I started playing guitar when I was 10 years old because I wanted to be like buckethead. Im 19 now and I owe all of my guitar skills because of buckethead. I even got the chance to see him play at a local venue. Thanks B.H.
This version is absolutely brilliant. The fact is, Buckethead isn't even playing anything difficult, but his phrasing in this improvisation is just unbelievable. The vibe between the musicians is so spot on and everything just sounds so nice. As JBOstler posted, perfection!
just goes to show that buckethead is the greatest guitar player around today. he can play ANY style he wants and is mind blowing no matter what he plays. hats off sir.
Dude, I have gone through so many different versions of this to see if Buckethead could possibly soar any higher in emotion, and there simply are none. This video right here conveys so much emotion that words cannot describe it, and no other version can come close. This says so much without saying anything at all, and thats the beauty of it...if I could only have a fraction of his power...
these passages are from page #17 of The Companions of Jehu written by Alexandre Dumas pere--"Sir, I have heard speak of the Companions of Jesus," replied the magistrate with his jeering smile. "The Jesuits, you mean? That is not what I am seeking, sir."....Elisha consecrated Jehu King of Israel, on condition that he exterminate the house of Ahab; Elisha was Louis XVIII; Jehu was Cadoudal; the house of Ahab, the Revolution.
@isiscrushes 'I do not like the reappearance of The Jesuits ... If ever there was a body of men who merited damnation on earth and in hell, it is this society of Loyola's. Nevertheless, we are compelled by our system of religous toleration to offer them an asylum.' John Adams, 2nd President of the U.S.A
@isiscrushes Michael Tsarion is the worlds premier conspiracy researcher/lecturer/author. Dr. Bill Deagle, Leo Zagami, Jordan Maxwell and Alexandre Dumas pere are highly informative as well. p.s. Melting Euphoria is similar to Ozric Tentacles and Gong.
I've never really heard, or rather payed attention to, the bass in this version of the song. But man, it adds just as much as the guitar. Brilliant song for each performer playing. Brain brings in the energy and power, Buckethead brings in the emotion, and the bassist (I assume Bootsy but it might not be) brings in the atmosphere.
BH seems to play so much better off the energy of Brain playing drums rather than Pinchface. Wish Brain was touring with him this year instead of Pinchface. BH is a GUITAR GOD !!
69 dislikes!! ya need ya ears cuttin off. This is Epic, Buckethead to me makes all the other guitarists seem boring, this guy is just in a league of his own, Totally inspiring.

@sdevon90 ibanez rr550cs to be exact, to explain what that is, its and Ibanez Rocket Roll 550 Custom Shop, paul gilbert has nothing to do with the design but he does have a 570 version, which just means hardtail not a tremolo
@3eyedOwl It's an ibanez rr550. floyd rose model, with a dimarzio x2n in the bridge. as I recall, he has used it before, but then he switched to his custom V
this is a perfect example of a true versatile guitarist, sure he can play fast but he can also play a few choice notes that make your heart melt, very well rounded guitarist
Anyone notice all the smoke? Seems like its coming from Brain's drum set, especially at about 1:57. I think his drum set is catching on fire from the pure frictional awesomeness of his playing. And Buckethead's sweet tunes are taming that fire. You know its true. :I
@loljonasfail as JBOstler said the 5150, and the ibanez RR, dimarzio x2n in the bridge, stock neck pup, more than likely his pedal setup in this vid is using a boss od-1 or ds-1, a boss dd4, a boss ns-1, and a bicomprossor. But those are merely guesses based off of the time of this video and my knowledge of his patterns of equipment usage over time. so don't quote me on it by any means.
He is, quite simply, the greatest guitarist of all time. No-one else even comes close. Not Hendrix, not Vaughan, not Gilmour, or the great jazz and flamenco virtuosos - no-one can touch this guy. I am starting to wonder if he is actually God.

@HendrixGuitarGod108 Buckethead's speed isn't really relevant. Hendrix was better as a blues and psychedelic rock guitarist, but Buckethead's music spans many more genres (instrumental rock, thrash metal, pop, classical, jazz fusion, funk, acoustic, ambient, dark ambient, bluegrass, techno, flamenco etc) and I find his guitar playing more moving. I also prefer his improvisations, although admittedly not by much. For me it goes 1. Buckethead 2. Jimi Hendrix, but I acknowledge that it's opinion.
Anyone know whats the tuning for this one? Thanks and take care!
