  • wow, awesome video!

  • man im thirsty

  • Where did you get the bottles?

  • @meerkatlibrarian a great place to get bottles is your local recycling center.

  • The instructions I been following told me to cover mine with a trash bag or keep it in a dark spot, basically out of light, does it really matter?

  • @rappy90 it doesn't need to be in the dark, just no direct sunlight or fluorescent light, to avoid photochemical reactions of the hop compounds. This is to avoid getting 'skunkiness' (think heineken from a grocery store).

This is also why you should bottle your beer in brown bottles, as brown glass blocks the blue light wavelengths and ultraviolet that cause beer to become 'skunky'.

  • That is very neat. Especially watching the yeast go from slow and sleepy to "Weeeeee! Sugar!" and then back to ":::Yawn, I'm tired now." Kind of like kids I guess.

  • i love the music now that's catching a buzzzzz!

  • Cool! Currently fermenting a Checo Pilsner. Little excited as this is the first time I've broke away from a printed recipe and added 1lb of honey. Not sure what it's going to be like. I'm sure I'll drink it good or bad.lol was told 1lb is a good starting point... Small change on taste.

  • ha, great idea man

  • @galanisj Might be dangerous yet, usually people wait until it makes 1 bubble per minute. It wouldn't matter if you kegged it.

  • how long is the actual time of fermentation in this video?

  • @makemebreakme I think it was about 4 days. It was a while ago now.

  • I can't see the trub layer because there's a note at the bottom that says "For more movies, recipes, and a live discussion"

  • @threeseriesftw I moved it to the top, but as it turns out, you cant really see the trub anyway.

  • One of the best timelaps seen on youtube, great video :-)

    Cheers

  • Tasty science!!

  • Nice soundtrack ;-)

  • Great vid.

I love seeing the yeasties go to work!!!!!

    Enjoy your beer, cheers!

  • Dry Yeast direct pitch?

  • @nodogyougay48 I would have to imagine. That was quite the lag time.

  • @andrewt248 Depends what tempaerture you pitch it at and how long it stays at that but I was talking about the video.

  • awesome video. great to see it from start to finish. I need a glass carboy

  • @siborg71 6 gallon 45 dollars not cheap but I'm sure if you go garage sell on your weekend you may be able to find some thats how I got most of my equipment.
