@noise59 actually there is explanation for this , i have open HTC HD2 not T-Mobile or any other , but what i found is problem that make T-Mobile HTC is SIM card <--- why ? i have card 16 GB and my friend get original T-Mobile version with 8 GB , soon when he change to 16 GB sim card problems started , than i suggest hem to use 8 gb abd speed was just good as new , all errors stoped and all was working fine , usually is sim card that make problems !

1) Turn off your weather update MENU/Weather settings, uncheck -who needs live update.

Well, my hd2 sucks. I have no memory problems, and I was already aware of the task manager trick. My phone is super slow. It won't send picture messages. And it even takes as long as 30 minutes to receive messages. Unless I can get it replaced, or fixed, I'm returning it.

dude shut up this phone did have performance problems, the first unit i had suffered slow down problems even when there wasnt applications opened. the problems was since ui and a fault in ram of the us hd2. the problem however was fix in later unit. so people did have a right to complain that a 1gz phone was suffering from slowdown btw this also has more than half a gig of ram so background apps shouldn't been a problem

@Asia84 you may have a memory problem. best tip for this phone, ALWAYS DOWNLOAD AND SAVE TO STORAGE CARD. device memory is very limited, whereas sd card has 16 gigs. i had that problem too. if you use windows market change settings to store on storage card.

My hd2 doesn't work properly, it's laggy, doesn't make calls, won't access key features and must be rebooted constantly, the task manage helps... minutely.

I've been checking forums to help resolve the issue, some people have the problems and some don't

I'm sending the phone to HTC, as i've spoked with a rep, that would be my best advice, they've admitted that some of the first phones had a few bad batcthes and they're willing to fix them if you send them back. :)

That was such a crap and uninformative video... The reason 6.5 slows down on the HD2 is because its built upon the old windows mobile architecture. In most cases the phone slows down when running just 1 app. The only solution really is to upgrade to the Windows 7 Mobile when it comes out. (hopefully someone would have a working mod by then that utilizes all the buttons on the hd2)

another thing is dont let texts build up, i let over 1500 texts build up and it would freeze evertime i got a text or wanted to do anything, even the htc "sense" kept freezing and i would have to reboot. as soon as i deleted all my texts the phone ran perfect

You can install "Touch X Taskmanager", so the taskmanager is on the top right corner of your screen (in HTC Diamond style). You can set: End programs by tapping X or End programs by taping and holding X. Thats a very useful app!

You need to elaborate on your comment. Hard reset the phone, and run stock for a few days. Also try updating your phone through your phone carrier's website as there have many updates even for T-MoUS... The HD2 is not unstable if up to date. I work for a store which sells all phones and we get more complaints about iPhone and Blackberry than any LG, Samsung, or HTC. 80% of the time the issue is the customer not knowing to update or how to use the software on the phone.

Hard reset. You might have several programs starting up with your phone. Run the phone without any extra programs for a day or two. Then when satisfied with the speed, install your programs in one by one to see which one is causing your "slow" problem. Another thing to try is updating the ROM from your carrier (T-Mobile if yours is the same in the video). This phone has already had 3 or 4 updates from T-Mobile US...

Not a good suggestion as it will void your warranty if you do not know what you are doing. Besides, the phone should not be slow out of the box. Flashing a custom ROM is not always the best answer for everyone.

A tutorial on how to use the task manager....How Lame!! The things that really make that phone fast are things like the bsb tweaker, a third party task manager which includes the icon on the top-right corner, something to clean your ram.....and a whole lot more which can be found at xda-developers, like the cookie home tab and others.

- If you use the "X" in the upper right hand corner of the screen to exit programs instead of the home button it will close the application.

- If you in task manager and have a bunch of apps running hit menu and then "End all tasks"

- You can quick link the task manager to the home page.
