  • The best part of this video is the fact the Akai rep is open to suggestions. I hope he sends those notes to the develops. Magic question IS STILL: Will it read all the formats of the older MPC's. I know it is advertised, but does it work?????

  • @DreadzNY he wasn't just a REP.... Dan is the project lead. so yeah... the devs got the notes he was taking ... he took A LOT of notes from us that day.

  • @flux302 That is great. Did you keep in contact? Any feedback from Akai on your suggestions? PLEASE if you did, emphasize the importance to them for this product to READ samples , SEQUENCES and PARAMETERS from ALL MPC models from the 60 on up.

  • Why does that boy think everything is darn EQ - the lights , the meter ...LOL

    I kid! -nice vid Joe!

  • @NNITRED hahahahahaha LOL

  • @NNITRED your talking about the pad lighting scheme.... because as he hit it harder it went louder it was getting more red in a similar way that an eq would work and for those of us who do live shows that would be really cool. and sir I'm 31... not a boy... a MAN CHILD LOL

  • @flux302 velocity.

  • @94style velocity what?

  • I have a speculation: They claim the 'outputs' are identical to the 3000, and the emulations are software-based. But 1) What about the inputs 2)What about bouncing a track in Logic, PT, etc when MPC software is just a plugin. Will it apply the color/warmth for plugins of the main DAW? Under its current management, I'd take generic answer from Akai with a grain of salt. We need precise details.

  • @JBlongz yeah we grilled em on it a good bit .... there is some meh questionable responses but this was something we couldn't properly test or hear in this setting....

  • @JBlongz agree man, more info as we continue to find out

  • im just glad that this is coming out and that the prices of the real samplers will go down because everybody will wanna get this

  • @YOsaawordup agreed

  • @YOsaawordup word man! lol

  • didn't they even show you the sample editor?

  • @ansiaaa666 I checked it out, seems pretty much identical to what the mpc has

  • @SoundsAndGear I hope they'll give it some upgrade by the time this is in stores... at least I wish they would take a look to how JJOS handles the editing

  • @ansiaaa666 yeah, we'll see

  • Once again the two of you are on it and its appreciated. The first rep warned the othe two about you. Lol. One thing though, he said its standalone in another vid but said its not in the vid. I must have misunderstood

  • @MsBeatJunkie standalone software

  • @MsBeatJunkie just means it can run outside of a DAW....

  • Where to send feature requests ?

  • you can have a different velocity for every pad even with the mpc 500, so it should work with the new mpcs. just go to mode - programm, hit the pad you want and adjust velocity>level.

  • @musicfromfriends no thats not really what we were asking about. we were talking about pad sensitivity curves for each pad. and also... when something is this new, you have to ask it all .... don't ever take a feature for granted. but yeah we were talking the sensitivity curves on the pads

  • lol he taking notes

  • @YEE941 yeah and thats a good thing. he actually was really cool and off camera was taking a ton of notes

  • yea for sound if they can do the asr or the roland s50 they both have that nice low end after you sample...yes that would be nice....

  • @djkaydeemix word fam

  • Also a nice little beat your pal Lux laid down there.

  • @wizztay LOL thanks

  • so how's the scroll wheel feel? hope it's not as loud & clicky as the later mpc models

  • @DiskoDaveBBB it felt chunky and solid. it was nice. I liked it.

  • @DiskoDaveBBB pretty fat/solid feeling, very sturdy

  • at 6:42 when the Rep was typing in his phone...I assure you he was not typing yall idea... he was typing to the Akai main office ..one word ...."HELP"

  • @KnockSquared hahahahahaha, you wild man!

  • @KnockSquared AHAHAHHA yeah man we had em really into the questions it was good though man. much different vibe than I got from em back in like 2000 era...

  • What did he say about audio tracks? mmumumble, mummmble?

  • @mrgrinch coming in an update

  • @mrgrinch that it would be coming in a later update.

  • What about the rex file support....can I load a rex file to one pad like Maschine?

  • is it going to have bit reduction like my 2500??

  • @RewtsTheOne didn't check, I imagine it would have similar fx and editing options

  • @RewtsTheOne yes

  • You are the man! your coverage is so thoro...I cant wait to get this!!!

  • @KingHanma thanks fam, glad yall dig it!

  • Yall are getting there with your questions. I see some organization and planning went into this go round.

  • @BuildABergGroup just tried to ask the questions I forgot

  • Man, this Akai tech-rep dude had to be on his game SJ! You and your boy Flux was hittin' him with some deep relevant questions. There were a few times when he was lost for certain terminology and you gave him the correct term. lol We really appreciate the time and effort you took to put these videos together bro. Great job!! Keep 'em coming!

  • @4iamu word. great job with these. I don't think i've seen other namm vids where so much was asked of the rep and much less where he ended up taking notes!

  • @rockhills Word!

  • @rockhills we are tech heads man, we ask stuff we want know for real

  • @4iamu yeah man, he held his own, had really good answers

  • @4iamu thanks man.... we just love gear.. same as you :)

  • nice thanks
