  • This movies is so stupid and overblown.

  • "How bout....Girl you couldn't bite my wire." lol thats Hollywood for you.

  • Comment removed

  • this isn't even how it happened. just makes me hate this film even more.

  • Did he really stress "higher" so much in the real concert?

  • @wildOthing No, thats part is purely Hollywood lol

  • Sullivan Goon: "You will never play on Ed Sullivan again". Jim Morrison; "We just did". I love Morrison for not giving a fuck about any Authority or Consequences!. It suck he didn't clean himself up. Rest In Peace.

  • Jim for president!

  • That may have been the most retarded and cliche thing i've ever seen. Thats not at all how it happend.

  • ed sullivan sounds like dr evil

  • Alright guys, it's a movie we understand that this wasn't how it "went down", so before you get your pussy wet, movies make everything that actually happened more dramatic, if you haven't noticed, for your entertainment.

  • What a groovy video. I dig.

  • You an watch the actual clip from the Ed Sullican show here on youtube and it was nothing like the scene in the movie.

  • the actress playing ray's girlfriend looks like alot like Nico from a distance.

  • lol yeah this never really happened

  • @tommywm24 what are you talking about theres dvds of the ed sullivan show that shows jim saying higher...

  • thry made morrison look like a douche bag

  • he didnt make it obvious he said higher in real life, he just sang it normally

  • @NewAgeHippie1991 No My father said it.

  • @NewAgeHippie1991 Hold on, Jim said that saying "Higher" was a Accident.

  • this movie is total crap it makes him look like some sort of a drunk

  • @GreatGatsby243 He WAS a drunk, dude.

  • @mplsmn1975 he also didn't even put that much emphasis on "higher" in the actual video

  • @GreatGatsby243 Now that part is true. The real Jim Morrison didn't do that.

  • your Word is your bond - Charles Manson

  • thumbs up if JIm Morrison is a badass!

  • hahaha fuck yeah jim;)

  • this is so stupid. not at all how it went down. and he didn't super emphasise the "higher". in the dressing room, jim just said "well, i'm not gunna change the lyric." and that was that. he sang it normal. this movie makes him look like some ridiculous drunk fucked up asshole. not the jim that really was.

  • @thedarkesthole I'm with you but I think they made it this way so it'll attract people.

  • guys the drummer said we just did the ed sullivan show. dont give ALL the creddit to jim even tho hes my fucking ideal

  • These guys did a great job of playing the "Doors" , they look "hip".

  • Wow, it's crazy to think that this was during the Detroit riots.

  • You'll never work the Ed Sullivan show again.

    We just did.

Morrison, a fucking badass. He never compromised his musicianship, it's too bad we don't have another musician like him now.

  • WOW the women on 0:21 next to Jim Morrison actor her TITS ARE FUCKING HUGE AND SUPER ROUND YOU CAN EVEN NOTICE'S HER POINTY NIPPLES STICKING OUT OF YELLOW SHIRT! XD. But still i the actor playing as Jim is saying in his head "I wish I could suck her f***ing HUGE TITS!" Said The Actor Playing As Jim Morrison.

  • Jim Morrison is the man

  • This movie is the biggest load of bullshit, they totally portrayed Morrison as something he wasnt, this scene is a great example of how much this movie fucking sucks.

  • @Rush1013 thank u u r right

  • ray manzereck BLASTED this scene in his book!!!

  • @MichaelHansenFUN What was Ray's book called? I'd love to read it!

  • @ZenMaster1992 "Light my fire" by Ray Manzareck...

  • yay\

  • Jim morrison is a bad ass!

  • Can you dig that? You dig? Groovy!

  • AHAHAHAH!!! I fucking love this!

  • The airwaves belong to the people. Even if Jim forgot, it was the right move not to pervert the song to suit uptight Ed. A great day for freedom.

  • well how uptight can you get.....don't say "higher".....oh wait I know let's all be politically correct instead. Everybody here's a straight jacket! Nothin has changed really....

  • It would've been cooler for The Doors to walk off Ed's set right then and there, without performing... but no, they disrespected their host in his own house. Just lame.

(And again - love the Doors. Would've been happy to have seen their full show, their way, on their own turf somewhere.) :-)

  • i love the doors and i love jim morrison but nothing cool about insulting your host for no reason. play by ed's rules in his own house, or go home. simple as that. no matter how dumb you think they may be. the rolling stones were truly cool. the doors have the right to their own kind of show... in their own venue somewhere. ed had the right to his family show, the way he wanted it.

  • @tygersflowerz He also had the right not to expect a rock group that features the lyrics, "Mother, I want to fuck you." Did he honestly expect them to play by the rules?

  • @lilburnmafia Ed was just booking the most popular artists for his show. If a group called the Dingleberries had the number one single at the time, he would've booked them. Do you think hosts of late night shows sit down with their musical guests' albums and listen to them back-to-back. They're just hosting a show.

  • @tygersflowerz Ed never asked them to not say it, he had never heard the song it was the network who said not to say it because they are government run systems and the government didnt want kids to hear the word high.

  • Jim Morrison was a champ and he didn't forget he knew... in real life they had rehearsal before and they changed the lyric but when it came time to play live they said it anyway

  • He didn`t change it because he (allegedly) forgot, the movie exaggerated it.

  • Girl you can bite my wire. LOL! Good for him for not changing the lyrics. Ed Sullivan seemed like a real dick and that spokeshole who asks The Doors to change their lyrics is such a brown-nose.

  • I LOVE YOU JIM! Fucking man!

  • I'm sorry, but this is overacted. I've seen the Sullivan clip, and the way that Jim sang "Girl we couldn't get much higher" wasn't very different from the way he would normally sing it. In this, Kilmer pretty much screams it like a middle finger straight to the control booth. Sorry, but I prefer accuracy to Hollywood sensationalism any day.

  • @thewriter1008 I know it's completely inaccurate, but I find this version actually better (please don't kill me, let me explain). The reason is, it's more entertaining, honestly. It makes me laugh. I mean, you can see the band smiling at the line in the actual video, and knowing he wasn't supposed to say it does make it funny, but this makes for a better film. A lot of things in the film are like that - inaccurate, but more entertaining. That's why I like the film, actually.

  • I absolutely love how Jim looks straight into the camera as he sings that lyric, but I saw the original performance and Jim just kept his eyes closed most of the song. I still adore Jim for still singing it though.

  • does anybody know what the stones changed when they played on sullivan? also what did he do at 2:45? i cant tell

  • @YouKnowWho2112 The stones changed the song "Let's spend the Night together" to "Let's spend some time together." and at 2:45 they show his bulge......(It didn't happen on the real show.)

  • Comment removed

  • There is only one truthful moment at this scene Robby Krieger's smile after Jim says the lyric.

  • "Girl, you couldn't bite my wire."

I wish that actually happened, Jim Morrison is a God.

  • actually they played riders od the storm 3 years later, so come on baby bite my wire

  • girl you couldnt bite my wire

  • 2:45 what was he doing?:O

  • But he does SOUND like him...

  • Man in this scene he looks NOTHING like Jim...

  • who played the chick with the big boobies?????

  • I'm sure the Doors could really give a shit that they could never play Sullivan again; a classic example of the paternalistic plastic America of the 50s and early 60s giving way to free expression and the final destruction of paternalism and male aggression as the be-all/end-all of civilization; thank God we now live in 2011 with feminine and homosexual/pansexual paradigms rising and nihilistc/masculine/aggressive/war-mongering paradigms of the past being finally relegated to history's trash bin

  • @malevich2007 2011 is not a year we should be grateful for being in. Our music sucks, the style sucks, the economy sucks...ahh! I think I'd rather be in the 60's. Then again, it's all a matter of personal opinion.

  • @Haku92292 I totally agree with that. I thought I was the only one

  • girl you couldn't bite my wire :)

  • The 'higher' part was exagerated but it made me giggle. I'm too scared to watch the movie because it make be really shitty and Jim was to great to fuck up.

  • @synysterjazmyngates nahh the movie was awesome

  • turd sandwich of a movie but that photo shoot scene where val kilmer is posing really lame is hilarious.

  • what did he mean when he said he could see his thing

  • @minerboy45 Back in the day they couldint film Elvis below the waist because his moves were "sexual" so this is besically the same thing lmao

  • @TheRedsfan9 oh lol thanks

  • @TheRedsfan9 ya thats it haha

  • :( RIP Jim.

  • Lean nuestro tributo a Jim, a los 40 años de su muerte, en nuestro sitio en español... Salud, maestro!! Te extrañamos, aunque nunca te conocimos

  • 40 years ago today RIP Jim 12/08/1943 - 07/03/1971

  • we miss you jim

  • It may be exaggerated, but it's still a funny scene.

  • so theatrical 2:34

  • What i hate about this movie is that it's exactly what people expect. I worked as a news journalist in New York in the seventies. Naturally I met a lot of other journalists and I can remember one of them who worked for Rolling Stone. He told me about a Doors interview he did. Apparently Jim seemed very normal. Definitely not this spaced out weirdo Val Kilmer and Oliver Stone created.

  • Whats going on from 2:42 - 2:45? does he like have a boner?

  • val kimmer is NO jim morrison...hesa bitch azz compared to the lizard king

  • .........PWNED!.....

  • jim was the coolest guy ever, he was a badass singer, a cool guy and i dont know why he makes me remember of Indiana Jones

  • Girl we couldn't ge much HIGHER, YEAH <3 :D

  • haha so accurate X) what rebels

  • Okay. To me the best part of this whole ed sully's show fiasco was when they told the Doors that they were never going to do his show again. JIM: That's okay we did it already. LMAO.

  • Really bad movie.

  • Nothing like the real performance, but good movie nevertheless.

  • This clip is hilarious but I seriously doubt that t.v. producers asked a professional rock band to change a crucial, rhyhming lyric, 5 minutes before going on the air.

No band is talented enough to do that, even if they were willing.

  • @MIvarsson99

They did, actually. This is historically accurate.

  • @MIvarsson99 no band is talented enough to replace one word in 5 minutes?

  • @asasassify Clearly you know nothing about songwriting. The word they were asked to replace was not just "a word." It was a crucial rhyming word, that came right before the chorus. Altering it would require changing the whole damn song. You can't fix that shit in 5 minutes....

I guess the Doors agreed with me.

  • "You can see is thing, get of it, get of it," LOL

  • Val Kilmer is better at being Jim Morrison than Jim Morrison.

  • @MIvarsson99 FUCK OFF.

  • That's why Jim kicked ass

  • Although this isn't like the original performance it is a good hollywood rendition, truly enjoyed it.

  • muy buen video :)

  • this movie is fucking immense, i don't see how people think its shit!!

Val Kilmer did was amazing being Jim Morrison, he actually became him, learnt all the lyrics to the songs and loved Jim!

  • Dont blame the actor (Val Kilmer). blame the director (Oliver Stone). he ruined what could have been such a good bio-film about Jim Morrison

  • that girl in the yellow needed to lose her shirt in this movie

  • they were trying to get the point across that him saying that was a big deal, thats why they over exaggerated it, they knew thats not how the original performance was.

  • This movie was a piece of shit

  • girl you couldnt bite my wire!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The way they exaggerated "higher" is so lame. Original performance is much better. Jim was just looking to sing the song his way, not to purposely piss people off.

Ironic how the actor playing the network executive calls Jim a "little shit" over singing the word higher.

This makes me want to see "When You're Strange".

  • @TheOneartist Yeah, I agree. And yeah...When You're Strange is a pretty good movie in my opinion.

  • i love jim morrson he dosent care those are his lyrics and he wasnt taking them out i dont blame him i wouldnt either

  • jim morrison was the origional badass

  • this movie it`s a crap, Jim say that piece of the song in a normal way...I Think they should to make a new movie based on a true story not that shit and with other actors....

  • @Chusito1917 when you're strange

  • oliver stone never lets the truth get in the way of a good movie. watch the real clip of the doors on sullivan. he did the same thing with jfk.

  • @nogoodbastid JFK was also released in the same year

  • who noticed that creepy bubblehead costume passing while that guy is talking to them

    at 1:01

  • @modermeh Oh man!!, I noticed that, I was just gonna post something about that, until I saw your comment. It gave me the chills a little bit :D

  • @babyfacedstar lol me too D:

  • @modermeh

But yet, I can't quit watching it..lol, oh boy! =0

  • @babyfacedstar it still creeps me out too

espiacially when its 1:10 am D: 17 apr

  • lol i like how jim morrison is clever with his lyrics

  • Well, I read somewhere that Morrison was so nervous that he forgot that he had to change the word...and said it anyway...

  • @lalbruiz That's just bullshit

  • @uitje1 Well that is some informed response. So, accordingly to your age and lack of intelligence, kiss my ass and go fuck yourself.

  • @lalbruiz Well, If you know at least SOMETHING about Jim Morrison, you'll probably know that he had an IQ of 149, so he didn't forget just ''something'', like a lyric

  • @uitje1 Wow. you must be a fucking genius....I feel ashamed since compared to you, my knowledge is near zero....at least have better things to do than dream of giving Morrison a bj, as you seem to be dying for...again go fuck yourself and write anything you like, like I care anymore.

  • @uitje1 i suppose if you're going to use someone's IQ to prove something, you should now that a person's IQ doesn't effect their long term memory very much

  • @uitje1 That's bullshit, IQ and memory are unrelated...

  • @lalbruiz Here, I'll settle it:

Morrison said he merely forgot to change the lyric, but knowing his character, he did it on purpose. There, end of discussion.

  • @MrHeitz17 Manzarek insists that the band instantly, unanimously agreed not to change the lyrics and lied to the producers. He also did not put any more emphasis on "higher".

  • The Sullivan Show asked him not to say "higher" cause it insinuated drugs...this is a true story! Jim sang it the way the song was written and Ed Sullivan said the Doors were banned forever - they never came back and Jim could care less!!!

  • @Jany1954 *Couldn't care less*

  • @Jany1954

    He -COULDN'T- care less

  • @Jany1954 Jim couldn't care less.*

  • @Jany1954 And that is why Jim Morrison was so awesome. They tell him to change, and he basically says FUCK OFF!! lol

  • This movie sucked. they made Jim look like such a prick.

    fuck hollywood.

  • @TheBeatles433 But Jim was so fucked up in the head, i think they got him down perfect...

  • @MrCircus177

I don't think of him that way.

if he wasn't on drugs and shit he would be fine.

I don't think he was much of a prick in a way.

  • @TheBeatles433 Ya, but the drugs did get to his head to make him that way.

  • It's so much BS that Robby Krieger said, "no big deal" "just change the word."

On the real video, you can clearly see him grinning after Jim said the word. I'm sure they all agreed to say it. Ed Sullivan was a prick anyways and they didn't need his show.

  • Was the show really live, or did they put it on later like SNL? Did they censor the performance on tv or did everyone hear it?

  • Makes me smile everytime 2:34

  • Johns looks nothing like him in real life

  • John Densmores face is absolutely terible

  • its so freaking awsome how he goes HIGH YAAAAA

    The Doors are awsome =)

  • This movie SUCKED!!

  • In the real performance, Jim didn't add any extra emphasize on "higher' like in the film. They sure exaggerated that.

  • God Val Kilmer was hot.

  • Jim Morrison is the best ever end of story.....Hollywood made him like a bad guy with this movie..... but he will always be great and will always be remembered. Long Live The Lizard King!!!!!

  • That's not true, Jim was a great man with a little problem: He was to awesome for his time.

  • That's not true, Jim was a great man whit a little problem: He was to awesome for his time.

  • this movie is a false image of the doors and jim morrison. he wasnt an asshole and sang the word higher loud and looking into the camera. he sang it as if he just forgot not to say "higher." dumb movie. wanna see a great movie? watch the doors documentary, "when you're strange."

  • well, this is the movie, not a documentary, they needed to do it up a little. and it is pretty reliable story in general.

  • 5 people are the producer

  • Girl. we couldn't much "hiGHER YAAAAAAAAAAA" LMFAO

  • this is so gay this movie is so over exagerated its terrible morrison wasnt like that at all.

  • @NorthPandel everything is exagerated in hollywood.

  • @oBL1TZKRIEGo yes but why the need to exagerate the doors career it was already an amazing story as it was. if u want to watch a real doors movie watch when youre strange

  • It's just a word Jim. Stones changed when they played here...

  • Lol he said "higher" because he was nervous, not to be an ass. Talk about over exaggeration.

  • @Chrisgottschalk2 He said it was a Accident.

  • @Chrisgottschalk2 thank you, you know whatsup

  • It's Johnny Drama in one of his first roles of his career!!! lmao!

  • scorsese should've made this movie

  • the real Pam wouldn't have been all cute n makin jokes about Jim flirting with another girl she would have clawed that chicks eyes out

  • what's with the smoke?! and he didn't even dress like that, let alone sing it that way. the performance was NOTHING like that.

  • <
