So, no, it's NOT just the name of the song you fuckin' moron. Just b/c the melody is different and just b/c it's a heavy version doesn't mean it's a different song. A cover does NOT have to sound like the original, that's why it's a COVER, so a band can put their own unique spin on it. I find it really ironic that YOU called everyone "idiots."

I'm so goddamn sick of sound of silence covers that don't even have the same chords as the original. All they do is borrow some of the best lyrics, then just make them suck. I have no problem with smashing pumpkins or nevermore, but christ, can't you salvage a little melody?

At least he isn't dribbling on with the same copy cat cover of the song, it's okay to sing it slow with plenty of soul.. but something else to make it your own, Billy certainly did that. Pumpkins continue to defy and spit in the face of critics and haters, so if you're one of them stop listening because Billys not going to stop.

He did good with this, all I wish for is better quality but I guess it's all we get with it being live.

I was at the show in Kansas City tonight and they played a lot of heavy rock. I really didn't enjoy it that much. Now I have been listening to SP since I was 3, when kids were listening to singalongs, I listened to Nirvana, REM, SP.. There is just little dynamic in these new rock songs, which is really what made Pumpkins Rock interesting. Now its just overplay and guitar effects overlapping eachother creating a wall of sound. The wall of sound of the pumpkins has lost its dynamic and melody.

I love the Smashing Pumpkins, I think Billy is a genius. But for crying out loud Billy, do NOT ever do THIS to one of the best songs in the history of recorded music. Get over yourself, and never disgrace Simon and Garfunkel by ruining their classic. Had he just stuck to the guitar, I would be more than impressed, but he completely trashed the lyrical quality of this song. For this, I will not forgive him.

Looking from the outside, it sucked. However, I do believe that he is a visionary for his genre of music.

It is a slap in the face to the original artist, as most covers are.
