amazing man! i do a lot of sweep picking and bluesy/jazzy meshuggah-ish improv solos on bass (not on my channel tho) but now i have so much more ideas. u should listen to iwrestledabearonce. the bassist does a lot of tapping, sweeping, and 3 part harmonies (rythm, lead and bass, harmonies standardly being only rythm/lead)

I've learned techniques from so many different players. For example, I've learned a lot from Victor wooten, but I am more of a metal player Than a Jazz player. So, I'll use some of his techniques, and apply them to a metal song. The strange tapping on the video came from years of experimenting.

Thanks for the great compliment. The best thing you can do as a beginner is pick one of your favorite songs and learn it from front to back. It may take some time, but its a lot easier to stay commited to playing a song you like as opposed to learning something like Mary Had a Little Lamb. Which is something a lot of guitar teachers try to make their students learn at first. Also, learn as many scales as possible. It shouldnt be to hard for you since you're already musicaly inclined.
