  • Can't wait to see y'all back and playing again! I love y'all hope y'all are doing good!

  • Love it!

  • I too have listened to about 15 versions of this song, and this is definitely the best on Youtube. Tom T's version will always be special to me cause it's the first I ever heard and he's from my county in the hills. You guys do this very well. Listening to most of the other versions reminded me of the huge difference between good bluegrass and bad. This is definitely the former.

  • Great job! The Country Gentlemen would be proud!!!

  • Great job!!

  • I have just watched 20+- versions of this on youtube.Yours is the best, even better than Zac Brown Band's version.I think it's the tempo and harmonies.

  • Hey everybody, thanks for pushing us over 100,000 views. What a pleasant surprise.

  • Um, Is the banjo player wearing a red blanket, white heeled booties and a t-shirt? And the bass player has shorts on? Nevermind, it's a nice rendition of the song.

  • Very good version, good harmonies. Ranks up there with the Country Gentlemen.

  • @MIKE9551 Thanks man! That is a very high compliment!

  • Now THAT'S the way to play it ! PERFECT !

Great job boy's , just love it.

    greetings from

    Holland.

  • I love this song.:)

I lvoe bluegrass music..Coming from a 16 year old.. Playing bluegrass now a days for kids is tough.. cuz lots of kids dont know what it is. But me, my mom, my dad & little sister sing this song.. :D <3 its amazing!

  • This is my very favorite bluegrass song of all time. It's simply a part of me. You have done it justice. :)

  • I'm thinking of taking Manfred Mann's version and bluegrassificating it. :)

  • Keep playing this one boys, I know I do !!!

  • Great work ! !

  • @snestorm05 Thanks!

  • WAESOME LADS

must have heard and played this song

    a million times!!!!!

  • Good jof guys, you should be proud of it.

  • I loved this version and im proud to say it was my uncle who wrote this song in the late 60s for manfred mann and hes Tony hazzard so look him up and you will see other great songs hes written and played and im sure he thanks every one for the great comments about the song

  • I have some records from your uncle. I bought them in the 70s in some second-hand shops and markets in London. He has written some really fine songs.

  • @JoeFroe Thanks joe,i think he did a few albums in the early 70s and i believe he could have enhanced his career as a singing artist as hes got some great songs on those albums as in i am the potter,i think im over getting over you, sweet ruby ruby nite time being my favourites, which ones did you take too.

  • Nicely done! My dad plays this song--I think it's about time I learned too.

  • Great version, guys. And that's a genuine compliment from an old bluegrasser that hates this song:)

  • Wow you guys sound great!!

    Ginger

  • Appreciate it Ginger.

  • where is the mullet? ehehe

    awesom guy! 5 stars

  • My bluegrass outfit has just started doing this tune and I think your version is superb! Nice one guys!

  • Thanks for listening.

  • From a fellow musician that was great. We also play this song but after this its off the list!!!!!!

  • I'm fortifying my soul right now!

    WOOO-HAWW!!!

    Love you guys man!

  • Wonderful singing and playing. I can only dream about playing banjo like that. Gwen

  • you lads should be fooking proud

  • Impressive

  • you all sound good as always

  • Great job on the vocals, not an easy one to sing!!!! thank's for posting, Hat's off!!!!!

  • This is the best version of Fox on the Run I've heard!!! Great Job Fellows! I watch this one at least 3-4 times a week!

  • Wow, I just did some research on this song and was surprised. It was first sung by Mannfred Mann...Emerson and Waldron joined up and changed the song to a bluegrass classic in 1968. I thought this had always been a bluegrass song...LOL I think I like it better than the original anyways! Thanks, y'all!

  • there is one band that recorded in the 30's or so it was Vernon and Waldrop, i think something like that. They recorded before rock was invented.

  • how do you... do the kickoff for the banjo please show me!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 2nd Generation is second to NONE in their quality bluegrass versions of any song!

  • I keep coming back to this version. I think it's the crisp banjo that attracts me but the whole group do a nice tight job. For those who want the original lyrics and harmony, better go listen to the Manfred Mann oldie goodie. Nice job gentelmen!

  • Great job as usual, gentlemen. Keep it up!

    -jcr

  • Great homegrown pickin' and singin'!!

  • I have listened to all of your songs.

    I love them all.

just wish I lived around you all

just to hear it everyday live.

    keep up the good work

  • I think you gents are outstanding, BRAVO

  • I've heard many versions of this song but this one is by far the best one out there, even better than "Country Gentlemen". My only criticism is that I wish it was done with better recording equipment. As far as the lyrics are concerned, I don't think that any two groups do it the same .

  • Sorry to disappoint, but it is too an old rock song. The Gents did a remake - they were very progressive that way. :-)

  • apparently u don't know what GOOD BLUEGRASS IS. but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. on this one like all the rest the good comments outweigh the bad.

  • While I also believe the Country Gentlemen did it better, this is also a GREAT version. They are sittin around pickin and grinnin, it wasnt set up to be done greatly. If you cant spot the talent in this group and realize they can BLOW THIS OUT OF THE WATER when they "Turn it on" then your clueless.

Oh, and this IS an OLD ROCK SONG, Manfred Mann, the 60's-70's ROCK group recorded it first.

  • u guys rock just keep playen exellent video

  • Outstanding harmonies and pickin'....keep up the great work.

  • Exellent!

  • thats awesome guy!!! =D that one of the best covers I ve heard of this song!!! Keep it up !!!

  • Great job guys! You own that one!

  • Sing it like you wrote it boys!!!! Great stuff!!

  • that banjo is awesome i wish i could play one..and you guys did good

  • Thanks for posting this, I love this song!

  • Well boys it is just me again enjoying your great picking and harmonizing I know I have said it time and time again but every time I listen to it it just gets better. Seriously give some thought to swinging up to North Dakota for our Bluegrass Festivals.

  • I think I just re-discovered bluegrass -- just love it -- wish there was more around here. You guys are great!!!!!

  • ohmygosh that's amazing!

i might like this more than the original.

  • fantastic, yours is undoubtably the best fox vid on you tube, looking forward to checking out the rest of your vids.

  • your playing and harmonies are right on! Pls come to Vermont and play the Belvidere bluegrass fest!

  • This is some good shit!

  • What is your banjo, please.

  • Hi,,This banjo is a Earl Scruggs Standard,Gibson Mastertone. I now have a DP Hopkins Renaissance Gold that you can hear on "Nine Pound Hammer," "Man of Constant Sorrow," "Rambling Letters" and "Next Sunday Darling is My Birthday," all videos we have on You Tube. Thanks for listening!

  • Have you ever played at Dollywood? Dolly would love you guys ;) . You truly are on the level or ahead of any country/bluegrass acts out there.

    Damn Fine job, gentlemen.

  • They nailed the tempo, hard to do, and have great bluegrass voices, truly talented

  • hahahaha... is that cool :)

  • As I was listening to this song again today I just realized that some remakes are better left slow if they were made that way but the way you guys picked up the tempo just nailed it to perfection. again great job guys you should seriously think about attending the Bluegrass festival at the Cross Ranch park in North Dakota by the way it is held in the summer.

  • i love it good job.

  • This is great!

  • I totally agree with

    americanprideinnd!

  • Excellent!

  • Man I listen to this at least once a day just to get my spirit up and remember when music was good and not garbage like it is today and when people could actually play instruments, and you didnt have to be some beauty queen to make it big just talent and a good voice or harmonizing.

anyways great job guys keep plugging away at it and you will hit her big.

  • Great comment, americanprideinnd......

Real music is what you feel inside. Real musicians share that feeling. These guys are that - You can hear that they love music.
