2010 V6 Mustang Auto Hertz Rental 10-95

Just drove a rental '11 'stang from Hertz and it's a mixed bag. Off the line, not so quick and the engine bogged for some reason. Handling is nice, turning radius is insanely small. The car must have had the 2.73 axle, as the motor was only turning 2k at 82mph!! Got about 30 mpg on the freeway driving in CT, less when I got on it. On the highway, there is lots of pickup with the revs up and the 6-speed auto giving those revs up nicely. Interior is 100x better than the Camaro I tried first.

@smith61092  Yeah you are right about that. I do not drive everyday so I do not feel I am that great at driving a manual but this is my first car with manual transmission. it is fun though unless stuck in traffic at tolls/bridges...

These cars are all governed at 110....i use to have one. Pretty slow.

@jerm26554 Wow that sucks huh, they are nice "looking" cars, glad to see they added power to the 2011 ones. Even though i'm a GT big v8 fan. The body styles are a bit odd also. Wonder how you remove the govern anyways. I had an 06, v6 and wow it was slow, top speed wise. Good lookin car though.

@highlanderhybrid Funny, but you are not comparing apples to apples. Shop the Fusion at the same price point as a V6 mustang and see if you get the same stuff. Anything can get more HP if you throw more money at it. Also, the 2010 V6 can hits its numbers at LOWER RPMs:

Fusion Sport 3.5 V6

Torque: 249 ft-lbs. @ 4500 rpm

Horsepower: 263 hp @ 6250 rpm

Mustang 4.0 V6

Torque: 240 ft-lbs. @ 3500 rpm

Horsepower: 210 hp @ 5300 rpm

gelleouplus... its an auto but seems to respond well to downshifts. Yes - you can change the dash colors red, green, blue, or any combination of the three. You can also change the interior 'ambient' light colors (cup holders, door sills and such). looking back I wish I would have got the performance package/dual exhaust feature.

Nice vid. I just bought a black V6 2010 Mustang coupe the other day (V8 is out of my budget). I used to own a 94 V6 Mustang (a slug) and a 94 LT1 Camaro (a beast). I was pleasantly surprised with the 2010 V6 Stang. I test drove the 2010 Camaro V6 and it didn't sound as nice when I hit the accelerator and the interior seemed a bit cheaply made compared to the Stang. I love the Stang's ambient light feature at night.

actually i retract my previous statement, ran it at OSW best we could muster up was a 16.2, this was with a near perfect reaction time, no wheel spin, 2 people in the car, full weight. should be able to break into the 15's with a tune...6cyl, auto, vert...For the Loose
