This short program is much more artistic than her last season's one. She's very strong in jumps.

there are a lot of things she could improve on. 1. enough speed into her lutz so she can land clean and have enough speed to land the 3 toe clean. 2. centering her spins. they're completed off center. 3. MOST IMPORTANT: her spiral sequence. it's ugly. i'm sorry. she can barely get her leg above her hip. she should take a leaf out of sasha cohen's book

this doesnt deserve first i think she crams everything in and she doesnt actally flow with the music she waited till the last seconds of her program to put almost every spin in so you dont get the full enjoymennt b/c she didnt put the emphasis on each and every move

I agree with pretty much everything FiggRolls said. When I first saw Kimmie at the Olympics I was really sorrowful that she seemed to be the rising American. After our great history of Women's FS it was such a shame to see a girl with little artistry and so-so technical ability be at the top of the sport. However, 2008 Nats showed there is yet another generation of greatness coming into the limelight. I believe the rivalry of Caroline and Mirai will be just like Michelle and Tara's. Go USA FS!

I think that Kimmie is a great skater and has managed to skate at a level which few can ever hope to be at with great success. However I do think that with the upcoming rise of Caroline and Mirai that she will be quickly eclipsed, both in the technical and artistic elements. I feel that a short preview of what's to come was seen at nationals this year, and was reflected in the results.

nice program, but her layback wobbled all over the place and traveled quite a lot. Also her 3 toe in the combonation was cheated at the takeoff and esp on the landing. She would not have gotten away with that this year.

But look at this year MeissnerParis. Kimmie got a dismal 7th place at Nationals. She's basically lost her abilities in skating. Unless she can pull it all together for Worlds (to get on the podium), I'd pretty much count her out.

I think it sucks you get credit for 1/4 turn cheats, WTF is up with that and why? Kimmie gets credit even though she cheats on her jump combinations 99.9% of the time. She should have been 3rd at this Nats, Emily 1st, Alizza 2nd. How the hell did this score so high?????

She always pre-rotates her second triple-toe. I don't hate her as a skater, but Yep, I think its very UNFAIR she gets credit for that. I don't know her in person ofcourse, but if I were her, I would be very ashamed of that very inconsistant, very under-rotated 3 1/2 revolution jump, in which Kimmie calls Triple Axel. Yeah right...

You cant compare scores from the Olympics to Nationals. Hughes and Czisny would not have gotten their scores in the long at an Olympics either, so same thing. Lysacek got a higher score at U.S Nationals then Plushenko did at the Olympics for the long, would that have happened at the Olympics with the same skate, hell no. So silly to compare scores from Nationals to Olympics or Worlds.

Actually, I think Kimmie is better than Emily. Emily has a bad spiral and layback spin too. At least Kimmie is a World champion! Alissa Czisny is just so inconsistent. She's the reason why there are only two spots available at the 2010 Olympics.

its actually meisner, hacker and liang who messed up at the 2008 worlds leaving 2 spots available for the 2009 world champonships, alissa is a really good skater in fact the best usa has compared to other girls,,,she may be inconsistent but is a very artistic and has great potential to be in the top with her great skating skills, spins, spirals, footwork, choreography, ect.

I <3 kwan and cohen but kimmie's the new generation skater i mean idt they can compete with asada kim and ando no skater's perfect and she's still only 17 and her third trip to nationals which she's medaled each time the dress is nice but i liked the skate america one better.

Kimmie is great, my fav. skater. Give her time, she's young, everyone has been bashing her all week, it's all I've heard, you get out there and do it, sorry but it's true. It's not that easy, you have to train hard. She deserves everything she has, she's great, and I love her interviews unlike a lot of others, she is honest! honest is the best policy!
