  • Is the bec in it you didn't show how to install it. Please answer I'm wondering if I have to get a bec for mine. I'm running lights and winch plus the basics.

  • @DeadSnowRC Sorry for this confusion. When I started the video series I show the BEC, once I got to the soldering video I wanted to keep it simple for those new and didn't want to add the confusion of the BEC. If the electronics are all not to high end then you should be ok without the BEC, however for the money it is a good option to add.

    Hopet his helps.

  • Awesome footage .. and angles .... NIce build indeed.

  • @mahalkolico Thanks for much. Had great fun building this truck and running on the course. I must make a new video of this truck running soon.

  • @2:36 I was waiting to hear: (Whispered) "Here, the Honcho is patiently awaiting it's pray" LOL

  • @aceofaxe LOL nice one. In its hiding place in the woods - its favourite place :-)

  • Great video series, will be buying kit very soon. Where is the best place/site to look at for upgrade parts and spares?

  • Awesome crawling grounds you have there!! Truck is looking great and seems to preform great..Congrats

  • @iridemotorbikes Hey thanks, took some time to make. The sad thing is it had been destroyed by local lads and there is nothing left now, even the tunnels have been vandalised :-( very sad, hence no videos for a while - just starting work on a small course in my garden. This was such a good area to build.

Looks like you have more rocks where you are.

  • Let's see those red rims. They should match good with the red pin stripes. Keep up the excellent video methods. I just bought the new Spectrum DX3C radio (love it) and some 2.2 HPI Sand Throwers for my Bandit..

  • @qwest1000 Yeh I must do a new video on the course with the new red rims :-) they did worth well even with the white lettering. Glad your pleased with the DX3C they make great products.

  • Nice Rig! The photography is HD and crystal clear. My favorite is the "tunnel" run.

  • @qwest1000 Thanks :-) I've changed the beadlock rings now for red ones and look so good. Glad you like the tunnel, was some work making but did make for some interest in the video - must get back there soon and clear the trail after the winter.

  • were was video done love the back ground sound

  • @mojoboyuk Thanks for the support. The background sound has also not been added :-) this is some woods in Wiltshire UK near the A303 road.

  • Thats a well nice crawler how much was the all the stuff u brought(the kit, motor, esc etc)

  • @16zakw Thanks. I guess with all the parts it must have cost near £700-800. Like all good hobbies its best not to add it all up lol

  • Hi Martin! May I ask how you hid the aerial/antennae wire in your Honcho? Looks really clean without the antennae tube showing out of the body.

  • @Danboarding Sure thing. This is running a 2.4ghz system so the aerial position is less of an issue and also being a scaler I'm always closer to it than normal. On this one I have simple wrapped it across the body post towers and alternative is to run in the tube supplied and zip-tie front to back on the suspension towers. Hope this helps.

I have also seen many mount as a mock CB radio - there is a mount to do this in the kit that you can screw to the bumpers of body.

  • @rcBitz Cool, thanks for the info! I will be getting a kit soon and will be building it following your build series. Thanks again, looking forward for more videos!

  • @Danboarding Good luck with the build, have fun and shout if you need help. Have a video being edited showing new bumpers for the honcho.

  • cant wait to get my honcho. wheres the upgrade series at?

  • @washburn7x Good luck with your build. I have been testing upgrades and doing some initial filming. Its proved harder than the build as there are so many option and different thoughts so they will be my thoughts on upgrades too. Want to try and not just show what I have done but give a little background and options eg like LED there are many set so show a few and then my choice - I will get there and thank everyone for waiting.

  • what is the ESC you are using?

  • @isoysa If you look at the Build Playlist for this you will see lots of detail. The ESC is Tekin FXR with a 35t motor and running 3s LiPo. Hope this helps.

  • Cool vid.... Honcho is simply one of best RC toys to drive. It is soooo stable in stock and with a little bit of modding It's almost unbeatable. I modded my own TR version with 2,2 Proline Badlines tires (weighted ca 200g each), VP Hurtz Dig, and 4000mAh 3S LiPo placed across chassis behind front wheels for better weight distribution. These few easy mods make it a beast.

  • @jerabekj I agree the SCX10 is the best :-) 2.2 do look good, have a set of ProLine Masher 2000's I may use. Weighted wheels is the way forward to, Also venting the wheels works too, just watch for the deep water. VP Dig, wow, I orderd one and it never arrived :-( gutted.

  • @rcBitz I love sinking into deep water and truly do not want to get water into foam inserts. I used so called "star cut" of foam instead of drilling rims. Simply made "V" cuts all around the insert to let the tire compress more easily. Regarding the VP ... I also had some problems, but their employee apologized (she was ill for two weeks) and send it immediatelly after her return to work (and inserted hand written apology into package too ;-).

  • @jerabekj Yeh I have Star cut foams on the CR-01, don't use that as much now I have SCX10. Thats interesting you had problems too. I really want to order again but it is getting expensive when they get lost :-( have you been pleased with it. Love the wheels on your Honcho, I have a set too but not fitted yet.

  • @rcBitz pleased? ... If you ask about VP itself - yes, I am satisfied with their service. If you ask about dig - It is great! ;-)

  • @jerabekj Maybe I should order again. Did you have to reverse the transmission to fit due to the low body on the Honcho's rear?

  • @rcBitz I think it is worth of another try of ordering. No, the VP dig is made so it exactly fits only on one end of transmission, so you have to turn transmission in order to block rear wheels. Even the dig unit is quite long it fits into Honcho cabin tight with tiny cut (rectangle 2x3 mm for end of servo mount), even with mount for standard size servo (but they make also mount for mini servos).

  • @jerabekj Thanks for all your help, I'll put it back on my shopping list then. I have the mini servo ready from last time so will work with that.

  • Hey rcBitz, wicked car mate..and your driving is impressive as well..anyway, i was wondering if you could give me some detailing tips..i have a losi 1/24 micro trailtrekker and i want to add some body details (roof rack, tent, etc..). Thanks. By the way, im in the uk as well :)

  • @werewulf2678 Its nice to find UK bases fans of scale crawling. I'll look into this scale for you and drop you a PM.

  • @rcBitz yeah, it is..its mostly famous in the states i heard, i hope its gaining popularity though..yes please, if you could help me find..if you cant, no worries..i was thinking of building a roof rack either out of a matchbox or a clothes hanger lol..its the winch that ill have a slight problem with..

  • @werewulf2678 There is a growing community for scale crawlers here in the UK which is great. Hope you got my PM about the items you needed.

  • @rcBlitz haha sweet bro.. wen u think youll get the new vids up ?

  • @camaross92 Thanks, will be a few weeks as waiting for some parts and then need to film and edit. Sorry or this delay and thanks for waiting. So many things to show you all, its where to start lol. I've got some video of it pulling a scale caravan even! just needs some editing work.

  • @rcBlitz right on bud ! Lookin foward to the new vids.

  • @rcBlitz hey bro wen we gonna see the upgrade vids ? :) awesome vids bud.. keep'm comin

  • @camaross92 Thanks for your support. Sorry for the delay. Am working on a scale caravan for a comp in the UK so hope to start filming some upgrades in the next few weeks. Watch this space :-)

  • @camaross92 Thank You. I hope they have helped. Took some video of the Honcho pulling a scale caravan today. Hope to edit and load in the next few weeks. Got some upgrade parts on order :-)

  • nice color scheme.

  • beaut paintjob mate, wanna come scratch it at the rockpark ?

  • Chalk up another thumbs up from DJMEDiC! Someone has seen a lot of RC Adventures.. and is starting to film with some great shots!! :-) 5 stars

  • @djmedic2008 Thanks MEDiC. The best Thumbs up - one from the Master of RC Videos. I'll keep practising :-)

  • Verynice video. I want to get me a scaler now rock crawler. I have a stampede. But ive been wanting to get something for trails too. insted of all out speed.

  • @purplewolfpimp Well you can't go wrong with one of the SCX10 by Axial. Either long or short wheel bases are great. This is then end of a build thread so if you build this may be able to help you. They also come as ready to runs. Slow is the new Fast :-) Have fun.

  • nice job it looks sick

  • @jand2442 Thanks :-) paint job worked out well. Can't wait to get the LED's in so there is light in the tunnel.

  • Nice truck, nice vid, very well done!

  • @Matteomeier Thanks so much. I don't have the same filming skill as you, keep watching you great Bronco video. I've put one on my shopping list now :-)

  • Looks great. Nice build!

  • @OffRoadAdventure94 Thank you, its nice to have it out on the trails.

  • Great Job!!!!

It is always a treat to get it from the bench out onto the trail.

Looking forward to the tuning and upgrade vids.

  • @shcuck Thanks. I'm always keen to get that truck outside and dirty - Its been hard to wait while filming this build lol. I think my work as just begun now the build is done. Thank you for all the support.

  • Congratulation, my friend! It was a great video series, i hope, that is yet not the end of it.

Will be coming the tuning series too?

  • @nemethai Many thanks. No not the end :-) I want to get a few packs through the honcho and them start the upgrade. I will also show some of these on the other SCX10 the CF100 Kustom and maybe head the series SCX10 upgrades.

  • Great video series! After driving the Honcho and the shorter wheel base Truck which do you like best. Still not sure which one I want, but I will be watching your videos again as I build it. Can't wait to see what upgrades you have planned for it.

  • @ruger337 This is a good question and one Im sure I'll be asked in the furture. I will run a few more packs and know better. They are different does not help much I realise. If cost is a deciding factor get the CF100 short wheelbase. The Honcho was nice to build as was all Hex hardware against the CF100. Out of the box I think the Honcho impressed the most, after a few mods, wheel weights and star foams I may change my mind - watch this space.

  • Glad to see it all done and taking advantage of those killer trails!!

  • @swas79 Thanks, the trail seams a little bare, things are just starting to grow. A few rocks cracked through the winter and the wire bridge has got damaged - will ave fun creating new parts. This was also the first showing of the tramac section and steep rocky decent . . . more to come :-)
