  • you can see the video right here, why is there argument. You can clearly see Katada is a much much more technical player

  • Katada is a god period. Syu is a solid guitarist but he tends to stick to the same "box" patterns in his solos. Katada > Syu

  • LVl Asian

  • Syu is better, end of Discussion

  • @Galneryus750 lolnotatall

  • Katada solo was f...n inhuman ! I would sell my soul to play like him

  • Whats the song called anyone?

  • \m/.

    that is all.

  • i wanna know what tuning there in lolol xD

  • Matt heafy and oli Herbert are still better than these folks.

  • @falconpunch92 Dude, both of their styles are totally different from Syu's. Not to mention that Heafy borrows a lot of stuff from his predecessors. Syu has a very unique way of combining speed, ability, and melody. He's refined it, too. Heafy is good is his own right, but it's hard to distinguish a lot of what he has to offer from any number of solid players. Secondly, even if you were right, you have to acknowledge these guitarists' abilities too. It's bad form.

  • Megaman X9 fian boss music can be??

  • i just shat my pants.

  • @MegaHappyKorean Haha, a bit of a Me Gusta moment for ya? ;p

  • Q cosas mas hermosa :3

  • shredding is boring as fuck, it just sounds like someone going up and down scales, no time for cool phrasing

  • Looks cool, sounds bad. Oh and the beginning does sound exactly like Slayer.

  • The comment right below me is ignorant(Warning this may change if the guy below me deletes his comment)

  • It's all scales masturbation.

  • syu is good, but satoshi katada owns!

  • Good ol' syu... too bad hes gone to the mainstream side of the force...

  • in the 0:32 sounds like slipknot style

  • synchronize tapping!!!!

  • what the hell was that dual tapping thing????? that was just INSANE

  • Satoshi katada le rompio la madre ah syu XD hahahahah

  • wow the begginng sounds thrash!

  • haitoku no inori (name of the song) translated to Prayer of Immorality.

  • それは本当に本当にすごい重かった

  • コスト!

  • 2nd album of spinalcord will release soon, anxiously awaiting

  • Fat Man and Little Boy

  • @SHIZUMIKUN1 i just discovered this song, syu's old group was epic, in think they were auchwitz or spial cord i keep forgettin the difference

  • Now copy this Jan Ackkerman was the first shredder!

  • @fastrfret Whoever it was, I bet he was Swedish or German.

  • Why does everyone always compare things that artists like Syu or pretty much any artist in Japan to things the Americans came out with? Why does EVERYTHING have to be "copied" or "just like" some random metal band's work. People who do this piss me off. America isn't the only creative country, jerks. Besides, the Japanese guitarists seem to have more finesse than the random metal bands people point out.

    Oh yeah. <3 Syu.

  • @NaotoRuder Not everyone says they copied. And I don't think ANYONE said that America is the only creative country.

  • @NaotoRuder Agree with you,syu is one of those guitarrists that can make you cry with his solos.

  • @NaotoRuder This started in America, but Japanese are creative !

  • @Realmetalriffs What started in America?

  • @highlands the history of rock and metal...all that was in america at first ,got it?

  • @Realmetalriffs Nope, metal very definitely started in Great Britain. That's not to say there weren't bands playing some heavy songs before that, in the blues rock genre in the UK and psychadelic movement in the US for instance but the first bands to be squarely heavy metal were undoubtedly British, got it?

  • @highlands True ! for example ,Judas priest,The clash,Black sabath....

but wht im saying is ,this kind of metal was develloped in US during the 80s with GnR and Metallica ......

I actullay agree with wht u said at first.and one thing..there are famous old metal bands from japan as well that played a great role in th history of Metal ...Loudness for example and Xjapan...u may not get it,right?

  • @Realmetalriffs Actually, I really like X Japan, not really heard much loudness.

The riff is reminiscent of Thrash bands like Anthrax and Slayer but also later bands like slipknot the solo seems more influenced by players like Yngwie Malmsteen, EVH, Gilbert, Vai, satriani, Roth, Petrucci, Warren Demartini and maybe alex skolnick, IronMaiden and al di meola but not too much GNR or Metallica.

  • @highlands Im sorry ,but im not talking about the solo we're having here...im generally speaking.

and as for this solo u'r right,it's pretty much like solos influenced by players u said, but always eastern guitar players give their touch to the solo, some fast tapping and sweaping, and running all diffrent types of scales all over the neck...western players ,they focus on the higher notes....and there's always exceptions . thanks for the new info u gave me.

  • @Realmetalriffs listening to it again there is some master of puppets style riffing. I agree, some of the Japanese guitarists I listen to, like Syu and Hide add real colour to their work. It's definitely unique in so many ways.

  • @highlands I took an other look and there's a Master of Puppets riffing in it,its pretty much at the beggining, with the slides up and down in the lower D string..its cool

  • @NaotoRuder relax, in this world are more than 10000000 songs and oviusly songs can be similar to otherones

  • @NaotoRuder in my opinion i think america is the least creative country.

  • @lordloligator Wow nah america has Metallica so there is no way we are least creative

  • *is blown away by pure awesome*

  • id love it if halfway thru the song, syu just busted out "NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP!"

  • ofcoures i am

    and its my opinion

  • my brain just melted!

  • holly crap that was exelent

haha i think the heavy riffs sound like slipknot or somenthing haha dont know

  • 0:57

    sounds sick

  • First riff sounded like Slayer. Second riff sounded like Children of Bodom/Lamb of god.

  • YOU CAN'T COMPARE THIS BRILLIANT WORK OF THIS GUYS WITH THAT BAND OF ASSHOLES( EVEN I'M CHILEAN AND THE VOCALIST/BASSIST IS TOO)

  • sounds like slayer??????? please slayer is so much for this

  • slayer is rubbish compared to this

  • @jeroenvaneijsden Your Offically an Idiot

  • ¿Como Se llama El DVD Que Trae Estos Duelos Entre Guitarristas Japoneses?

  • 00:13

The karate kids just went nuts.

  • omg this is awesome!+

  • syu is the best period !

  • Jmetal? lol

  • I hated the singer from Aushvitz. Infact I hated the band as a whole but Syu is talanted and Galneryus and Animetal are great (although I can't take either seriously).

  • i haVE SMALL HANDS BUT BIG GUITAR IS EASY TO PLAY THAN SMALL ONESS

  • The beginning sounds sooooo much like Slayer! Japanese people own!

  • @vnalder1234 yeah... it sounds like slayer

  • @vnalder1234 kerry king has not been and never will be nearly good enough to play anywhere near as technical as 0:42 to the end though

  • @vnalder1234 Yet Syu is one hell of a prog-power player as well-decent enough variety.

  • anybody have Satoshi Katadas album Blue Streak??

i swear its not even real......ive looked EVERYWHERE for it.

  • @ACrum615 Yea, I have it. I had to get it imported from Japan. Costs alot for shipping fees but I feel it was definately work it. Its amazing!

  • Syu's hands are as small as mine.

  • @JimmyRichardsGuitar small hands make your dick look bigger ahah just kidding bro

  • @eddieboy1234 I lol'd. Haha. I actually compensate for my small hands with mah penis.

Now, if you'll excuse me... *rocks out* \m/

  • what the FUCK! has dick size got to do with guitar playing?

  • @RoseWood5566:

    SHUT YOUR FACE.

  • I died a little bit when I heard from 0:57 onwards..

  • I just had an eargasm.

  • my god :O !!!!! XD AWESOME

  • i just got ear raped haha

  • i realised the starting is like Undead Knights theme song....

  • without youtube you wouldn't discover these awesome Japanese Guitarist that got their influences from deep purple or Malmsteen

  • @PerfectSins Are you stupid? You don't think any of the popular "neo-classical" guitarists were inspired by deep purple? Do you even know who their guitar player is? God you are stupid. Die please now.

  • @PerfectSins

you are an idiot, the fact that they are better guitar players than Deep Purple doesn't contradict the fact that they maybe influenced by them.

The influences bands are the famous bands, like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Metallica.

  • wow you actually just made a fool of yourself idiot

  • wow you guys are so fucking thick.

I said NAME ONE GUITARISTS OUT OF THOSE PEOPLE THATS BEEN INFLUENCED BY DEEP PURPLE.

see you guys cant. fcking morons. PROVE IT or stfu dumb cunts

  • Try Arsis.

  • Thanks alot man, I Love Arsis, one of my fav Metal Bands now Im going to search more bands like Arsis, maybe with better vocalists, Thanks =)

  • I've got Hizaki/Versailles's tab if you want shredding guitar tabs.

  • Wich HIZAKI Songs??? I Love him

  • I've got Race wish tab and i'm tabbing Heaven's territory

  • @tourokelenac Those are Hizaki solos.....why post here? But that is pretty awesome. XD

  • Deicide have awesome solos..bit more death metal than this though

  • These guys are much better than Dave Suzuki. In fact Syu plays 20 more notes a second, and has far better understanding of musical composition.

  • Death

  • try Necrophagist

  • AWESOME!!!!XD

  • satoshi katada is from blue streak

  • whoa what band are these 2 japs from?

  • Aushvitz/Spinal-cord Its the same band, but they changed it, but some people dont know. The band plays 2 different genres. Visual Kei, and Melodic metal/speed

  • syu is from Galneryus. I don't know the other one.

  • the one on the bottem is a god!!!

  • They are both gods

  • ok thats fucking sick

  • jeah... powerfull and nice =)

  • Thrash MeTaL!!!

  • Someone have tabs for this???

  • the rythem part is pretty easy...

just look at the video over and over

the tuning is DGCFAD (low to high)

  • Yeah I Know the Rythm its easy, but when they do crazy solos since 42 seg to 1:02 its what I can´t play

  • I know right ! its my fav part ... absolutley stunning

  • Sure it's drop D and not C?

  • yes i am sure

  • He's barring his two string power chords. It's drop D.

  • SYUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU! i l0ove him!

  • its not whether how many techniques the guitarist uses, its more of how well he uses them, each guitarist has their own style

  • No. I disagree. Satoshi is clearly the victor in this one. Not that they were battling or anything. Syu just tremelo picked the whole thing. Satoshi on the other hand tremelo picked and sweep tapped.

  • Pretty awesome! That round goes to Syu

  • SYU !!!

  • when ever i watch a video with azn guitarist, y does someone have to talk about herman li? its fuckin anoying

  • it is annoying it's just that they only talk about him cause he's the only recognized azn guitarist

  • nah, these kids just don't know about Akira Takasaki!!!

  • yea that's true but I don't like his stuff much but some dude um his is Haruhisa Duran naito he's awesome his style is like Blues but he shreds like crazy fast to.

  • especially when herman li isnt even THAT GOOD

  • herman is an alrightt guitarist.... not too good but alright

  • THX BRO !!!!

  • thats the name of the band you dumb shit

  • lol:D sry man

  • that was fukin awsome

  • damn! look at satoshis fingers!!!!!

  • where can i get the tabs from this song?

  • por que todos los japos usan esp

  • porque ESP es una marca japonesa xD al igual que Ibanez :B

  • Que pasada de artistas!

  • in austria they'd flame you for the name aushvitz

  • wow i envy their tone so much

  • I envy Satoshi's legato skills

  • i think i just came

  • damn this video is sick ive watched it like 10 times already. lol but its onoly a matter of time until some faget says "its cool but i dont like it because it doesnt have any feeling in it like jimmy hendrix or slash"

makes me trow up, not that they are bad guitarist but that those people are annoying. i love shred =D

  • amzing ending.

  • I heard dragonforce speeds up their recorded songs, which could be true if you listen to the drums.. is this true???

  • they denied it in an interview..

but who knows, i hope not

  • they do not. herman is actually i really good studio guitarist. the band just has no discipline whilst on stage. thus explains why they are drunk all the time and give some mediocre shows.

  • nope its not true xD you can see in the "Making of Ultra Beatdown" that they truly play it at this speed^^ (well its a home making of, but who cares xD its cool, search at yt)

and nowaday they are much better on stage then before, but this is normal or not Grafkid? earlier they were bad xD thats right :D but now, i think they improved really^^

  • badass

  • Dragonforce could never play this lol

  • well i dnt really think it sounds like dragonforce but i agree they cud pull it off

  • wut u guys thumb downed me cuz i said it doesnt sounds like dragonforce and syu and satoshi can pull it off live and dragonforce cant. wow guys are u that stupid?

  • why do you even care about that? are you saying they're stupid for not liking your comment? dude, you posted that comment a month ago. why is it so important to you?

  • uhh cuz i just noticed and they obviously thought that i was saying that dragonforce cud play it but thats not wut i meant. and y do care about wut i say?

  • and here's another thumb down for u!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • i think it sounds like slayer

  • Yeah it does.

    Imagine this drop C.... Destructive

  • orgasmic...

  • yea the riff does but not the solo

  • the solo sounds like dragonforce. but i kinda believe that these two guys can pull it off live, unlike dragonforce lol

  • lol i agree 100%

  • probably at least 100 views from me haha

  • the guitars sound dropped tuned, cant tell cuz these headphones are crap lol

  • that was amazing ...

  • I knew there was a reason I love asian people.

  • LOL

  • man the trippy sounding tap section at the end is awesome
