They are native along the eastern US and west to Kansas & Texas, but there are similar moths in the same family that live in most countries of the world.

It wouldn't get very far, it doesn't have that strong a mouth. It only eats leaves in the hickory and pecan family, anyway.

It depends on how long they stay in their pupa. As an adult moth they live less than 2 weeks, but as a caterpillar and pupa they live longer.
