The dark theme in Majoras Mask, the fact that you can run out of time and have everyone in Termina loses their lives and the ability to transform into Goron, Zora or a Deku Scrub, makes this game stand out so much from OoT which had it's light hearted tale of Bravery. For this reason Majora's Mask is a true successor to Ocarina of Time.

The Moon is supposed to come closer to the Earth then it ever has on March 19th... It's almost as if The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is more of a warning (or omen) than a game.

I have my final exam for this semester in 1 day. My scholarship depends on the grade I get on this exam. One side of me feels optimistic, the other overwhelmed by the impending doom, which as you all could've figured, makes me think of this song.
When I played this when i was 7 I turned on the rumbled feature and when that music played I listened and cried for 30 minutes because it reminded me of my cat that died. Then, when the time ran out my controller rumbled and it scared the CRAP out of me.T T

God will you guys both just shut up? Save statues let you save at that particular moment and time. the song of time makes you lose all of your rupees, items etc. and saves your status. I have no idea what else you two could be arguing about for so long, it's a game save, not much else to it
actually, don't use song of time at the end, and you can play inverted song of time again on night 2nd day to make it go a bit faster. that way you can complete the temple n don't have to wait 3 days to kick majora, just go straight to him.
no, you have to beat the temple the first time, right after you did go fight majora. he's not THAT tough so you don't have to go gather whatever first. you can probably face him straight out of the temple. it avoids having to wait for the door of time to open since it's already near open anywayz from the time you spent doing the temple.
Say I beat Stone Tower Temple. I DON'T play the song of time after that, I wait for midnight 3rd day kick majora's ass then play again and find out I must beat the Stone Tower Temple AGAIN!
why would you have to complete the temple again? you could do it again, you can do every temple as many times as you'd like since time resets every time but you can just complete the last one and go to majora after that. all I mean to say is that you can complete the last temple and majora in the same 3 day cycle. else you have to complete the temple, reset the cycle and wait for it to reach night of day 3 (song of double time speeds it up, but still).

Sigh ok fine. Save statues. But there is a problem. Does it STILL carry on to the next time cycle just because you DIDN'T play the Song Of Time? If you DEFY this then SHOW PROOF!!! Make a video of you either deposit (Or however the fuck you spell it) OR withdrawing showing how much money there is at the bank, using a save statue, loading up the game again AND hitting reset and show it again. WITHOUT CUTTING! If you cut once I will know without trying myself I'm right and YOUR wrong.
just like at the end of OoT the game saves at the end of the credits (or somewhere during the credits or whatever.) if you get pieces of heart before you defeat majora in the same cycle you'll still have them in the next time you start the game. and if you're not convinced about that use a save statue. I could make a vid to prove but to do so I'd have to get it for emulator and play it all the way to the end using a keyboard which I can't be arsed to do. try yourself?
not quite. it saves for you to continue later on, does that not make it a save? after you complete the game you can continue from the statue, no needing to get the mask again. and I still think the game saves after you complete it and sets you back to day 1. can't say that 100% sure but I do think so.

When I played this when i was 7 I turned on the rumbled feature and when that music played I listened and cried for 30 minutes because it reminded me of my cat that died. Then, when the time ran out my controller rumbled and it scared the CRAP out of me.T T

This song is perfect. It captures the very essence of a "doomsday" or "end of the world" theme. I love it. And it's even better with those eerie tubular bells in the background. I wish I knew which software they used to produce these sounds...It's really impressive for what they had back then.

Naruto2091: I agree with your comment. It looks really like that this song was clearly made to match with something like the end of the world, which this time shows the moon crashing over the town. That's one of my favorite video games songs, I also wish it was longer and a bit more repetitive.

God will you guys both just shut up? Save statues let you save at that particular moment and time. the song of time makes you lose all of your rupees, items etc. and saves your status. I have no idea what else you two could be arguing about for so long, it's a game save, not much else to it

actually, don't use song of time at the end, and you can play inverted song of time again on night 2nd day to make it go a bit faster. that way you can complete the temple n don't have to wait 3 days to kick majora, just go straight to him.

no, you have to beat the temple the first time, right after you did go fight majora. he's not THAT tough so you don't have to go gather whatever first. you can probably face him straight out of the temple. it avoids having to wait for the door of time to open since it's already near open anywayz from the time you spent doing the temple.

why would you have to complete the temple again? you could do it again, you can do every temple as many times as you'd like since time resets every time but you can just complete the last one and go to majora after that. all I mean to say is that you can complete the last temple and majora in the same 3 day cycle. else you have to complete the temple, reset the cycle and wait for it to reach night of day 3 (song of double time speeds it up, but still).

Sigh ok fine. Save statues. But there is a problem. Does it STILL carry on to the next time cycle just because you DIDN'T play the Song Of Time? If you DEFY this then SHOW PROOF!!! Make a video of you either deposit (Or however the fuck you spell it) OR withdrawing showing how much money there is at the bank, using a save statue, loading up the game again AND hitting reset and show it again. WITHOUT CUTTING! If you cut once I will know without trying myself I'm right and YOUR wrong.

just like at the end of OoT the game saves at the end of the credits (or somewhere during the credits or whatever.) if you get pieces of heart before you defeat majora in the same cycle you'll still have them in the next time you start the game. and if you're not convinced about that use a save statue. I could make a vid to prove but to do so I'd have to get it for emulator and play it all the way to the end using a keyboard which I can't be arsed to do. try yourself?

not quite. it saves for you to continue later on, does that not make it a save? after you complete the game you can continue from the statue, no needing to get the mask again. and I still think the game saves after you complete it and sets you back to day 1. can't say that 100% sure but I do think so.

cause you didnt save. Save statues are a temp save until you come back on. Song of Time saves your game.
