TREND: S/S 09 - Strong brows

This look has actually become my everyday makeup! I just fill in my brows (I've grown them thicker and larger than I used to) with an omega dupe and a taupe pencil and it looks really natural. I totally agree though that you have to wear your hair tied back for this look to work, but because i work in a coffee house I always have to wear it up anyways. I have gotten so many compliments! Thanks for this tutorial. Now if only I can make that Crystal Renn look work for a night out...

I have to say, I really really like this look. It really brings out your bone structure. Although it looks really exaggerated while you're doing it, the finished look seems actually very natural.

my brows tend to bow downward at the tips and everytime i wax them if they take them off (the tips) i look like i have no brows at all. does this look work if the brows angle downward?

REALLY COOL!!! This reminds me of a look I saw in Kevyn Aucoin's book "Making Faces". He describes it as 'The Gamine'. Having the Eyebrow standing out as the strongest feature. He uses examples such as Audrey Hepburn and Pier Angeli. He has Gwenyth Paltrow with the look with beautiful exaggerated eyebrows and her hair pulled back. But anyways, you did an awesome job.

Very interesting. Funny how fashion runs in cycles. I remember during the 70s the eyebrows were very thin and then in the 80s were very thick. However this brow reminds me of the brow in the Dior "New Look" poster of 1948, (btw I wasn't around at that time but spoke to people who told me the brows were getting thicker in the late 40s).

Use a similar colour to your own brow colour and make sure you fill them in softly at the front of the brow. x

I personally love strong brows and think they look good on almost anyone. This look is more wearable though if you go by your natural brow shape and just darken and thicken a tiny bit. Gives wonderful definition to the eyes and face.

you are fantastic at this makeup, you make it look so easy, but we know its not lol. i have mine done by a lovely Indian lady, she is just great at it, she threads them and tints them for me, i have let her do them darker and darker as time goes by, i love my brows now and they do make a big difference to your face. when they have some shape.

Sorry to double post but what bronzing powder or other product would you recommend for someone who is very very pale? Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation in Alabaster/Benefit Foundation Sitck in Jax pale but with yellow/golden undertones? I've tried a few things but my face ends up looking dirty rather than having a healthy glow. Any ideas would be really appreciated. Thanks.
