My heart goes out to the poor of both sides of the island. To all the instigators. Spain left us for Peru. We were getting along well until Dessalines killed many Dominicans as Trullijo killed many Haitians n Dominicans. F both governments. I'm black Dominican n my brother's dad was Haitian. We Dominicans gotta stop thinking all Haitians hate us. Haitians gotta stop thinking Dominicans are all the same.
"Brutal Military Rule" that's bullshit what we did was nothing i mean nothing compared to the brutality, killing, and colonial enslavement the Spanish did to your people once we got independence from the french we went to help the slaves in the DR fight the Spanish for the land and at one point Haiti and DR were the same land before they declared independence from the Hatians Hence the spaniards took over again and that's some of the reasons today Part of DR is rich and the other half is poor.
I don't care about Haiti. Since the dawn of time they've tried to start shit, occupying Santo Domingo and a forcing us to speak creole. Back during the Trujillo days this whole illegal haitian immigration would have never even started. We need to kick them out, and focus on ourselves.
@FuryoftheSound and stay under the colonial rule of the Spaniards...wow we were the first to gain our independence from the French and we help other nations especially people of Santo Domingo gain their independence, that's why Haitians occupied the island that is the DR today for that period of time, but they ain't want that and kicked the Haitians out and let the Spanish rule again. So go ahead and thank your slave masters.
I'm guessing you're haitian, but no they didn't invade DR to "help" us. Those 20 years were a period of brutal military rule. Whites weren't allowed to own land, so the white dominicans left, and the haitians took the land. The tables will turn soon my friend.
I would like to know what happened to the guy or what the guards did to the guys they were beating on? I want to know if you followed the seen because that was real news developing right in front of the camera. Is this the kind of treatment Haitians are getting from those guards? You have the responsability to report that news as a news man. So, what happened to him?
i don't give a fuck bout them haitians they have always wanted to take over our country people might say that we dominicans racist oh whatever but they they don't understand that most dominicans live in poverty, people in D.R can't even find jobs and to make it worse they get paid very little.
Dominicans are peace of shit, they are racists to their own kind! Dominicans are just as black as haitians, Mulatto my ass! If you are black then you are black, no big deal, if you can help you friend or stranger out then do it with love! Dominicans go on their Banana boats to PR or USA to find the same thing a stable home and place to live, and a better life for their family!! FUCK YOU DOMINICANS
This video is distorted and misleading, gives a false sense of race relations in the DR. It attempts to misinform the world that the DR gov't denies citizenshp strictly on the basis of a dark complexion when in fact it is not not. Unlke the US, DR law stipulates any illegal foreign national who give birth while in transit is not entitled to citizenship. So the issue is strictly a constitutional matter and not one of racial prejudice as the film attempted to convey.
You see how haiti is now ? And how the area is around the border ? If we merge into one country that is what the entire island is going to look like . DR has its own problems already , we cant take the MILLIONS of haitians into our country , what is that going to do ? Its going to cause More problems . we cant be held responsible for their misery, they made caused the deforestation in haiti, its not our responsibility its theirs to try to improve and progress in their country.
Omg ! This is terrible. These conflicts are tearing both Haiti and the Dominican Republic apart. I just dont understand because we are both are on the beautiful island of Hispaniola and shouldn't we be helping each other ?
Why are the people and country of the Dominican Republic being held responsible for the misery of haiti? Why did Jorge Pineda failed to address the lack of help from the Haitian government to help the Haitian people. Why must Dominicans be held responsible for a poor country that isn't their own?
DID YOUR MOTHER BIRTHED ALL THE 10MILLIONS STARVING ONES? ALL ARE STARVING YOU MUST OF FOR SURE KNOW ALL OF THEM..ITS DUMMY LIKE YOU WHO IS SO UN-KNOWLEDGABLE WHO RUNS THEIR STINK MOUTH BEFORE THEIR BRAIN CAN THINK AND THINKING THEY SAYING SOMETHING SMART OR BETTER THAN THEMSELVES.
Hey. there may never be peace between Haiti and the Domincan Republic. At this point they might as well stay on each other's side of the island. Sad and fucked up but true. SMFH
@misshadassah416 Yes, most of the common population of Haitians are dark skinned blacks. Studies have shown that many white people tend to feel more menaced by dark skinned black people as opposed to their light skinned counterparts. The issue of skin tone has always been a problem in many West Indian and Latin American countries.
@Thedarksecret1 Yea colorism does ont exist only in Latin America and the Caribbean but it exists in the USA as well! In Jamaica you have many cases of Jamaicans bleaching their skin! And I am talking about the Black or Afro Jamaicans bleaching their skin! So sad!
@misshadassah416 Well most of the Haitans that are discriminated against in the Dominican Republic are usually those of the darkest skin tones!
IN DR barely anyone is black! To Dominicans, in general only Haitian means black! You have to understand the history and Rafael Trujillo and what he did! Most Dominicans see themselves as something other than black! Also NOT all DOminicans are black! Most are of mixed race!
Also most Haitians have mixture as well! Look at Sarodj Bertin!
@chsn09 see I get all of that, however, if you remember they were once one island so I don't believe for one minute that all Dominicans are of a certain shade or lighter because they also had African slaves. Yes I am aware that some Haitians are mixed also. Thanks for sharing though
@misshadassah416 LOL! Wow...you misinterpreted my comment(s)! I said that the Haitians that are discriminated against in DR are usually those of the darkest skin tones and colors! Dominicans often say that these Haitians are black! In DR it is as if no Dominican can be black! Everyone is something other than black considering that some of these Dominicans may actually be black but they use skin color labels!
@misshadassah416 It is okay! But the stereotypical Dominican is believed to be lighter skinned while ppl think that Haitians are the dark black ones! Ppl are truly ignorant! Ppl think that Dominicans were Europeans that enslaved Haitians! SMFH!
@misshadassah416 And true! They were once island unified under Haitian rule until 1844! The histories and cultures of Haiti and the Dominican Republic are very much intertwined and one can exist without the other!
@misshadassah416 Also I was just saying that most Dominicans are of mixed race! I never specified or indicated that there was a certain Dominican color because mixed race and genetics in general manifests itself in various and mysterious ways no matter the phenotype or skin hue or color! -_-
@misshadassah416 And you are right! Ppl seem to think that anything black, Afro, or African in Dominican Republic comes from Haiti, but that is TOTALLY NOT TRUE! In fact the first slaves to ever land in the Western Hemisphere or launching point of slaves into the Western Hemisphere was HISPANOLIA island and it was on the eastern side which is now today modern day Dominican Republic! The first slaves went to Dominican Republic
I think that the reason why 'racism' always comes to play with this Haitian-Dominican issue is because a lot of Dominicans tend to always bring racial slurs. In a country in which the majority of the people are not even "white" is ironic. Specially when there are Dominicans who are Black and or mix that are the same complexion or even darker than the "Haitians that that they are dissing because of their skin tone" it is extremely ironic.
@SexyDrBitch how many dominicans yu seen jetblack skin tone like almost purple? ive seen only three and 2 are brother and sister and are mixed with haitian and dominican the other one claims to b full dominican, in DR there are more whites then pure black dominicans
There are more blacks and mix Dominicans combined than there are WHITES that's what I am saying and that's what the man in the video meant. Take the percentage of the mix ones and the black ones and place them together, we outnumber the whites. I know plenty of Dominicans who are DARKER or the same skin tones than some Haitians. Just like I have seen Haitians that are lighter than some Dominicans. Not all "Haitians are dark" you know.
Ok regarding very very dark skinned Dominicans, I see it all the time when I go to the country. My family comes from really really dark skinned to very light skinned. The Dominican goes from really really darkskinned, to dark skin, to brown, light, and then white. And not all Haitians are dark, sure Haiti probably has more darker people than the DR but not the entire population. I seen light skinned/brown Haitians too.

@SexyDrBitch my family is very huge and itis like 85% white, cuz of the recent mixing and even still half of the mix people of my family still look white like one of my cuzzins kid is blonde straight hair like me and blue eyes too and the mother of the kid is dark skin like medium brown and curly hair, yu would pass him for a lil polish kid lol he gets that alot
most dominicans arent black the guy talkin knows shit about race, im a white blonde blue eye dominican and most dominicans look like the guy in the video, who is triracial
Most Dominicans are black and or mix, the majority that is and that's what he meant and he is right with that. I am going to have to disagree and say that it varies by REGION. There are regions in the DR in which yes some Dominicans will look like the man but there are other regions in which the majority of the people will be really dark skinned. And regarding Haitians viewing us as whites. There are lighter Dominicans that view themselves as WHITE when they are not.
He is not wrong, the majority of the DR is mixed and or black, if you put that percentages together, there are more mixed and blacks then there are white Dominicans. And that's the truth.
Although I understand that the majority of the Haitians that go into the DR illegally or w.e are really dark skinned. And that's why probably some of us think that all of them are like that which it would make sense but then again like someone said here that traveled to Haiti...not all Haitians look like that.
I never stated that the man is white because he is not. All I am saying is, that there are some areas in the DR in which there will be a lot of people of his skin tone and then in other areas of the DR in which there will be really dark skinned people. It varies by regions is where I am getting at. Then there are those regions in which there are some whites, some mixed ones(some look dark and some look light parts) that live in the same area together.
But saying that the man looks like an average Dominican can be debated. There are people that will claim that the average Dominican looks like Zoe Saldana. I really don't like using the term average because it can give non Dominicans the wrong idea. So I just think it is, what it is, there are Black Dominicans, mix Dominicans, White ones. The shades of the Black Dominicans and Mix ones can vary from dark to light.
You are a white blonde blue eyed Dominican but you know very well that in the DR your look is not the majority. There are some people that look like you some which by some I don't mean a lot either. And again lighter Dominicans in the DR tend to be called "rubios" which is not really accurate since lighter skin does NOT=blonde. Some feel that they are white because of their lighter skin tones although they are just mix(black, white) and come out with light skin.
I know that, I seen people in the DR but some of those that I know are dirty blonded because they are mix. White and Black parent. However, blue eyed, white skin and blonde hair like you are not the majority. But then I do know very few like you said that are like that very few.
@SexyDrBitch and it gets on my nerve too wen a regular white dominican with dark brown or black hair gets called rubio/rubia here like where the fuck they get blonde from like i know this dominican who got that tom cruise look, black hair white and same fine facial features and he gets called rubio like wtf
Word, I am glad you feel on me that. I feel like blondes are those Dominicans that have blond hair(because you know there are those that are mixed and have dirty blonde like you said). And then those that are like you BLONDED HAIR...then you guys are BLONDES. But that's not even the case, I am talking about LIGHT SKINNED Dominicans that are called RUBIO, who do not have white skin they are just light skinned. It like WTF, blonde where? lol
You know there is a Dominican family where I live and let me tell you boy they are mixed as hell. They mix with the black Dominicans and or mix ones. And this lady who IS BLONDE, WHITE SKIN, Green eyes had a baby and the father is a Black Dominican and or mix and the baby came out WHITE, BLOND HAIR and GREEN EYES. The white family members of that family RARELY gets with a White Dominican they usually go with the black or mix ones lol.
Ah mira y te queria decir que tu me caes rebien lmfao. Usually when this topic gets done sometimes there is a heated argument. Yo voy para RD en pal de dias tengo una emocionnnnnnnnn OMG. Dejame irme a buscar videos del aeropuerto Las Americas(Yeah I am that sick lmfao).
this is to answer a statement in the video... Haitians are not all black. Maybe haitians near that border on that territory near the batey in Dajabon are black but in areas like Jacmel, Petionville, Boca Raton, Cap Haitiene, Leogane there are many multiracial people... and i mean many. someone needs to actually get a Census in haiti instead of making assumptions by word of mouth or "visual" accounts
this video is very misleading. the dr is the only diverse country on the island, the only diversity in haiti is among the small upper class...remember that the dr is an ibero-american country while haiti is a west indian country, west indian countries are usually homogenous black while ibero american countries are usually diverse. the french did not mix much in haiti at all
he hit that haitian like as if it were still 1796???... it's similar to how the masters used order the head black incharge to beat the slave for them... people don't really understand the depth of the haitian slave system when the island was called saint domingue... classim and separitism in old saint dominguan society was vast... anyone who was not a european white was put into class levels...
The historical farce played out that Haiti was somehow a rich country, is only repeated so much by ignorants. The rich Haiti they speak about was the slavery driven economy, one that never stopped grinding the black slaves until their deaths from Sunrise till they just dropped from exhaustion in the plantations. A slave in the French controlled "rich" Haiti lasted a year if lucky and strong enough. To their master it was cheaper to replace them, than to keep them healthy enough to work.
@reynaldopichardo I must say though however, DR and even Cuba did lend out their hands to the Haitians during the earthquake massacre unparallelled to that of nearby nations! DR was nice enough to help out Haitians with housing and hospitals and hospitality! They also sent supplies! It was interesting and yet shocking to see at the same time!
@chsn09 yup i was like hi5 DR lol, illegal haitians are just not good atall all theydo is bring dirty living condition and they have a very savage behavior, like wen my aunt rides the bus she says here in DR the haitians push on purpose, maybe cuz the haitians are racist and she is dirty blonde hair green eye and white skin of course, remember why the haitians took over the island, thats the reason to eliminate caucasians, they did it with their racist mentality killin spaniards on the island
LOL wouldn't that make you a pussy If you are going to curse out a Haitian that does not know Spanish cuss them out in English if they know the language to see what "happens". But to answer I think "racism" comes to play with the DR and Haiti when some Dominicans always bring racial slurs regarding Haitians. The irony comes into play when there are Dominicans who are Black/mix and some are even darker and the same complexions of some Haitians. Which it really makes no sense.
When the USA, France ( the whole UK) and the rest of the word starts to allow poor migrants from a destitute country, to cross their borders for the sole action of giving birth in what can at least be called a basic hospital facility; then and only then can they come out to point fingers to the DR!
The DR allows poor Haitian women to cross the border just to have their babies free of charge in our public hospitals, most if not 90% of them overstay this help and don't return home...
@reynaldopichardo Well DR needs to do their part and deprt the illegal Haitian immigrants they feel are a burden and hamper the overall progress and success of DR! Also the Dominican employers who take advantage of Haitians in the country for labor and worknonly contribute to this problem! If they dont want them then deport them, but to be manipulative and use them then stick the pokey up their ass is just downright wrong
when the vast majority of people with pitch black skin and completely african features are illegal haitians, it is safe to assume that a black in the dr is a haitian. dominican black people look nothing like haitians even if they have dark skin
@duartenio you should hear yourself speak. you're clearly someone who hasn't traveled. Honestly the haitians that go to DR are probably the really black ones because they live in poverty in haiti but haiti has its own social class system and they have many races.I visited a few times i have seen it myself. and they are living well, of course someone who is well off is not going to cross a border to cut plantains and farm sugar. Don't make generalizations, i'm dominican and i know whiter haitians
@husky585 high 5 well said. Haiti just like Dom Rep has bad and beautiful places. And not all haitians are black but the mayority is. Petionville in haitiis a beautiful place. But some coons here are ingorent to acknowledge thath
@chsn09 but remember the minute DR deports haitians the U.S like a bitch complains about racism, but i dont see DR complain bout racism wen they deport mexicans, the U.S is really a bitchy country
I think the reason why race always comes up with DR and Haiti is because whenever a Dominican has something to say about a Haitian it is always about their "complexion" when there are people in the DR that have the same skin tone and that are even darker than some Haitians. For example a Black Dominican and or mix one calling a Haitian "prieto" etc etc, it makes no sense if you are the same color or around the same complexion of a Haitian.
@SexyDrBitch well dominicans are hardly the same complexion, and again complexion has nothin to do with race i know mexicans dark complexion and are not negroid they look indigenous
I know that, I have rarely met Mexicans that looks like the ones that the media is trying to portray. Most of the my Mexican classmates that I met through the years appeared "indigenous". Not saying that the "white Mexicans aren't true Mexicans or anything like that but we already know how the media likes to portray only one side of things "sometimes".
"Dominican-born, black children because their skin color (and lack of documentation) prevented them from getting Dominican citizenship."
Which part of their existance made them Dominican? Born to both Haitian parents or not even a single Dominican citizen, will get you that same result, be you American, French or Spaniard living in the DR without a residency/visa!!!
When you make a video that tells both sides of the story, you'll get the credibility you miss by a long shot here and for anyone that's ever been to the DR...
What? Now Dominicans are white with blue eyes and golden hair? LOL!!!
There's palpable Haitian discrimination based on historical/economics underlying issues, but to say that there's racism based on the color of Dominicans and Haitians is showing how ignorant of the DR you really are here...
@reynaldopichardo You are absolutely right although there are two sides to this matter at hand! The issues of history between the Dominican Reoublic go back to the colonial periods! There is still bitterness betwwn the two nations!
@chsn09 Something the film makers fail to add into their pot...
To know history is to understand the present of both nations/people.
Haiti was born out of rejection of slavery and whites, not unity of a single people. This proven further by how their own generals sided later with the same French they initially exterminated on sight. The DR was born from unity and rejection of external rule and taxes. Weird how in 1821 we called the newly free nation "Spanish Haiti" to reflect island unity...
@reynaldopichardo Well let's not forget that Dominican Republic dud in fact emerge from the Republic of Haiti! It is 1844 that sets a precedent and comparative and and analogous relationship between the two factions to which make up Hispanolia and modern day Haiti and Dominican Republic!
@reynaldopichardo Yes in 1821 the Spanish side was declared "Independent State of Spanish Haiti in the Republic if Gran Colombia"! It asked admission into Simon Bolivar's union independence project nominally pending approval but on admission day Feb 9 1822, it was denied admission and Panama was accepted without hesitation!
@reynaldopichardo Racism does exist in Haiti and the Dominican Republic but it is no where as to the extent as that of racism in the USA! There is more colorism but especially classism and that goes hand in hand with race and Moreau color of skin amd or heritage and family and lineage ancestry etc!
@reynaldopichardo Also this situation and issue at hand is complex and is very much reminiscent of the immigration and illegal immigration issue with Mexicans coming to the USA and their treatment!
@chsn09 Exactly! Only that in the US you have the real and palpable racism that still permeates the social/cultural ethos of the American civilization...
Remove the extreme poverty from the legal or undocumented Haitian immigrants into the DR, and you'll pretty much disolve 99% of the problems shown today. The other 1% is ignorant hatred based on old "racism", which will continue to be present in the world for ages to come...
@reynaldopichardo Exactly! Both spectrums and sides to this need to be looked at! People are quick to be judgemental and point the finger at one but meanwhile it is just as easy to do the same to the other faction! We need to address both sides of this
identify the guy as the killer, took him to the street and killed him while Dominican and (Gasp) Haitian community members applauded the street justice, the man later beheaded the Haitian killer as he did his victim earlier as well, giving him the chance of being death before he took his head off, unlike his Dominican victim...
How come this doesn't show in the beautiful video above??
SOBRAN!
@reynaldopichardo this video is shit, itis probably american made, they never show the full story, man fuck U.S americans except the well educated ones
Then they tell us that on May 1st 2009 an "innocent" Haitian man was beheaded in Santo Domingo as onlookers applauded and filmed the actions on their cell phones...
What's missing: The "innocent" Haitian man just had beheaded his Dominican boss days earlier and tried to the same to a second companion of his, which escaped with serious arms and head wounds. The brother in law pursued the man, after the police failed to capture him, found him and made sure to have the survivors and other...
@reynaldopichardo wow SMFH they just got to always criticized my country for racism wen there is none, nobody diserves to die but, the haitian guy killed a dominican so why they didnt put that up there in the video
Wow! Then they tell us that on March 2007 Amnesty international denounces the DR as deeply rooted with racial discrimination against Haitians!!!
never mind that the DR is made up (again) but over 70% racially mixed people, hard to tell who's Dominican or Haitian based on color alone...
There's HAITIAN discrimination for sure, but racial? Just makes anybody that knows laugh! Maybe they should take a look at their home base country in the USA, where people ARE discriminated for their color!
Then they tell us that on august of 2005 13 Haitians were killed in the DR over a two week period...
3 of those were doused with gasoline and set on fire:
A gang of Haitian-Dominicans fighting over their turf on the lucrative charcoal trade in the border were later found to be the authors. Not only that, but the so called victims, were part of another gang producing a large vat of charcoal, from wood they collected by cutting the trees in the protected green areas of the DR...
@reynaldopichardo lol good one man thnx for giving the reasons they count alot, they always say why did the haitian get kill, well guess wat bitch he got killed cuz he killed too, yu take a life away (by pleasure not counting on self defense) get yours taken away too,
Then it shows what appears to be a group of Dominican border guards "beating" on an "innocent" and "disarmed" Haitian man. The context again manipulated evidently, as at the few seconds of the coming into view, one can see the guard arrested the Haitian and the man resisted and even tried to take away the guard's baton from him... As the other guards stood by the Haitian went full resisting against the guard and they jumped in to "reduce' the man into order.
What this 'edited" video fails to show is that over 70% of Dominicans are of mixed race, that's to say color is impossible to use to differentiate between who's Dominican or Haitian... Unless going by how poor they look/dress, where there's an evident divide between the two.
@reynaldopichardo lol even the haitian in the video said, because am black and dominicans are white lmao, thats wat they consider us, i ask haitians, and they saydominicans are white here in DR, btw am a blonde blue eye white skin dominican

DR has its own problems already , we cant take the MILLIONS of haitians into our country , what is that going to do ? Its going to cause More problems . we cant be held responsible for their misery, they made caused the deforestation in haiti, its not our responsibility its theirs to try to improve and progress in their country.

Why are the people and country of the Dominican Republic being held responsible for the misery of haiti? Why did Jorge Pineda failed to address the lack of help from the Haitian government to help the Haitian people. Why must Dominicans be held responsible for a poor country that isn't their own?

misshadassah416 1 year ago
@misshadassah416 Yes, most of the common population of Haitians are dark skinned blacks. Studies have shown that many white people tend to feel more menaced by dark skinned black people as opposed to their light skinned counterparts. The issue of skin tone has always been a problem in many West Indian and Latin American countries.
Thedarksecret1 1 year ago
@Thedarksecret1 Yea colorism does ont exist only in Latin America and the Caribbean but it exists in the USA as well! In Jamaica you have many cases of Jamaicans bleaching their skin! And I am talking about the Black or Afro Jamaicans bleaching their skin! So sad!
chsn09 1 year ago
@misshadassah416 Well most of the Haitans that are discriminated against in the Dominican Republic are usually those of the darkest skin tones!
IN DR barely anyone is black! To Dominicans, in general only Haitian means black! You have to understand the history and Rafael Trujillo and what he did! Most Dominicans see themselves as something other than black! Also NOT all DOminicans are black! Most are of mixed race!
Also most Haitians have mixture as well! Look at Sarodj Bertin!
chsn09 1 year ago
@chsn09 see I get all of that, however, if you remember they were once one island so I don't believe for one minute that all Dominicans are of a certain shade or lighter because they also had African slaves. Yes I am aware that some Haitians are mixed also. Thanks for sharing though
misshadassah416 1 year ago
@misshadassah416 LOL! Wow...you misinterpreted my comment(s)! I said that the Haitians that are discriminated against in DR are usually those of the darkest skin tones and colors! Dominicans often say that these Haitians are black! In DR it is as if no Dominican can be black! Everyone is something other than black considering that some of these Dominicans may actually be black but they use skin color labels!

@chsn09 no I get what you were saying I guess I guess the wording was wrong.

SexyDrBitch 1 year ago
@SexyDrBitch how many dominicans yu seen jetblack skin tone like almost purple? ive seen only three and 2 are brother and sister and are mixed with haitian and dominican the other one claims to b full dominican, in DR there are more whites then pure black dominicans
drgangster809n 1 year ago
@drgangster809n
SexyDrBitch 1 year ago
@drgangster809n
I seen light skinned/brown Haitians too.

drgangster809n 1 year ago
@drgangster809n

@drgangster809n
Although I understand that the majority of the Haitians that go into the DR illegally or w.e are really dark skinned. @SexyDrBitch and the man in the video is not even white he looks triracial like an average dominican
drgangster809n 1 year ago
@drgangster809n
SexyDrBitch 1 year ago
@drgangster809n
SexyDrBitch 1 year ago
@drgangster809n
SexyDrBitch 1 year ago
@SexyDrBitch actually there are many dirty blonde and brown hair dominicans ive seen a lot here, but only seen very few blondes like me
drgangster809n 1 year ago
@drgangster809n
I know that, I seen people in the DR but some of those that I know are dirty blonded because they are mix. White and Black parent. However, blue eyed, white skin and blonde hair like you are not the majority. But then I do know very few like you said that are like that very few.
SexyDrBitch 1 year ago
@SexyDrBitch and it gets on my nerve too wen a regular white dominican with dark brown or black hair gets called rubio/rubia here like where the fuck they get blonde from like i know this dominican who got that tom cruise look, black hair white and same fine facial features and he gets called rubio like wtf
drgangster809n 1 year ago
@drgangster809n
It like WTF, blonde where? lol
SexyDrBitch 1 year ago
@drgangster809n
The white family members of that family RARELY gets with a White Dominican they usually go with the black or mix ones lol.

drgangster809n 1 year ago
this is to answer a statement in the video... Haitians are not all black. Maybe haitians near that border on that territory near the batey in Dajabon are black but in areas like Jacmel, Petionville, Boca Raton, Cap Haitiene, Leogane there are many multiracial people... and i mean many. someone needs to actually get a Census in haiti instead of making assumptions by word of mouth or "visual" accounts

and that a lie few dominicans have haitian ancestry. the dr had its own slaves
duartenio 1 year ago
this video is very misleading. the dr is the only diverse country on the island, the only diversity in haiti is among the small upper class...remember that the dr is an ibero-american country while haiti is a west indian country, west indian countries are usually homogenous black while ibero american countries are usually diverse. the french did not mix much in haiti at all

he hit that haitian like as if it were still 1796???... it's similar to how the masters used order the head black incharge to beat the slave for them... people don't really understand the depth of the haitian slave system when the island was called saint domingue... classim and separitism in old saint dominguan society was vast... anyone who was not a european white was put into class levels...

To their master it was cheaper to replace them, than to keep them healthy enough to work.
reynaldopichardo 1 year ago
@reynaldopichardo I must say though however, DR and even Cuba did lend out their hands to the Haitians during the earthquake massacre unparallelled to that of nearby nations! When the USA, France ( the whole UK) and the rest of the word starts to allow poor migrants from a destitute country, to cross their borders for the sole action of giving birth in what can at least be called a basic hospital facility; then and only then can they come out to point fingers to the DR!
The DR allows poor Haitian women to cross the border just to have their babies free of charge in our public hospitals, most if not 90% of them overstay this help and don't return home...
reynaldopichardo 1 year ago
@reynaldopichardo Well DR needs to do their part and deprt the illegal Haitian immigrants they feel are a burden and hamper the overall progress and success of DR! Also the Dominican employers who take advantage of Haitians in the country for labor and worknonly contribute to this problem! If they dont want them then deport them, but to be manipulative and use them then stick the pokey up their ass is just downright wrong

when the vast majority of people with pitch black skin and completely african features are illegal haitians, it is safe to assume that a black in the dr is a haitian. dominican black people look nothing like haitians even if they have dark skin
duartenio 1 year ago
@duartenio you should hear yourself speak. you're clearly someone who hasn't traveled. Honestly the haitians that go to DR are probably the really black ones because they live in poverty in haiti but haiti has its own social class system and they have many races.I visited a few times i have seen it myself. and they are living well, of course someone who is well off is not going to cross a border to cut plantains and farm sugar. Don't make generalizations, i'm dominican and i know whiter haitians

@chsn09 but remember the minute DR deports haitians the U.S like a bitch complains about racism, but i dont see DR complain bout racism wen they deport mexicans, the U.S is really a bitchy country
drgangster809n 1 year ago
@drgangster809n
SexyDrBitch 1 year ago
@SexyDrBitch well dominicans are hardly the same complexion, and again complexion has nothin to do with race i know mexicans dark complexion and are not negroid they look indigenous

When you make a video that tells both sides of the story, you'll get the credibility you miss by a long shot here and for anyone that's ever been to the DR...
What? Now Dominicans are white with blue eyes and golden hair? LOL!!!
There's palpable Haitian discrimination based on historical/economics underlying issues, but to say that there's racism based on the color of Dominicans and Haitians is showing how ignorant of the DR you really are here...
reynaldopichardo 1 year ago
@reynaldopichardo You are absolutely right although there are two sides to this matter at hand! The issues of history between the Dominican Reoublic go back to the colonial periods! There is still bitterness betwwn the two nations!
chsn09 1 year ago
@chsn09 Something the film makers fail to add into their pot...
To know history is to understand the present of both nations/people.
Haiti was born out of rejection of slavery and whites, not unity of a single people. This proven further by how their own generals sided later with the same French they initially exterminated on sight. The DR was born from unity and rejection of external rule and taxes. Weird how in 1821 we called the newly free nation "Spanish Haiti" to reflect island unity...
reynaldopichardo 1 year ago
@reynaldopichardo Well let's not forget that Dominican Republic dud in fact emerge from the Republic of Haiti! It is 1844 that sets a precedent and comparative and and analogous relationship between the two factions to which make up Hispanolia and modern day Haiti and Dominican Republic!
chsn09 1 year ago
@chsn09 but the island was called la ispañiola lets not forgetthat it emerge from la ispañiola not haiti, spanish were there first
drgangster809n 1 year ago
@reynaldopichardo Yes in 1821 the Spanish side was declared "Independent State of Spanish Haiti in the Republic if Gran Colombia"! It asked admission into Simon Bolivar's union independence project nominally pending approval but on admission day Feb 9 1822, it was denied admission and Panama was accepted without hesitation!
chsn09 1 year ago
@reynaldopichardo Racism does exist in Haiti and the Dominican Republic but it is no where as to the extent as that of racism in the USA! There is more colorism but especially classism and that goes hand in hand with race and Moreau color of skin amd or heritage and family and lineage ancestry etc!
chsn09 1 year ago
@reynaldopichardo Also this situation and issue at hand is complex and is very much reminiscent of the immigration and illegal immigration issue with Mexicans coming to the USA and their treatment!
chsn09 1 year ago
@chsn09 Exactly! Only that in the US you have the real and palpable racism that still permeates the social/cultural ethos of the American civilization...
Remove the extreme poverty from the legal or undocumented Haitian immigrants into the DR, and you'll pretty much disolve 99% of the problems shown today. The other 1% is ignorant hatred based on old "racism", which will continue to be present in the world for ages to come...
reynaldopichardo 1 year ago
@reynaldopichardo Exactly! Both spectrums and sides to this need to be looked at! People are quick to be judgemental and point the finger at one but meanwhile it is just as easy to do the same to the other faction! We need to address both sides of this
