@autumndovable Thanks for the compliment! I'd recommend getting a teacher, and my new book Stick Technique, an essential guide for the modern drummer. Most people practice "wrong" their whole lives and never get where they want to go, that's why people like me teach lessons!
@nickheck Thanks. :) And you know, we're generally taught that it's a rule to keep all four fingers on the stick at all times, but ultimately there will be exceptions. A lot of those beats are fast enough that there's no way the pinkie could possibly track with the stick. Other times the pinkies would just add too much pressure and bulk where maximum finesse is needed. I'm sticking to my pinkies` performance!
