  • Also, whilst iam on a little bit of a rant after your piss take, this loco isnt a museum piece,it actually works for a living for the railway but doesnt have a regular income like Daves do/did,I invite you up to Embsay so I could give you a personal guided tour of our very well done cooler group mods, then you could slate the mods to my face,I would then show you the error of your thoughts,Your remarks stink of an armchair preservationists,do you actually volunteer on any preserved loco's ??

  • Shouldnt a 14 have 14 rads rather than 56 rad elements? Is this not the museum business? Where items are shown to future generations preserved as they were in the past??? Not with this 14. Preserved as you wish, historically bastadised and not representative of a 14 at all. Dave Hartley (co owner of D9520, engineer of D9504, D9516, D9520, D9523, D9529, D9537) told me it was a couple hundred quid to restore class 14 rad elements, via a company in London. You choose to modify instead. Shameful

  • @CRISIS550166 ,Your obviously looking for a kick off with critical remarks like that Mr Crisis,ok,in answer to your slating of this mod, first off Dave Hartley who I have spoken to a few times has spare original elements,we on the other hand had none !!! i.e 2 big holes where they should of been after being "Liberated" whilst at Ashington, now a couple of hundred quid will get you re cores using your old end caps NOT brand new complete elements, times this by 22,you do the sums !!!!!

  • Noisy old goat. Nice.

  • wow officially the LOUDEST thing iv heard, EVER.

even louder than a hymek! D:

  • @66606cl66 u think thats loud type in paxman valenta, its successor which sadly arent around anymore

  • @66606cl66 yes paxman valenta which are now sadly as 22nd December All Gone, but there are Paxman Vp185s the successor to the valenta and they are found in east midland trains hsts

  • @resigamer17

I live in NE eangland and could swear that I still hear valentas whistling past every now and then?

    22 december 2010?

  • how much horsepower does that loco have because it sounds like it has a lot

  • 650 hp,its a Paxman Ventura V6

  • Once we replace the burnt out starter motor with a new one I will take another video of her starting

  • i loved this so mutch i have now down loaded it thanks my freind, eny more?

  • i thought razza was holding it up until told to hold it down

  • Your not wrong my friend, ive got it the wrong way around, well spotted

  • what was he not doing right ie what was he holding down

  • Big Razza was holding down the engine governor thus keeping the fuel racks shut, the governor when in normal operation lifts up to open the racks once a decent engine oil pressure has been detected, normally about 25 psi so theoretically preventing a low oil pressure engine start and the engine wear/seizure problems associated with that

  • trust him

  • Overheating problems now well and truly sorted kids, here's to her first full line return trip with no stops for cooling down,

  • whats the blue covered vent for?

I noticed on other videos from above it looks like an exhaust but it has only one exhaust.

  • The blue cover is actually the cooler group header tank, you will notice the large-ish blue pipe that comes from the bottom of it,that goes to the cooler group to replenish any water it may lose, you may also notice the bundle of copper pipes that head to the same spot, these are all breather pipes to stop any air traps when the system is filled

  • looking forward to next weekend.

  • SIMPLES!

  • Tsssssk

  • I knew a girl that would also suck of 4 coaches, but I think that was slightly different!lol.

  • Wouldnt mind meeting her tpvalley !!!

  • Very good - has this sorted out the overheating?

  • We will find out next weekend Dave !!!!

  • Fingers crossed - we can probably blame my cousin Frank Hutton for your problems he used to work at Ashington Central Workshops :p

  • Hellfire !
