@SBrandon562 This same helicopter crashed 6 months or so after we rode on it. I verified this by looking up the tail number in an aviation crash database, and then looked at my video again, and sure enough it was the same tail number. There was a big news story about a helicopter that crashed on the islands and they mentioned the same transportation company. I got to wondering if that was the same chopper we rode on, months earlier. I did some investigating, and confirmed it was.
I was just watching Gone in Sixty Seconds and Cage mentions the Vincent Thomas bridge so I went on line and ran across your video. Is it just me or was that chick pilot HOT?
uhm, after u land in catalina, what did you do? and how far is it to the town or sights?(do i have to rent a car to take a cab in order to get close to the city or w/e is there?? I never been and i plan to go in about 2 months :-) my wife Always wanted to get on a heli and so do I!. thanks man!!
@oneace85 Well, Catalina has a little town called Avalon. Shops, restaurants, miniature golfing, scuba diving and helicopter tours, etc. For me, it's a nice place to relax and take life slow. Pitch an umbrella under a palm tree and enjoy the sound of the waves lapping on the sand. The shopping's not really my thing. But the restaurants are lovely and the sights. Town is a 2 minute cab ride from the heli pad. Avalon is a walking town, b/c it's so small. You'll enjoy it!!!
That was so awesome! It's interesting how at one point we have the mindset that allows us to do things like helicopter rides, airplanes or even walk through a mall. Physically we can do most things but it's the mind that tricks us into believing we cannot.
That is right. It's amazing what our minds can do, both bad and good! When I'm recovered enough, I'm going to celebrate by taking another helicopter ride. I love to fly, so it'll be the ultimate reward! Well, actually, the ultimate reward is getting my life back, but the flight will be awesome.
Awesome, this is the current Police Helicopter for Long Beach.
