How is 8fps possible with film? I mean wouldn't the film pretty much have to constantly move if you take multiple pictures at 8fps? You need a high speed camera lol.
Ever heard about movies? Film cameras have been taking 24 fps (or more) during the last, say, 100 years. 35mm film was actually designed for that very purpose
nikon f5s are very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very tough you cant kill them no matter what you try
I love my f5. It takes all the abuse I can throw at it. I've taken it out in rainstoms, snow storms, even beneath a waterfall once. I've banged it against rocks on hikes. Still works perfect. And if it does ever die, I can get another one for $500. Great pro camera.
@ggurov2 But what's the point in using a camera in this way?Ripping through rolls of film in seconds achieves nothing except wasting lots of money. Photography for me at least is about taking pictures that capture something extraordinary. It's about being there at the precise moment and recording an image that says something about a time,a place or a situation. So u go around blasting through film 24 hours a day? That's nothing to be proud of. Photography isn't about brand names either.
@mainandmizzen Please note this was a camera made for full time sport pros who DO NEED this kind of speed. This is not your average leica for street photography.
@korram This camera wasn't made exclusively for sports photography. It was made for press/reportage, wildlife and all other kinds of photography.Majority of good pro photographers will never shoot 8 frames per sec regardless of their subject.Anyway what has sports photog got to do with your vid post? You don't show your own pics,no awesome photos of sports.U just show how excited u r about a camera with a really fast shutter speed as if that is more important than what a camera is designed to do.
@ichirootaniguchi Actually, the F5 has special composite blades instead of the older titanium sheet curtains of the F, F2 and F3. They are more than capable of firing at top rates for a very long time without damage to the camera. These cameras were rated for in excess of 200,000 shutter actuations.
@Edgy00 ... I have the original sales brochure & it state the camera is warranted to 150,000 exposures.
However Nikon tested the F5 to over a million exposures & it still functioned correctly. Nikon claims there are many F5's still in use by people that have hundreds of thousands of exposures on them & they function perfectly.
The incredible thing about the shutter on the F5 is that it has self-testing operation which measures shutter speed each time it's fired, and corrects as needed!
say nothing against canon but good video

then your shutter DIES
you do know that continuously firing your shutter at high burst rates will destroy it faster right?
its not a 30 year old nikon F2/F3 that has a titanium shutter
