@salmongirl14 Yes, Anno chose this 70's record for the soundtrack as "Tsubasa wo Kudasai" means "Please Give Me Wings".

Guess what EVA Unit-01 gets in the scene where this plays.

@lich610 Yes! This is the original version. At 1971 this song is released by "Akai Tori"(mean "Red Bird").

I can't chose which i like better... The original always has an advantage and this one is damn good with all the back ups and instruments but i also love the upbeatness in the k-on! version.
