  • fish may be borrowing a bit from genesis here and there... but he's greater than Genesis. Fact: I don't know many people today who are big fans of Genesis, on the other hand, i know quite a few for whom Fish is God :)

  • @123dworek 500,000 turned up to watch Genesis play on the last date of their last tour. C'mon now, I loves me some Fish, but hot damn....lets keep it within the bounds of reality LOL

  • Fish always has a good bit of banter at his gigs! really has time for the fans and always signs autographs. this is class! seeing him in september, cannot wait!

  • 3 people dislike..they never were in a Fish gig!!!

  • Well this is just sad.... why did you have to destroy your voice with all those cigaretts, drugs and alcohol FISH.... and the band just sucks... They are no Marillion these guy... The version on thieving Magpie is the last version with a FISH whom had a singing voice left to do these classics justice....

  • It's a good thing none of you are politicians. You'd start wars over your opinions about music. Duh. A Quaker saying: "Don't speak unless it improves upon the silence."

  • Genesis copy.

  • Great song, touching, sensitive

  • I know what you mean, I strongly disagree with you saying it's a "Genesis imitation". Peter Gabriel is the shit but he doesn't "own that sound". I like you for knowing that it's better than most crap on the radio these days though.

  • you must be tone deaf if you think Frank Usher is better than Steve Rothery........Steve Rothery wrote the music for Sugar Mice, the man is a genius.End of...........

  • frank usher is crap........not a patch on the genius that is steve rothery!

  • @whitweedug eh? You are talking out of your arse - obviously

  • Fish est et restera toujours fish, par contre il manque steven rothery et sugar mice sans steven c'est pas pareil.

    merci pour la video

  • It's just a Genesis imitation! Okay, better than a lot of stupid music that the radio stations are airing all the time, but let's reckon that the spiritual property of this sound is own by Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett & Co.

  • @panovideo No where in the fucking line says you can't have a similar sound to another band... Fish is amazing. Have you heard his songs? Yeah probably not... So if your not gonna give Fish any credit for being a talented writer or singer... THEN FUCK OFF!.

  • @Gettotaco

Hey you dumbass, can you read or not? If yes, please read my post again, maybe you'll understand it --- if you know the difference about "sound" and "composing", you brainless worm!

  • superb vid thanks for that

  • It's still great- but It's truly sad that he has had the vocal issues- and has to tune everything down, in this case one and a half steps. Usually singers who use the strengthened falsetto just keep getting stronger; Get well soon Fish.

  • Oh god... Marillion was a like a rain with son in the rock progressive world. Sweets notes and amazings screens in your melodys... Tanks Fish... We are like a little ships in your musical ocean..FROM VADILSON - BRAZIL

  • do you agree this song is not the same without Steve Rothery??

  • Absolutely. Still good, but Rothery's solo was magnificent.

  • mate..did u realize u're listening Fish and not Marillion?? Great Frank I love the way u play this song!!

  • I love "sugar mice", agreat song, truly a classic one! great to hear Fish :-) gotta love the big man...he's so funny , what the hell is he talking about at the beginning? (I couldn't understand his scotish accent...) LOL

  • i dont get one thing, does fish use the same voice range of peter gabriel on purpose or does that come inadvertently, anyways, the vocal style beetween classic marillion and classic genesis is quite similar, they set apart in the instrumentation side

  • This is definately prog rock, great stuff!!

  • This video shouldn't be labeled as "Progressive Rock".

  • I DO NOT mind about a stupid label, this is Fish..and he has a lot to explain to u about progressive!

    Watch your mouth.

  • Watch my mouth?

  • Kocham go.. :D

  • Long live "the big man".

  • Looking forward to seeing the Big Man in LA in a couple of weeks.

  • it doesn´t matter "what" it is, it is FISH! and fish is amazing....

  • it does matter what it is, its a cover of marillion and marillion is one of the fuckin greatest progrock bands of all time!

  • well, Fish is the former Marillion singer and wrote this song, so it´s not really a cover!!

  • but its not really not a cover ;)

  • well.. . maybe you´re right ;-) he covers his own song :-D

  • well he dont really covers his song but the other band members does^^

  • @wildKat82 Co wrote

  • actualy this is not progressive rock...

  • Well this is not King Crimson of course, but it's still progressive. Reminds me a bit of Genesis, and if Genesis is not prog, then what is?

  • Not all Genesis songs are progressive. This is for me just kind of soft rock...

  • TravelChampion...thank you for upload Fhis!

I fully agree with you Fish is not only a front man, lyrics, passion, and the truly person which he is! Whenever kind with such a person like me, asking for a picture together after the gig...and always the same answer..."YES!"

Definitely a special person before a great real artist!!

    Andrea

  • I've been to Groningen and Eindhoven - this man is still amazing after all those years!

  • I just came back from the tour in Eindhoven, Holland and it was f%@#g brilliant.FISH,your STILL(!!!!!)the man.

  • Yes it was me telling Fish i'm from Caerphilly. What a gig, please come back soon! Ps do you have any more songs from this gig to post???

  • I was there and thought the show was brilliant as is the new album.

  • Thats my hubby shouting "We are not from Cardiff" "We are from Caerphilly". I always thought something FISHY was going on.

  • Much as I love Fish - I'll be at the re-arranged Manchester gig - he sometimes looks like a tramp who has wandered off the street and decided to do a turn in the hope that pound coins might be thrown on the stage.

Voice shot too, but he still a consumate show man.

  • Fish is just a average bloke who has never been affected by the bullshit of celebrity

  • Actually I would like to retract the "voice shot" accusation.

I attended the rescheduled Manchester gig and his voice was spot on!

A brilliant gig and a wonderful performance by the Big Man!
