  • Whoa, I wanna see that scene where Quatrich has the white collar dude in his hands

  • this is so xool, hope the nxt one has more action ..

  • WTF 2:26 ammo is really??

  • @zbryan1412 it's called airsoft gas guns, they are gun made especially for movies

  • so the green doesnt reflect on objects?

  • @OfficialOffice It does.

Take a look at the ground at 0:49.

  • How come some of these scenes aren't in the final movie?

  • @MrFrag09 Cut out so it wouldn't be so long (said it themselves). I think it was filmed to run 3 hours and 38 minutes.

  • its not cool how they cut out the BEST SCENES

  • thumbs up if you watched this because you wanted to see them acting

  • @PUR3xINNOC3NC3 More Behind Scenes. Funny cheers! /watch?v=s1Ne4xCeJEM

  • LLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLL I CAN HAVEE UR ASS IN ONE PHONE CALL

  • Looks like fun being a camera man or director

  • 4:30 i wonder what that scene would have been if it where in the movie????????

  • 3:00 a deleted scene of the navi (?) attacking the base? ow, that would look great to see. The humans got their forces wipedout in the 2nd attack with maybe up to 90% loses leaving a minimal screen to defense the base and mining processing plant.

  • Weird when she said u better muzzle ur effen dog my dog started barking!!! :D

  • Its a shame half these scenes where not included in the movie itself.

  • i want this cameras ;)

  • @T3echnoXXFr3ak you can't, it's bloody expensive, may be 150,000 USD and more.

  • @Emomoz yes, but it would be cool ^^

  • i thought cameron was an asshole on set? he seems quite nice actually.

  • This movie kicks butt, WAY better than the Twilgiht crap! D:

  • Amazing..!

  • "You better muzzle you're fucking dog" - Grace

Great line. I don't think that it will be in extended cut as what people said. :(

Even the scene where Selfridge is confronting Quaritch will not be in it and it will be just a deleted scene. So what new scenes will they add in those extra 16 minutes? More running and jumping off cliffs with the Na'vis? These were some good scenes up there and they added character development.. They HAD to be in the film.

  • @MichaelJacksonFan000 they did not i just wathed the movie

  • @MichaelJacksonFan000 your. goodness how are people so retarded that they can't use that word right.

  • @xxbluejay21 Are you that stupid? Can't you tell that it was a typo? You could clearly see that I spell stuff quite decently and I use capitals, full stops and quotation marks (unlike yourself) and yet you're judging me? You're the retard because you don't believe in the term 'honest mistake' - which is what I made. Get a life, man! Or go be a teacher if you want to correct such small things.

  • @MichaelJacksonFan000 lol thats what i'm saying. noone in their right mind makes that mistake. Only a retard.

  • @xxbluejay21 You've lost it.... :/

  • @MichaelJacksonFan000 lol fail

  • @xxbluejay21 Poor boy, what have they done to you? lol I'm beginning to feel for you now!

  • @MichaelJacksonFan000 aw poor baby

  • F WORD? nice lol

  • I luv watching Stuff like this!!! XD This is Why I want to act! When U step on set, Ur in another world.

  • in this videos it always looks so boring and selfmade lol

  • CLEARLY from this we can see that Catherine Bigalow is a far better director. It was like she married some incredibly talented director who taught her everything she knows and went to the desert and filmed a pile of dirt - WAY more amazing than this technological miracle/visual masterpiece...

  • @RGIRicksGreatIdeas You seem to have misunderstood my point or not gotten it at all for that matter. Let me try this at your level of intelligence. The movie does not need to be overwhelmingly sohpisticated to havew aworthy point or be enjoyable. There are all types of stories and all types of ways to execute them. Try using that thing between your ears a little more often.

  • @RGIRicksGreatIdeas SO WHAT? The complexity of the plot to a movie does not garner it's quality. The MEANING of it does.

  • At 2:42 is that scene going in Avatar Specila Edition DVD?

  • 1:22

This scene will probably in the November release (special edition).

  • I don't remember that bit in the film

  • Anyone knows the cameras that they are using?? The model? Is it a sony, or what, and which sony CineAlta one, or what is it?????

  • I like how they're actully on set.

  • OMG avatar was the best movie i have ever seen it was awesome no joke cant wait 4 the next one 2 come out

  • Its awesome to see this behind scenes hard work, that has been put into the project, so the viewers get the best out of it.

  • 0:48, that's how I pick up the ladies.

  • ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!. That was my reaction on Oscar night. They should have won every award that they could have won. Sam and Zoe got robbed, acting in a scuba suit with ping pong balls all over you and a tiny camera right in front of your face must be insanely hard. And yet the movie was still emotionally gripping.

  • This is not B-Roll material. "B-roll" does not mean 'behind the scenes'.

  • @1415w B-Roll is alternate footage, its what this is...

  • @TheDM75

Alternate yes, but not Behind The Scenes.

B-roll is used to cover for the main shoot, to break it up, and sometimes to cover mistakes.

Man, I love behind the scenes stuff, but it should have it's own clear term perhaps.

    B-roll is 2nd Unit territory?

  • I for one would be absolutely gutted if Cameron doesn't go on to release the extra 40 mins or so that he could. I'm guessing it would take a lot of work as the 6mins he wants to add for the summer re-release will take months to get sorted, but would be so cool if he could add it later for blu-ray/dvd. I'm not normally the sort of person that gets blown away by movies but this one is different, if the released an extended version in cinema, I'd be the first in the queue - sad but true :)

  • James Cameron is amazing. He's in a league of his own, not even Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorcese or any other directors comes close to as what James Cameron has and can do. We're fortunate JC exists in our timeline. I only wished I could meet him.

  • I get the idea that the Quaritch/Selfridge scene would splice in right before Max Patel calls Jake to say 'It's full mobilisation. Quaritch is rolling & there's no stopping him". It explains why Selfridge didn't have the balls to do anything.

At the end we see several armed avatars guarding the line of defeated humans.

They obviously had played some part, because their human drivers weren't leaving. Now we know.

  • its amazing how they created the movie but the script was borderline unoriginal besides the the creatures and worlds. the theme was extremely similar to 3 OTHER MOVIES.thats why it didint win best director or best original screenplay just production design and special effects and cinematography

  • holy shit deleted scenes

  • action!!!!

  • i dont remember that at 1 minute...

  • @zanysazy That's why it's called a B-Roll

  • how the fuck did the Hurt Locker beat this?

  • i dont see those scenes, maybe in the special edition

  • guys, what scene is the one starting at 0:50?? I didn't see that in the movie????????

  • Some of these scenes were not in the movie?? anyone knows?

  • wait, so is sam really paralized............? because he was in terminator and is in clash of the titans.. right? hmm confusing. are they really firing weapons?

  • @twifi101 I really hope you're joking.

  • @WinglessFlutters no.. i'm not. yes, i do feel like a moron. actually, i pretty much am, so go ahead and call me one if you want ;)

  • Hey check out my channel where i'm uploading avatar 2 updates

  • You can tell there seems to be a lot of scene that were deleted from the final film. Some of which seems to actually make the film's story line a bit different. I hope to see this on the special edition blu-ray/dvd this holiday.

  • When did the control room get attacked?

  • @phongbong its a deleted scene

  • @phongbong Yeah man because i'm sitting at the computer scratching my head like "what the fuck" I know i'm not tripping because I saw the movie twice in theaters and didn't see this shit.

  • u people dissapoint me all of u oh hurt locker was better u know what the day u make somethin even close to avatar we will talk.

  • Definitely NOT broll

  • Avatar didn't win Best Picture because:

It's basically Dances With Wolves and Pocahontas in 3d with blue aliens.

The script attempts to be deep and witty, but it's not.

The acting wasn't all that special.

I felt about no sympathy for the characters.

  • @funkynubman uuuuhhh!!!!!! you people eratate me its not FREAKIN POKAHONTAS its like extremely better and diffrient just because there are indians doesnt change anything look i have no idea why your comparing them sure there similar in some ways like the fact a human falls in love with an alien doesnt make them = i mean really does pokahontas have exploding violence good romance and awseome special effects i don't think so.what is ur favorite movie huh hurt locker.......figures

  • @chriscross584: Dances With Wolves Storyline:

A white man is a soldier, and goes deep into the Native's land. He makes friends with them. He falls in love with one. They mate and are recognized by the natives. The white people attack the Natives for the land. The hero is shunned for taking Native sides. He still fights with the Natives, and they win. In the end, the white man leaves his race and joins the Natives and is with his Native lover.

  • haha this isnt b roll. by definition its really just shots that you put in as an editor to cover up things like dead air, jump cuts or just to add effect to a voice over.

sorry for being the editing terms police here haha

  • i loved the movie but i did not know there was this much effort put in to the movie

  • @mrbradze oh u didnt know dnt u think therse a little diffrience between this movie and godzilla 1956 really u didnt notice you didnt notice you might not even NOTICE the sarcasm in this comment

  • Wow, so many scenes that didn't even make it to the movie...hopefully he releases the 40 minute directors cut not just the 6 minutes he is gonna release in theaters.

  • Thanks for sharing and posting. Thanks for all the work. Thank you.

  • Gosh i hope that i eventually get to work on a project like this in my career!

  • 2:26, is that real guns? it comes fire from them

  • I know the scene with Selfridge and Quarich isn't in the movie, but what about the 'spinning disc' thingy?

  • Now that ive finally seen the deleted spat between Selfridgje and Quarich (the rest of the scene on an online script) i can honeslty say it should have never been removed. Its obvious Selfridge didnt want to give Jake a countdown to get the Na'vi out before Quarich and his mercenaries destroyed hometree by force. Quarich was asking for a fight while Selfridge wanted things stay humane under company policy. Scenes like this give more charachter development.

  • who cares if the hurt locker won all the awards?? i dont see the hurt locker bringing in more than 2 BILLION dollars of revenue. Avatar is the one thats bringing all the money and fanbase. a little award means nothing.

  • The hurt locker was one of the worst movies ever ! And I love war / solders movies.

Avatar was a great movie even if it had a reused story. The reason director's use that story over and over is it's a great story that pepole like , that's why all movies like this are big hits. I can't wait for avatar 2-3-4-5-6?

  • Such an awesome movie. So awesome, that I went and saw it twice. :D Can't wait for it to come out on DVD April 22. :D

  • TheArmy19D why????are u serious don`t ask me that man,r u can`t compare a 16 milion budget with a 500 milion budget. So keep your mouth shut

  • Comment removed

  • Poor Selfridge! :)

I hope these scenes will be on the DVD. These are important parts....

  • i love this movie !!! ♥

  • Cool!

  • @prema

That whas a deleted scean, shame that looked good!

  • awesome

  • wow that's cool

  • What scene was 2:41 ? I don't really remember it if it was in the movie.

  • me too i think there were some other scenes that weren't in the movie either

  • Holy shit, it seems such a shame that they dismantle sets after they've been filmed. I mean, how awesome would it be to buy an actual little slice of pandora!?!

  • OK JAMES CAMERON DESERVED BEST DIRECTOR. HE WORKED ON AVATAR FOR MORE THAN 5 YEARS. THAT'S DEDICATION. HE WROTE THE AMAZING SCRIPT. they only gave kathryn the award because they wanted their first woman winner...its all political and thats why the hurt locker won best picture because if you really look at it, the movie is boring and has no plot

  • Naw... the visuals for avatar were phenomenal, and (despite what my friends say), I actually think it deserved the nomination... but the script really wasn't very good at all, and the story and characters, while decent, weren't really oscar-worthy.

  • @sonyaroxxx Are you shitting me? The script SUCKED! If your going to give out movie awards based on how long the director worked on the film, then give out awards to movies like "Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever" which received the shittiest ratings on rotten tomatoes, that took longer than a year to make. Your saying Hurt Locker has no plot!?!?!? I havn't even seen the damn movie but if your backing up Avatar saying it has an amazing story, I'm willing to bet Hurt Locker has a really good plot.

  • @sonyaroxxx THANK YOU. Finally, someone with sense! I totally agree with you. It's great that a woman won Best Director, but seriously, The Hurt Locker was awful. Avatar may not be the greatest film ever made, but James Cameron undeniably did a fantastic job with it and he should have got a lot more credit for it than he did.

  • @xbluerocketx i'm glad we see eye to eye. whatever at the end of the day....avatar blew away the hurt locker in the box office and with the fan approval

  • @sonyaroxxx The Hurt Locker was not that good but it was much better than Avatar

  • @TheArmy19D your kidding right? this movie was in the making for more than 5 years..

  • @lonnyboy101 You would think he would have been able to come up with an original idea in five years

  • @TheArmy19D whats that supposed 2 mean?

  • @TheArmy19D ur crazy

  • @sonyaroxxx I think it was because The Hurt Locker had better direction, writing, and acting.

  • @sonyaroxxx if you really believe that, then you obviously have no clue about movies ... and the script for avatar ... you made me laugh .. the story is IDENTICAL to Pocahontas, just the details are different. Plot is the SAME! And if you see no plot in the Hurt locker then you shouldn't be posting posts like this ... don't get me wrong, this is a great movie, but it got the attention because of how much it cost making it ...

  • @sonyaroxxx yea but when does a piece of metal/plastic/wood really count, its the support the fans give that is the real award.

  • @sonyaroxxx yeah whole true.... and i hate the fact that avatar has brought up billions and everyone talked about it. the hurt locker is good but its to boring to win all that prices.

  • @sonyaroxxx even though i like kathryn i have to agree with you. i didn't like hurt locker and it was all political crap

  • @30secondstomarspunk i like 30 seconds to mars

but ya no wat was way more political, green zone

    big time political

  • @sonyaroxxx its terrible he didnt win the award.. but in the end all the people will remember this movie and not the hurt locker or whatever and think this is the best movie ever.. I bet avatar sells 10 times more than that other crap movie ever will

  • @xxRedRose ur like the first smart person ive found on this comment page. everyone here is like "avatar didnt win because its just like pokahuntus" such idiots dnt u think so?

  • @chriscross584 Well, the story is allike with pocahontas. But the creative input they made with this film is so unique you cant bash it off just for that.

Thousands have seen Avatar, In opposite too pocahontas which ppl define as a kidsmovie. No award is more important than having all those ppl thinking its the best movie ever so cameron wins in the end

  • @xxRedRose Avatar the best movie ever!?, please PLEASE! learn a little more about cinema before saying something that stupid! Avatar is a great spectacle, but nothing more, Cameron always tells the same Clishe/love story, and added with cheap ecologist, and bum! a formula that it will work and it did work because of his comercial succes!(also 200 millions dolars in promoting), Watch Polanski, Welles, Scorsese, Kubrick! Films!Cameron did the images in 3-d but the plot and characters "stay in 2-d"

  • @Gaston088able he just stated his opinion asshole, no need to jump on his throat. And if your so smart about movie making, how about you make ur own movie then? AVATAR ROCKS!

  • @Kivipallur92 and i gave my opinion too...ASSHOLE....who you think you are to tellme that i cant!!!!...go see avatar and others cameron films....he makes films for teenagers!!!!!!!!!!!....ohhhhhhhhhh 3-d.....but his characters and plot are in 2-d......always the same formula over and over!!!!....ASSHOLE!!!

  • @Gaston088able nobody gives a shit about ur useless opinion so keep it to yourself faggot

  • @Gaston088able Avatar wasn't solely successful on its spectacle, for its story wasn't entirely flawed either. It may have been familiar, yes, but there's nothing wrong with that so long as we see something different. With a film like Avatar, we did. Now, granted, it's not flawless, and its characters are indeed very 2-D, but that doesn't exempt the fact that it is a good movie regardless. It meets a lot of standards, which makes up for what it lacked. I get what you're saying though.

  • @Gaston088able It's just not as bad as you've made it out to be.

  • @sonyaroxxx he also did the terminators, and titanic. he got the credit for everything, she got the award, their even.

  • @sonyaroxxx

i disagree. And i am 100% sure cameron DID NOT completely right the entire script by himself. They gave best director to Bigelow to show that you dont need a hundered mullion dollar budget to make a good movie, avatar came off as being too good for its self and praiseworthy. The hurt locker did not have the strongest plot but neither did avatar....I cant relay how many times i have seen a sci fi movie or read a book with them same plot as avatar.

  • @sonyaroxxx I kinda disagree too, I mean how much control can you have over a movie with this much vfx. The script is actually pretty bad, a lot of the dialogue is just awkward while The Hurt Locker had a great script. The Hurt Locker also has a better plot than Avatar does, it' the same plot as Pocahontas. The plot is probably boring to a teenager but really interesting to lot of people. Although, I did love Avatar a lot, I just think it's a tad overhyped.

  • @sonyaroxxx actually fifteen years

  • @sonyaroxxx that and the fact that members of the Academy reportedly hates James Cameron. Rumor has been for years that they didn't take kindly to his "I'm King of the World" speech back in 98' when he won for Titanic.

  • @sonyaroxxx Don't forget he created a whole entire freaking language.

  • @sonyaroxxx worked on a movie for 5 years and it sucked. GG

  • @sonyaroxxx

No no no, James Cameron copy the story of Pocahontas completely.

In one of the featurettes on the dvd he said that he started writing the script in 1995, which happens to be the same year that Pocahontas came out. Just because you guys are James Cameron worshipers, dosn't mean the academy is too, they just happened to like hurt locker. Plain and simple.

  • @sonyaroxxx Yeah The movie was very good but movie critics really hate unorigonal plots.

  • @sonyaroxxx You have no movie taste then. the Hurt locker was amazing, but so was Avatar.

  • @sonyaroxxx the replys u got made sense..hurt locker was indeed an awesome movie....they showed how the armies struggle..and about avatar...it is the best of the best....but the story DOES NOT happen in reality....just like how it happened back in oscar in 2002 between Spider-Man 2 and The Beautiful Mind,.though the beautiful mind was nice....Spider -Man 2 ROCKED!!!..and oscar givers never care how hard or how long the film was in production...75% of them go for the slow, realistic plot movies

  • @sonyaroxxx cool story bro!

  • @sonyaroxxx i agree with u in regards to the best director award being james cameron's but DEFINATELY NOT the best pic award. as much as i loved the movie and the actin and absolutly everything in the movie, the script itself was bordering on the pathetic. if u have seen "the last samurai" for tom cruz then i SWEAR TO GOD u hav basicly seen Avatar as well. the only dif between these two movies was that last samurai was on earth and with humans whilst avatar was on anotha planet wid big smurfs

  • omg avatar didn`t win the best picture THE WORLD HAS GONE CRAZY

  • @dardangashi95 Yeah, too many people focus on acting, writing, character development, originality, and dialouge. Why can't they just focus on the pretty colors?

  • @dardangashi95 Why did it deserve to win?

  • 0:48 -1:20 i didnt see this part in the movie?? Is it among the deleted scenes?

  • it will probobly be in the extended version :)

  • I didnt see it either... it would suck to delete that part it looks badass

  • i didnt see it eather

  • This movie is great !! but if it will be much better with an Avatar 2 ! :))

  • @rohitvip first, stop posting the same comment at different clips, you're obviously just looking for a flame war.

secondly, all dragons are 2 legged, as the wings is considered arms. now if you're talking about they're hexogram, then yes, but cameron stated that all animals more or less is hexogram to make it seem more alien, and foreign.

  • @rohitvip how long ago was dragon flyz created? james cameron wrote avatar in 1996 i believe, most likely before that cartoon.

  • he wrote it in 1994 so that lawsuit against him is pointless

  • This was an outstanding movie! I hope it will win big at Academy Awards

  • MOAR

  • I saw it today in 3D. great movie.
