WHITE TRASH????? I GOT AN OUTDOOR FURNACE! if you people want smoke i'd switch to soft coal and show you smoke. what a bunch of ball babys, most of you probly smoke cigs in your house but bitch about the neighbors stove. get a life and dont get mad all becuase there saving money and you like paying the towel heads over seas for your heat who want to constantly try to kill us. look into history we headed our houses and cooked with wood for YEARS! go back to CA you green people!
You should look into history a little yourself. Life expectancy has nearly DOUBLED since the invention of gas and electric cooking and heating and the elimination of wood stoves from inside the home. 3rd world countries that still use wood for cooking and heating have much higher rates of cancer and respiratory disease. I wouldn't worry so much about your overseas enemies- you are turning your neighbors into your enemies right here at home by your pyro fascination. Weird, to say the least.
people that make comments that don't agree with you must work for OWB mfg's? lol. These comments are made out of concern for a family's ability to keep warm during the winter, and a deep, deep hatred of selfish asses that feel they have rights so broad as to nott be bothered by any action of another; people that whine constantly about viewing and possibly smelling a little relatively harmless woodsmoke.
I heat with wood pellets and a wood stove that respectively put out 2.4 and 4.2 gr/hour particulate matter and exit my chimneys at 38'. That POS 93 feet from my kitchen window and 2' below it puts out 72 gr/hour IF it were burning dry, seasoned firewood.
dcb25, woodchuck2222, 43fastcars -- My guess is these guys work for an OWB mfr. They spam videos of people who are having health and nuisance issues with wood boilers, then belittle them. They have no interest in hearing the real problem, because none of them can see past their wallets. They show more compassion toward mechanical devices than their fellow humans.
I hate people whining about a little smoke, but in this situation, in elizabethtown, ny, that outdoor boiler is way too close to someone else's house to be appropriate.
The most anyone with a boiler should have to do is put up a 15-18' stack to comply with most codes for any other means of heat source. The problem most folks have is they can see the smoke, to bad you cant see all the emmisions that you breathe from your oil burning source of heat or even from automobiles. Wood boilers put out the same carbon emmisions as if the tree were left to rot, it is also the same amount of carbon that the tree consumed during its lifetime. Can you say that for oil?
Woodchuck is right. It's too bad we can't see all the emissions we breathe from oil burning and automobiles. Unlike OWB mfrs., the car makers figured out how to "hide" the smoke in plain sight. It's hard to fight something invisible. Still, OWB's still emit 10-40 times as much cancer causing particulate matter as a modern automobile, so says the EPA, As for trees left to rot, at least they wouldn't be rotting in my living room, which is where the smoke from the OWB ends up.
yeah right city hall then make this family who spent so much money on that owb have to watch their investment (with no pun intended) go up in smoke then they have to find another more expensive heating source such as i dont know oil which heats like crap compared to wood
This really sucks. People should not have to put up with all the smoke and stink. Anyone who says breathing wood smoke isn't dangerous is only lying to themselves. Write your city hall and get your neighbors to complain, too if it bothers them. The more voices that are heard, the sooner common sense returns to our neighborhoods.
Wood heat is the only way to go! All you need is an axe to heat your house. Pretty exiciting video..my favorite part is when the camera shakes and smoke comes out of the flue pipe.
I feel for you and wish you the best in getting back what was once yours........ Clean air to breathe. I have added your video to my favorites and wish you the best in your enduring journey.
Why is it that everybody is posting videos of their neighbors boilers? Must be a lot of jealous people out there that can't afford them!!

I'd be more upset having to look at a shed half wrapped in tyvex versus the smoke coming from that chimney.

The smoke, the unfinished building with siding missing, the piles of wood, it shows what white trash can do to ruin a neighborhood.

I say bravo to the person who put the boiler in. It's a great source of heat. Wood heat and smoke is natural. Get over it!
