Or you could just use a one oz ladle to pour, then it's always the same thickness, most "crepe makers" i've seen were too large to pick up and dip like that, besides don't you get batter all down the edge?
Thanks for posting this. Have been looking to buy a crepe maker for ages.
Besides making crepes, do you think I can use it to make Indian flat bread such as Chapati with this? If the batter don't stick to this maker, I don't mind pouring the mixture on instead of using the dipping method. Thanks!

Thanks for showing how to use the Oster Creperie Crepe Maker. I inherited one from my Gma, but never knew how to use it! You saved the day.

Those aren't crepes.... Those are thin pancakes. And using a pan work just fine for me. Those crepe makers are useless.

"Better than pouring it into a pan which doesn't work anyway.."
hmm, I've been making thin crepes in a pan for years, no special crepe maker required.

yeah, there's no special device required, but it seems to make it a little easier to even the thickness of them

So to make crepe you just need pancake batter?
1smile1 5 years ago
pancake batter wont work
it has baking soda which will bubble
a crepe should be flat, not bubbly and fluffy
you can make batter with just milk (no water) egg flour and salt or sugar(sweet or not) and some vanilla if you like.
make sure that the batter is fairly runny
hzpiao 3 years ago 20
@hzpiao If you have the batter and wait about an hour after mixing the ingredients, the soda will finish reacting and won't make it raise
