Since there is a fraction with a bracket beside it, multiply 1/3 with (x-1) which would result to 1/3x - 1/3, now we'll just see how far we gone, 1/3x-1/3=4, so we'll have to shift the x s to one side and the numbers to the other..

@LauraChanel95 , and we know if we shift something from one side to another we would have to change the signs, 1/3x=4+1/3, 4+1/3 would be 13/3 so 1/3 x = 13/3, and times 3 to that would be x=13, and double check it by inserting to the equation, it works so the final answer is x=13. There you go.
