@RiverS48 you summarize 1500 pages in that short time. I speed read, nowhere near that fast- but even the people I work with refuse to believe me. Regardless of this report, I DO NOT believe this man read those papers in the two seconds he scanned down the pages. I find this impossible. How can you even catch, on average, 700 words on a page and comprehend the writings in two seconds?
Fake! I can swipe pages onto the floor even faster and deliver a shallow worthless diatribe like what this fraud has done. LOL americans will believe anything. Like jesus and shit ideas like that
@699backstab Everything he said is what you should expect from anyone who pays even the slightest attention to American policy. He didn't mention specifics, as you'd expect from someone who read and comprehended a 1500-page bill. He's a fraud and the Fox news network either failed to spot this or willingly took place in misleading media sensationalism.
@699backstab Romans 1:21-23 - "For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles."
.. don't make the same mistake dude, never be the smart 'in your own eyes' while others think you are foolish. Christ is Real.
@699backstab *Galatians 6:6-8 - "Anyone who receives instruction in the Word must share all good things with his instructor. Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. "
@yadig2012 Backstab 6:6-4 "Cancer for your family, the youngest dying last so they will have no one around to comfort them, no pain management. They will be mocked and abused by catholic priests because thats what religion does, it rapes kids"
@699backstab *Part1 : I do apologize if you have met those who claim to follow Christ, but do not love as He loved. I am here to tell you, that I am just like you, and the reason that I put my faith in Jesus Christ is not because I think it makes me better than anyone,
*John 14:6- :Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
*John 5:22- "Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son."
*John 1:14- "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. "
@zbvvc *Acts 10:36- "You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. "
*1 Corinthians 1:11- "Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ."
1 Corinthians 8:6-"there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live."
@zbvvc *John 1:1-"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."- &- *John 1:14- :The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. " God=Word=Jesus=Word made flesh
@zbvvc I apologize if you have met those who claim to follow Christ, but do not love as He loved. I am here to tell you that I am just like you; the reason that I put my faith in Jesus Christ is not because I think it makes me better than anyone, the reason why I worship Him is because I know and understand that I have made some bad mistakes, and He still loves me regardless. Christ died on the cross for my sins. Please don't let hypocritical Christians affect your view of the one true Christ.
@PizzaBlade17 *Mark 8:12- "He( Jesus) sighed deeply and said, “Why does this generation ask for a miraculous sign? I tell you the truth, no sign will be given to it.”
God's sign has been given. It is the Love of Jesus Christ which has sustained countless generations and gives all of us a sense of hope and feeling that there is "something greater!" A feeling that shows us we are more than conquerors, because for every problem we've faced in our lifetime, we have always manage to overcome it.
Noodles 9:19 "Meatball sighed deeply and said, "Why does this generation ask for a miraculous sign? I tell you the truth, no sign will be given to it. For the Spaghetti Monster is our god."
You see the Flying Spaghetti monster's sign was Meatball! Meatball loves us. He can be put in noodles, a sandwich etc..
Book of Garlic 23:9 "And Spaghetti monster laid waste to this so called god of the bible. for Spaghetti monster is the most powerful and the only REAL god"
okay in all seriousness though. I may believe in god. But here's the problem there are so many religions i just don't know which is right. Islam says it's right, Christianity says it's right, Hinduism says it's right, Judaism says it's right, Buddhism says it's right. And the problem is if I don't believe in Islam, Christianity, Judaism or any other religion I'm told to that i shall burn.
Why doesn't god tell me or show or something that tells me whats the true religion!
@PizzaBlade17 That is a very valid question! Please check your inbox. I just sent you two URL's that will be very helpful in explaining why we should accept the freely offered and unconditional Love of Jesus Christ. Please promise me that you will read them with an open heart and mind. Please let me know when you have read them, and feel free to ask me any questions you have!
alright i read what you said, and sorry for my language, but again you're quoting the bible. the bible says it's the TRUE word of god but so does the quaran, the gita, the book of mormons. I mean, I'm an atheist and I have my reasons I respect your beliefs but I do believe you are wrong.
@699backstab *Part 2: the real reason why I worship Him is because I know and understand that I have made some bad mistakes, and He still loves me regardless, and Christ died on the cross for my sins. Please don't let hypocritical Christians affect your view of the one true Christ.
@699backstab *Part 3: I can truly sympathize for your loss. I, too, have had many Aunts and Uncles leave this earth dude to cancer, heart problems, and in the case of my grandfather, he died of a stroke. But I had never seen people handle the situation so well and stay as strong as they did, even in the midst of disease and sickness. They knew that after all the suffering they experienced, there had to be something better. A better future, even after the pain they experienced in their later days
@699backstab *Part 4: They knew that there time on this earth was merely temporary, and that there was something better in store for them in their future after they merely left this life on earth, and came into a New Life with everlasting Peace, and no pain or suffering. The Bible says that in Heaven, no pain is felt and no tears are shed, there is only joy, love, and happiness is Heaven. The Bible never says that there would not be any death on this Earth, but that after this, there is New Life
@699backstab *Part 5: And the great news is, that there is life after this, and that Life comes through Jesus Christ!! He loves us and cared enough about each of us to face the most painful and brutal death and that has ever been experienced in this planet's history just so that we can have a better Life after this one on earth, . (*Romans 5:8- "But God demonstrates his own Love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.) Then, He rose again so that we may have a New Life.
@699backstab *Part 6: And as for those who falsely claim to be Christians, but do evil, dreadful, and wicked things, the Bible places a strong warning against them:
*2 Peter 2:1-"But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves."
God will have His judgement on those wicked,, and evil men who falsely serve
@699backstab *Part 7: Those who do wrong and evil things, but claim that they follow Christ are wrong and they will be strongly punished by God, because Christ came with a Message of Peace & Love.
*John 14:27- "Jesus said: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
We , too, can have Peace in our Hearts! Just Accept Christ's Love, it is free. Ask Him to show you His Love, and He will do it! :)
alot of ppl are incapable of reading at such high speed.. i can read up to 200 words in 5 seconds, and be able to recite any of the lines perfectly, i get bullied at school for it, but i love it, it helps me get my work completed and keep my grades up
S you can do 2400 wpm with not just 100% comprehension but perfect recall? Pretty sure that would make you the fastest reader in the world if that were true...
I completely agree with sislo90, not only do I have this ability to a degree, if people were less "left brain" skeptical and did more research it would make more sense.
I can do this but not with the speed nor comprehension of him. I am at about 1,000 wpm with 75% comprehension. He is at 1,500 wpm with about 85% comprehension. -dear dumbfucks FACE!!!!
When "reading", some words are going to stand out more than other words. It doesn't matter if it's a word per page that you can recollect, as long as you are understanding the gist of the paper. After looking through 1,500 pages and memorizing main concepts through out the reading, you're going to end up with several mismatched words and phrases. And if you know the topic of the paper before you read it, like this dude, you will more than likely be able to pull a story like this out of your ass.
Its called photographic memory folks - its is awesome and is most definetly real - Unfortunetly only a few people in the world has the ability...
These people "take a mental picture" of the page (photographic memory) and let their unconsuis part of the brain process it (consuis brain can proces 16 bits info per sec - unconsius brain can process 11 million bits per sec)... This is much like some math people who say they can "just see" the answer... this is not reading like we understand it -
This guy doesnt read every word but he grasps the nouns and verbs and focuses on introductory and concluding phrases to get thte useful information. I just read this guy book and it's me help read wayyyyy faster and more efficiently. he also utilizes the silencing of subvocalization and schemas. All you haters are just mad because you're still reading at a grade 6 level.
Sure, I can read as fast as he does, but I won't understand a text at all. Look at his fucking eyes, he's not reading at all, he is just starring at the structure of that fucking text! Give him 5 minutes to read a book and then ask him at least 10 questions about this book and I'm so fucking sure that he'll fuck up!
@tommylehman its not about politics here. its just them wanting to know whats in the health care bill so people can know. not everything has to be conservatives vs. liberals
You obviously know nothing about speed reading, this is possible, and it's not the fastest reading in the world anymore... Just search on the internet for speed reading or try to find some tutorials...
LMAO The man has a special talent thats for sure. Would anyone WANT to watch a movie in fast-forward? Would you rather have sex with 30 people in 30 seconds or a few in an hour? Yea you get it over with really quick but completely miss the point, to enjoy yourself & get the most from the experience. Unless you just wanna half-ass through boring material, then the skill might seem plausible
MAN! I wish I had his talent! I wish I was the worlds fastest typer and reader! URGH! At least I can do both but I just wished I had talent where I can be done with things FASTER THEN OTHERS! Lol!
Everyone seem to be concerned that he spent longer than he said he would. Did no one else notice that he was unable to answer questions about content properly?
Guiness Book of World records never tested his "claim" they put in the book, "80 pages (25,000 words) per minute is the supersonic 'reading' speed claimed by Howard Stephen Berg (b. 1949 Brooklyn, NY), who has convinced a number of T.V. hosts that he comprehends and remembers what he has scanned, perhaps not the details, but the concepts, with the details left for a later, slower reading."
Howard S. Berg, The world's biggest liar. He skims 5,000 - 6,000 words/min. Not uncommon 4 speed readers
Um, guys, it's called speed reading.. The reason normal people can't read this fast is because think about how you learn how to read.. you first learn how to pronounce them, you learn to say them, you put words together in sentences, and you read out loud when you read.. "Speed Reading" takes an extremely long time, and it teaches your brain to read clumps of words, then your brain literally fills in the words that are missing.. Do your research before you say this is fake.
This IS fake. This guy has been retested under proper conditions unlike guinness world records who literally took his word without any testing and he only read 5000 wpm. 5000 is more believable, but in this context not likely
I'm a speed reader at around 1500wpm. It is literally impossible to read an entire page in the time he did because of physical constraints. It is PHYSICALLY impossible because human peripheral vision can only stretch a few lines before going totally blurry.
@EpicAthiest i'm leaning towards your argument. although he is extremely fast, im assuming he read it before and this was just a show. i have just recently been improving my speed, i started a couple of months ago at 1000 and im now at around 1700. at MOST my eyes can take in a paragraph at a time, nothing like this.
@EpicAthiest Howard Berg is awesome! He is the nicest and most genuine guy. I met him at a hypnosis convention last week and, yes, he really is reading (and retaining) all that. There is a learned technique to it using the power of the subconscious mind and autonomics. He is in essence watching it like a movie instead reading of line per line. He sped up my own reading abilities by 30% in less than 10 minutes. He sells his knowledge in packages on his website. I'm buying it for my kids!
@EpicAthiest Him "being nice" wasn't the point I was making. That was just a bonus observation. The method of using the subconscious mind and the autonomic nervous system is what I was referring too. If you study hypnosis, you will learn how to tap into that larger part if the brain where it is possible to do such things. As he "reads," it plays like a movie in his mind, and that's part of how he retains the info. It would indeed be impossible to read that fast using your conscious mind alone.
The idea of a "subconscious mind" sounds cool to the normal person, but there is no evidence to suggest that this mind even exists and the idea that we use only 10% of our brain is not true. Throughout the day, we use 100% of our brains. As far as evidence is concerned, it falls in the bag with other pseudosciences like telekinesis and telepathy which also claims to use a "subconscious mind" for power.
@EpicAthiest That is a very ignorant and uneducated answer. The subconscious mind is a term used for the larger part of your mind. And real neurological effects occur during trance and can be scanned via fMRT. If I hypnotized you, you would not be a skeptic when your butt gets stuck to the chair and can't move until I give the command to release it. But believe what you want. I don't care. It's not worth arguing with a naysayer who doesn't take the time to learn the facts.
The subconcious mind referred to in science is not the every day connotation.
After we consciously percieve something, it is then transfered to short term memory. This is the conscious mind. This is then transfered to long term memory, known as the "subconscious mind".
Everything that goes into Long term memory (subconscious), must first be stored in short term memory. Everything in short term memory must be consciously percieved and processed.
@EpicAthiest Apparently, I know more than you about the subconscious since you only have part of the definition right. The subconscious stores long term memories, but it is not limited to that. It also includes billions of bits of information you pick up and process without having a conscious thought about since birth. But I'll use the term unconscious mind. That's a better description anyway. The mind-body connection is key. The ANS included. Let's agree to be nice to each other in this debate.
Apparently your definition is no different than those used by telemarketers and psychics.
You have no reliable evidence. Storing billions of information? That's merely an assumption based on an assumption.
All information must be consciously processed which is why true subliminal messages (One not percieved at all) have failed in all controlled test. Everything must be consciously observed in order to be memorized
@EpicAthiest When I say conscious, I mean the waking state in which we are talking (typing) now. The Beta wave state. We receive all kinds of information all day and retain it better when our brain waves change over to other wave states such as Alpha and Theta. The state of trance is Alpha which we go in and out of naturally in cycles all day. When we stare off into "space" or right before we fall asleep. Theta is where R.E.M. occurs. There is a part id the mind that stays "awake" (more...)
continued... called "The Hidden Observer." This is what wakes you up when you hear your baby crying in the middle of the night, or alerts you that something is wrong, etc. It's the part of the mind that protects you at all times. That's why there cannot be total mind control in hypnosis, like you see in the movies. I can put someone in trance and they can recall a memory that they picked up with ever having a conscious thought about it. I'm not talking about telekineses. (more...)
...which I don't believe in. I'm talking about just from what they observed without being fully aware of what they were observing. Like if someone loses an object. I can put them in trance and they can figure out where it is. A part of their mind saw (or felt, or heard) it slip under the rug when their conscious mind was doing something else. Now, if someone else finds the object and moves it. That would not come out of their sub-un-conscious mind b/c it wasn't observed on some level.
...and it is at this level of awareness that Howard Berg speed reads. Once you understand how to get yourself in this "zone" of hyper awareness, which can be done with enough practice, you will find that anybody can do this. You can read at this level even if you don't believe you can right now. I have hypnotized lots of people who didn't believe they could be hypnotized. They leave my office totally amazed, but it's their mind doing all the work. I just know how to guide them.
I just read the old man and the sea, took me roughly a week, I rekon the book is about 100.000 words long, you're telling me this man can read this book in 4 minutes?...
I don't see how this is possible. As a matter of fact, I call bull shit. Even if he could read that fast how could he comprehend what he is reading?!?!?!?!
Holy cow! How can he see the whole page if he has his hands on the bottom ready to turn it?

It is the Love of Jesus Christ which has sustained countless generations and gives all of us a sense of hope and feeling that there is "something greater!" A feeling that shows us we are more than conquerors, because for every problem we've faced in our lifetime, we have always manage to overcome it.

okay in all seriousness though.

The Bible never says that there would not be any death on this Earth, but that after this, there is New Life
yadig2012 5 months ago 2

When "reading", some words are going to stand out more than other words. It doesn't matter if it's a word per page that you can recollect, as long as you are understanding the gist of the paper. After looking through 1,500 pages and memorizing main concepts through out the reading, you're going to end up with several mismatched words and phrases. And if you know the topic of the paper before you read it, like this dude, you will more than likely be able to pull a story like this out of your ass.

Not uncommon 4 speed readers
speedreadingexpert 1 year ago
Um, guys, it's called speed reading.. The reason normal people can't read this fast is because think about how you learn how to read.. you first learn how to pronounce them, you learn to say them, you put words together in sentences, and you read out loud when you read.. "Speed Reading" takes an extremely long time, and it teaches your brain to read clumps of words, then your brain literally fills in the words that are missing.. Do your research before you say this is fake.
mikesofaking 1 year ago
@mikesofaking
EpicAthiest 1 year ago
@EpicAthiest i'm leaning towards your argument. although he is extremely fast, im assuming he read it before and this was just a show. i have just recently been improving my speed, i started a couple of months ago at 1000 and im now at around 1700. at MOST my eyes can take in a paragraph at a time, nothing like this.
yumeybaconcutout 1 year ago
@EpicAthiest Howard Berg is awesome! He is the nicest and most genuine guy. I met him at a hypnosis convention last week and, yes, he really is reading (and retaining) all that. There is a learned technique to it using the power of the subconscious mind and autonomics. He is in essence watching it like a movie instead reading of line per line. He sped up my own reading abilities by 30% in less than 10 minutes. He sells his knowledge in packages on his website. I'm buying it for my kids!
stephconkle 10 months ago
@stephconkle
"Being Nice" doesn't make his teaching reliable. I've been a speed reader for a while and the claim of 10,000 words per minute is impossible.
Research a little bit about the history of this number. Guiness world records did not test him. They only too his words.
In many controlled tests, he couldn't read faster than 5000 words. Even with 5000 words, I doubt he's actually understanding 10% of what he read.
EpicAthiest 10 months ago
@EpicAthiest Him "being nice" wasn't the point I was making. That was just a bonus observation. The method of using the subconscious mind and the autonomic nervous system is what I was referring too. If you study hypnosis, you will learn how to tap into that larger part if the brain where it is possible to do such things. As he "reads," it plays like a movie in his mind, and that's part of how he retains the info. It would indeed be impossible to read that fast using your conscious mind alone.
stephconkle 10 months ago
@stephconkle
EpicAthiest 10 months ago
@EpicAthiest That is a very ignorant and uneducated answer. The subconscious mind is a term used for the larger part of your mind. And real neurological effects occur during trance and can be scanned via fMRT. If I hypnotized you, you would not be a skeptic when your butt gets stuck to the chair and can't move until I give the command to release it. But believe what you want. I don't care. It's not worth arguing with a naysayer who doesn't take the time to learn the facts.
stephconkle 10 months ago
The subconcious mind referred to in science is not the every day connotation.
After we consciously percieve something, it is then transfered to short term memory. This is the conscious mind. This is then transfered to long term memory, known as the "subconscious mind".
Everything that goes into Long term memory (subconscious), must first be stored in short term memory. Everything in short term memory must be consciously percieved and processed.
Seriously, do your know anything?
EpicAthiest 10 months ago
@EpicAthiest Apparently, I know more than you about the subconscious since you only have part of the definition right. The subconscious stores long term memories, but it is not limited to that. It also includes billions of bits of information you pick up and process without having a conscious thought about since birth. But I'll use the term unconscious mind. That's a better description anyway. The mind-body connection is key. The ANS included. Let's agree to be nice to each other in this debate.
stephconkle 10 months ago
@stephconkle
EpicAthiest 10 months ago
@EpicAthiest When I say conscious, I mean the waking state in which we are talking (typing) now. The Beta wave state. We receive all kinds of information all day and retain it better when our brain waves change over to other wave states such as Alpha and Theta. The state of trance is Alpha which we go in and out of naturally in cycles all day. When we stare off into "space" or right before we fall asleep. Theta is where R.E.M. occurs. There is a part id the mind that stays "awake" (more...)
stephconkle 10 months ago
continued... called "The Hidden Observer." This is what wakes you up when you hear your baby crying in the middle of the night, or alerts you that something is wrong, etc. It's the part of the mind that protects you at all times. That's why there cannot be total mind control in hypnosis, like you see in the movies. I can put someone in trance and they can recall a memory that they picked up with ever having a conscious thought about it. I'm not talking about telekineses. (more...)
stephconkle 10 months ago
...which I don't believe in. That would not come out of their sub-un-conscious mind b/c it wasn't observed on some level.
stephconkle 10 months ago
...and it is at this level of awareness that Howard Berg speed reads.
