it would be not to reel when the drag is going. That twists your line up so much and next time it might be a 10+ and it will snap ya. Only time you can reel when drag is being pulled out is if it was a baitcaster (level wind) type reel. Someone mentioned all those fish going by were smelt but if you look at the size of the tube jig and the fish the fish were 10 times bigger. Sure weren't smelts

  • If i saw that group of trout under my hole i wouldn't talk loud at all, i would whisper to my buddy and try to get a few in, they're sensitive to noise, your lucky you got to see that

  • why dont you fish for those smelt

  • @MegaTroutFishing haha good idea we catch them in the summer using nets its pretty fun and they make great bait

  • see you on the ice!!!! COOCH IS GOOD TO GO

  • @PGood87

I can't wait! This part of Simcoe is still open water right now though! And with a forecast of +6 today it's not gonna help! :(

  • Tube jigs and line twist....not what you want.

  • @RaguelAngelofBalance

No we learned from this. Camera man must reel in his jig before filming! We lost about 50 yards of line that day!

  • @ShutUpAndFishCanada Ah! Otherwise use a small snap swivel.

  • @RaguelAngelofBalance

I thought that would be the answer but I have lost too many fish from the snap swivel opening up! Frustrating!! I always tie straight on to the lure now.

  • @ShutUpAndFishCanada Do you use the good cross lock snaps? Never had that happen with those. I like using these snaps in general because its easier to switch up (especially in the cold). When its perch and smalleye I like fly fishing snap hooks.

  • @RaguelAngelofBalance

I used to use the bass pro snap swivels cause they are the cheapest. I will have to give good cross a try! Thanks!

  • @ShutUpAndFishCanada No problem. Just don't cheap out on tackle and think stealth.

  • I got a nice 15 pound lake trout in canada so fun

  • @SirSpinShot

    Awesome! Big fighters!

  • @SirSpinShot idk man lake onterio 22 pound brown thats a hell of a fight

  • @camaroon4me

Thanks! I can't wait until the ice is thick enough to go get these awesome trout again!

  • nice fish!! wish i could go ice fishing but i live in a desert xD

  • @gamehobo colorado best desert ice fishing lol XD i love it here

  • That was painful to watch, but nice work landing it on light line :D

  • @fullerbenny Lake Simcoe has crazy clear water! Such a fun lake to fish cause you can usually see the strike!

  • So that's just an ordinary bass tube with the tail cut off??? What size jig head are you running with that set up???

  • @FRDMANN27 ,Yeah they like the white colour with a 1/2oz jig head. Give it a try!

  • @Conger1983 A white tube. Cut the ends off so its just one solid piece.

  • is that off of line 7 of oro medonte?

  • @squirrlehunter101 line 7. You ever fish there?

  • dont grab trout by the gills unless ur going to keep them bcs if u release them after u grabbed them by the gills the probably will die

  • @bullhead11000 Thanks for the tip. I kept this guy.

  • tighten your drag up dude, i don't care what line you got on their, a minnow could run on that shit. if he need line, flip over anti reverse and givem line

  • @313foxbody420

Haha yeah I could've tightened it up a little bit more but this did the job!

  • @313foxbody420 Haha thanks dude...just didn't wanna risk breaking the line. I got some new power pro ice line now :)

  • uhm, how do you get 10 hours with no fish until now, when there is 500 schooling at your feet

  • @313foxbody420

Those were bait fish and we were goin for the lakers..we missed a few but it was a slow day. Not actually 10 hours it was an exaggeration.
