How do I remove an old 1/2" threaded fitting for a hose bib on the exterior of my home? Don't have enough exposed pipe to cut fitting off. Tried propane, Map, nothing will melt this piece off.
@conkyjoe Just a shot in the dark, for not seeing what you have. But I've heard that water laying in the pipe is cooling the solder, and locking it up. I've seen people take a saw to the bib itself just in front of the hex. Then slap some locking pliers on it and pull while you heat with a turbo tip. Hope that helps.
@BuildDotCom Thanks for the response. I stuffed bread dough into the pipe to stop dripping. It allowed me to successfully solder the joint. Oh happy day.
