  • wow....what a treat! Thanks for Posting!

  • WOW he has a wonderful left hand! It is so rare to see the actual preparation in young musicians these days. Hope he has a great teacher to learn everything he needs <3

  • MERECE 1OO BEIJINHOS E MUUUUUUUUITO APLAUSO!

  • He is wonderful!!!

Can you tell me at what age you gave him his first violin? Was it a box or really violin?

  • His bow remind me to Heifetz :D

  • Amazing!

  • WHO IS THE FATHER OF JONATHAN? What is your profession? I THINK THE DAD OF JONATHAN OR YOUR MOM ARE ALSO SOME GREAT PEOPLE

  • @HEBSYBA The mum not.

  • @harrynking777 !!!!!!!!Of course yes !!!!! She bore him, I am a Montessori guide, I know this.

  • Genial!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Much respect for him & his parents for recognising his passion & developing his creativity~ BRAVO!

  • This kid is going to be a great musician one day! Show the world God's glory and use your music to worship him! Put as much passion as possible into ALL your music!

  • ... his bow arm is beautiful

  • Great! It's too bad real talent and work like this is not acknowledged more publicly. Keep it up, kid, and you'll be ridiculously good by the time you are 15.

  • fantasticcccccc, ainda bem que existem tantos gênio ainda criança.Pois nem tudo está perdido. Parabens aos pais dessas crianças.......

  • This is wonderful. So pure and hopeful.

  • Is it me or is Judi Dench playing the Harp.

  • There are some people who innately understand musical expression, and this kid is one of them. He connects notes and phrases naturally, inflects appoggiaturas, has poise and stage presence, and he even takes time!!! Parents- thank you for nurturing the talent and for helping to keep great music relevant (and un-frivolous...)

  • He's Benjamin Button.

  • A truly inspiring musician !

  • his bow skills are btter than mine, gosh!

    hahaa nicely done Jonathan

  • wonderful for his age! more kids need to be like this!

  • SUPER FANTASTICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC

  • I now realise how much of a snob i've been about aspiring violinists... but this kid... he's got something. his right wrist is so fluid and his posture is perfect. and coming from me, that's really saying something. Best wishes for this ball of talent here!

  • your kid is so amazing. he is a prodigy and it is awesome that you guys are exposing him to this awesome music. Wow.

  • BRAVO!

  • no me jodas qe tiene una orqesta pa el solo para tocar ´´eso´´?? madre mia....

  • E is a bit sharp along with other notes, but good job, work on tone quality

  • @ChaozMKW um... he is 3 in this video.... i teach 18 year olds that still struggle with this. I don't think he needs your critique...just sayin'!

  • @9999dgk This reminds me so much of me as a young violinist. Thirteen years in I can say with certainty that I agree... his technique is actually really good, especially in the bow arm. Look at that wrist action!

  • Lil Jonny is meant for greatness!!! He's sooo cute in his lil tux... = )

  • to bad this kid is coming into a world where the arts are not appreciated anymore. programs are being cut left and right. i really do hope this kid goes far in life, and bravo to his parents that let him listen and play this music and support him through all of it

  • Heu... Sa fait 6ans que je fais du violon et je commence juste a attaquer la 3eme position.... Je suis minable devant lui....

  • I wish I had a tux when I was that size.

  • @TheRealrocker74 except it's not a tux...

  • @TheRealrocker74 Thanks for instantly labelling me retarded, I do not think that was necessary. A tuxedo does not have the tails! What he is wearing is called a morning-coat or jacket.

  • @IngallsFan yes it's part of a TUXEDO. Just because it's a tuxedo, doesn't mean you can't have a morning coat or a "jacket with tails". I know you've googled your little research or whatever, but it's still a tux. Just a different style jacket. It is possible to do that you know, it's called different atires. For instance you were a tux with the morning coat for an evening event or something of that nature. A tux with a regular tux jacket would be worn for something earlier in the day.

  • Comment removed

  • @IngallsFan Sorry to be annoying, because TheRealrocker74 was pissing me off too, but that's not a morning coat either, it's a tailcoat. But you're quite right, it's not a tux - almost white tie but not quite. Credentials: forced to wear them all depending on the event at Oxford

  • 4!!!!

  • if I remember correctly, this piece is not in D...

  • j'adore le mini bouquet pour la mini star !!!

  • lol he still sounds little but his performance and bow arm is so wonderful. and to play in front of all those people at 4!!! most 4 yr old violinist cry when they have to perform. GET IT LITTLE GUY!!!

  • when I'll have kids one day they will look up to him!

  • check out that bow arm! Amazing!

  • As the father of a child prodigy I can tell you that it's one of God's amazing wonders to see such talent displayed at such a young age. I wish Jonathan a long and very successful career in music. You can see the joy on his face and that tells it all. Go forth into the world and spread this joy young Jonathan!

  • Jonathan is very talented but what I love about him is that he enjoys it all

  • A truly natural musician, yes a few duff notes, but that happens to anyone, even after years of tuition (I've been playing the french horn for ten years and I still split the odd note). He certainly has the poise and movement of some of the best string players I've met and if he continues with this and his conducting I can imagine hearing of him in the future with one of the great orchestras.

  • Comment removed

  • Hope he learns to conduct and keeps playing as he gets older

  • @Conguero2004 um duh he kinda is that age

  • he looks pro when he plays

  • JONATHAN OKESENIUK-RODRIGUEZ , HAS ACHIEVED "ARETE"=EXCELLENCE

    IN GREEK ANCIENT CULTURE.........

MAY HE CONTINUE TO ACHIEVE "ARETE" ALL THE YEARS AND DAY'S OF HIS LIFE.

    LOVE,

    DR. ESTEBAN "STEVE"TARACIDO, B.B.A.,D.ECON.

  • The word prodigy was invented for you.

  • On the humous side there was a moment of "don't give up your day job" but I loved it. He such a talented little chap. I hope to see the numbers rise to the 5 millon like the PJ performance. What a darling little tail coat. He was so relaxed. His audience were so privileged. What a performer!!!! Well, that's my fix for today. See you tommorow Johnathon.

  • so very gorgeous :) and never have i seen in so young a violinist such a perfect bowing arm! amazing!

  • he is the most darling and talented little boy i have ever seen <3

  • I am amazed at how fluid Jonathan's bow arm is; I have never before been so impressed by such a complete package of technique, passion, and immersion at so early an age. My most humble regards to Jonathan and to those that love and nurture him!

  • this is awesome!

  • I am awe struck!!!!!

  • @Eagleflight2442 No,theyre not deaf, but theyre jealous,or they regret their childhoods(which were wasted for toys and games)

  • just found you and the amazing Jonathan! what a treat! did I see a little sister in another video holding a violin?

  • this kid is absolutely incredible....

  • This children born with a very special gift, I am happy that his parents encourage him...

  • I play the violin and I remember playing this song. But I was about 8 or 9, not four, and I definitely didn't sound this good. This completely blows my mind. What a talented young boy, big things are definitely in store for him!

  • I am jealous I wish I was so talented.

  • Whenever I need a pick-me-up I search for Jonathan's videos. His passion, confidence, joy and positivity are contagious! I have little doubt that we are watching the growth of an amazing musical talent. His ability to feel the music and his excitement at interpreting it is beyond the reach of most adults! Just the way he holds the baton when he conducts and the bow when he plays violin blows me away. I wish Jonathan and his parents a wonderful lifelong adventure of discovery.

  • @lindaw6111 how beautiful :)

  • Jonathan is so lucky to have parents who help give him opportunities like this. Imagine being able to say you were on a concert program at four... Not only that, but I bet he never gets really bad stage fright if he keeps performing like this.

  • @berriesmoothie4871 I don't believe this child will ever have a moment of stage fright. He was born to be on stage!

  • @dziady1 How I wish all children could be the center of their little worlds instead of shoved to the side as many are while the parents watch tv or get high. How I wish all children could have parents who notice their interests and encourage them. How I wish more community groups would celebrate childhood and allow adults to enjoy their talented childrfen., I'm sorry you don't see the joy and positive aspects of this. I am not here to convince you. I'm sorry you are bitter about something.

  • @dziady1 continuing my response, I am sorry that you are hurting and so lashing out, but really, it is not fair to put your biases and your pain on this family. I hope things are going well for you, I really do, and that you can take a deep breath and relax about Jonathan. I am quite sure he is in good hands, and will continue to be treated in a positive and healthy way. Best wishes to you.

  • @dziady1 Your reactions are very self centered and opinionated. Jonathan is expressing true joy, and conveys it to us. I don't know what he will do in the future, whether he will pursue conducting or the violin as a career, but I do know that his parents are following his lead, not pushing him, and that he is enjoying the experience. The joy he expresses is his, is real, and brings hundreds of thousands of people joy. I don't know why you have trouble with that, but don't stereotype, please.

  • @dziady1 Sure, same way parents "push" their kids to go to school, learn to read, count... Kids do not decide any of those things, but you wouldn't criticize a parent who does that right? These parents are making the best of a talent this kid has, which i think it is good parenting! And he is clearly enjoying it. What more can you ask!?

    Basta bambini-scimmiette.

    Jonathan, meglio quando dirige Beethoven!!

  • @dziady1 You have very little appreciation of the process of learning, and of this child's love of music and of conducting. While he is not as "polished" a violinist as he is a conductor, he does enjoy both. Watch him play in this video and you will see his body move with the music and express his enjoyment. His parents have been very clear that they want him to do what gives him pleasure. His instructor says the same. He is far from a "poor kid" but very lucky to have them. Us too.

  • @dziady1 I hope you also commented in other videos of kids singing the abc...cos that probably the parents doing also. Poor kids... Where they asked if they wanted to learn it? Or if they wanted to be filmed? Crazy world the one we live in...

  • What a sweet boy. Obviously the darling of his little community there.

  • cant even read or write... who needs letters, if you can read music!!!!!! xD *thumbs up* jonathan we love you!

  • absolutely great!!!! Jonathan filled my heart with joy and I am also full of reverence in front of his parents, whom I actually don't know; keep up the good work!!!

  • HIS JOY IS WONDERFUL... THATS WHAT MAKES OUR WORLD SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PLACE.

oh and he improved a lot from last year lol~

nice job johnathan.. hope u keep on playing and learning! :)

  • I totally fell in love with Jonathan... his natural appearance, his musicality... Wonderfull! I hope he will enjoy music for the rest of his life.

  • I used to work at a music school and I saw many talented little ones play this piece; Jonathan matches or surpasses the best of them. I love the chance to share about this kid with my fellow grown-ups -- music players and lovers of music -- on youtube.

  • Dr. Suzuki must be twinkling. As a ten-year Suzuki parent, I see in these videos the very joy of musicality that Dr. Suzuki nurtured with his talent education. It is this very thing that he also knew could bring world peace, if only more adults understood.

  • @BTKnowMore (continuing) My daughter is now a sophomore in the Actors Training Program at the University of Utah (with a wonderful singing voice - having been told by her Master Class teacher at the Intermountain Suzuki String Institute a few years ago that she should "SING - SING ALL THE TIME"), and I thought you should know that the rather magical 2nd year Movement teacher, who is also a Zen Master, assigned everyone to watch Jonathan conduct the Beethoven 5th Symphony!

  • Well, first of all this is my all time FAVORITE Suzuki piece. it really inspired me to keep playing. Second of all, I was freaking, oh, 8 or 9 years old when I learned this piece and I started when I was FOUR!

I hope Jonathan keeps his love of music as he grows older. There are some truly amazing opportunities for people who play music.

And perhaps he'll consider switching to viola. ;) Well, whatever he decides to play, I wish him luck!

  • I am simply blown away by Jonathan's talent! I first became aware of him because the American Choral Directors Association posted the video of him as a 3-year-old conducting the 4th movement of Beethoven's 5th. Now I'm delighted to find that his family is encouraging his musical gifts. I hope I live another 20-30 years to see Jonathan mature into the world's greatest symphony conductor. Please let him know that this fan wishes him well. PS Don't forget to be a little boy, too!

  • for book 3 his intonation is great! talented kid!

  • I just watched a bunch of the videos of him, and am impressed by the improvement he shows in intonation, his left hand position, and bow hold. He's a joy! Kudos to you for fostering his obvious enjoyment of music.

  • BRAVO!!!

  • I remember when my big brother played this and I was 7 and I wanted to be as good as him...

I gave up violin 2 years after

  • it is so beautiful the way he moves when he plays.

  • Holy hes like the next Beethoven

  • this vid makes me smile :)

    your son is really talented!!

  • Wow! He's incredibly talented. He's not just good "for his age", but he's a genuinely good musician! Not to disparage the harp player, but Jonathan's timing was definitely more musical than hers. His bow arm technique is perfect as well - I wish mine was as good. If he were playing a larger violin with a fuller sound, it would sound even more impressive. I'll definitely be following his progress and attend his concerts when he's older! Thanks for sharing.

  • Such wonerful progress this year! Cudos to Mom & Dad for providing such a nurturing environment for his talents!

  • "...and if the people find you can fiddle, why fiddle you must, for all your life..,I ended up with forty acres,I ended up with a broken fiddle, and a broken laugh, and a thousand memories, and not a single regret." Fiddler Jones by Edgar Lee Masters

  • 4:09 man is about to clobber the man infront of him.

  • holy shit

  • what talent!

  • He is super cute! Its so beautiful to see a child have so much love and talent for music.

  • Un saludo desde Colombia, Maravilloso talento. Felicitaciones.

  • PLEASE post the bit of video you have of him conducting!!

  • @waka606 It's on facebook

  • @brunir718 What's the name of his facebook account ?

  • His interests, proclivities, passions and abilities point to past life recall.

  • Has Jonanthan conducted an orchestra? I think it's about time. Who is the conductor in his family, mom or dad? He is obviously been highly exposed to conducting. What a blessing!

  • Wow, Jonathan really must have been a violinist and a conductor in a previous life!! I have been playing violin/viola for 20 years now and I can definitely say that he is a born natural. I love how he does his bow lifts! Many of the great players do those kinds of bow lifts. You did a fantastic job picking a violin teacher for him. His position and technique are excellent!

  • Hoping that during their vacation, the family has a chance to do a little recording. Not to be greedy or anything! Hope they are having fun with this snow!

  • @weesook1 Jonathan is having a wonderful time in the snow.

  • @brunir718 Thank you so much for responding. I'm guessing the whole family is having a wonderful time. The kids probably more than the grown ups!

  • @brunir718 Maybe some relatives took some pictures and would like to share them?

  • Who is the woman who accompanies and watches him during the performance?

  • @lexigali jonathan's mom

  • @jingviolin Are you sure? (Maybe it's his instructor?)

  • @lexigali ya.....cuz i'm his instructor who gave him the flower in the end.......

  • @jingviolin

    :-) :-)

Ohhh! Honored I am! What a good job! We want more!!

  • @lexigali thank you very much for supporting jonathan. he is having vacation in nyc. we don't have lessons for couple weeks. i'm sure he is still practicing every day.

  • What an amazing child. So full of joy. May it never end. This is my fix for today. One last thing he looks remarkable like my son. We pulled photos the other day to see how close. Wow! I would loved to have been there for this concert. Has he ever had an opportuniity to conduct a small orchestra in a setting like this? Please post a video if he ever does .

  • Nice job for just 4 years old. He's truly a prodigy!

  • And the bow is perfect! It is even difficult for some adults to have it so straigth! Congratulations! and as some people say in others videos, do your best to let him be as he is, the way he want to express, the way he want to play, conduct, and enjoy!!!

  • Jonathan has a GREAT bow arm. He loves his music and he is going to be an excellent violinist. And a fantastic conductor! Who needs school? Who needs television? This adorable and gifted child was born to music and will live a giving life, conveying his love of music to everyone around him. Congratulations Jonathan and wonderful parents.

    From Lilian

  • WOW HE IS AMAZING!

  • What a joy to watch you perform!

  • He is amazing! And how proud he looks! Thank you for sharing his gifts with all of us fans... <3

  • bravo maestro

  • he is so adorable. can't tell how he reacted after the performance. but i think he was enjoying it during the performance!

  • Did you do that, because of my comment on the conducting 4th movement of Beethoven's 5th symphony? (I said I would highly appreciate for putting Jonathan in a swallow tail in front of a professional orchestra.)

Put I meant for CONDUCTING of course!!

(There are already enough vids on YT with little children on stage but none as a CONDUCTOR)

When there's an orchestra and Jonathan on stage, why didn't he conduct it???

(Or didnt he want to, he very little less happy than on the other vids)

  • as he was entering the stage I didn't notice the violin and thought he was carrying a baton to conduct the orchestra! LOL...but then of course, that wouldn't be so surprising either cuz that boy can (and will) conduct.... and BTW, great job!...that's a lot of improvement from his earlier videos playing the violin.....congratulations Jonathan!! keep it up......

  • @esenuk Computer illiterate here...how do I find his facebook account?

  • Of course one could hardly ask more from a 4 or 5 year old. He outtnes many times and doesn't produce quality sound yet (more or less like me). I prefer to think of him as a future success maestro, which he already seems to be. Can't you find any contacts of a small band orchestra who would try to play under his direction? It sounds like crazy -- but what would you lose anyway? Suggestion: show him some orchestra rehearsals so that he can devolop his critic sense :-)

    Best wishes, B

  • The harpist was great, but obviously they didn't have the luxury of rehearsing together, and she was ahead of him when he changed tempo, making him sound off key a couple places. Still, it's an incredible performance. Jonathan is so focused! and so adorable!

  • @esenuk Please check 'Midori- Variations on "The Last Rose of Summer" by Ernst' on youtube! I hope Jonathan, our little angel, will like it and hope to see him playing this piece with his interpretation one day!

  • @esenuk his Morzart must be also great!

  • Thank you, thank you for sharing this video! I'm almost crying. I've been trying to capture this piece with my cello and never succeeded. He has done it already! The music is in him, in his spirit. He has something in him to want to express. In my favorit movie " Together with you" it was said that to play viollin you need to have bullets to charge. I think he has bullets which are more important than technics. Thank you once again for sharing this video with us. He is so amazing.

  • Bravo!!! Encore!

  • Awesome *-*

  • The word Gifted really applies to this lad

  • He's so serious, and concentrating very hard.

  • This is SO awesome that he has this kind of opportunity, he looks very proud!

I'm definitely a Jonathan fan for life now. =]

  • Did Jonathan enjoy this performance? I wonder how a four year old reacts to it all. How did he respond before and after? He is such a sweetie, and so gifted.

  • @weesook1 Jonathan was so excited he was asked to play. He loved the idea of having the harpist accompany him. His biggest dilemma was deciding if he wanted to perform first or if the orchestra should (as if he had a choice). He enjoyed performing at both concerts & when it was all over you would have thought he would have wanted to go home, but as soon as most of the musicians left the stage before we realized it Jonathan had climbed up on the podium and start conducting.

  • @weesook1 His instructor noticed & started playing Eine kleine Nachtmusik .for him & Jonathan turned to her & started conducting her & his imaginary orchestra.

  • @esenuk How WONDERFUL!!! Both that he had that pleasure and that his instructor was aware and helped him. It's so fortunate that Jonathan has you both as parents and now also has a supportive and sensitive teacher. Thank you for responding (don't suppose you have a video of him conducting the instructor?)

  • @weesook1 We were enjoying the show before realizing we should be taping it. We did manage to capture some of it and we may add it later on in the week.

  • @esenuk How normal that you would just be proud parents enjoying your children. How nice that you would think of us and vtape some. Thank you.

  • @weesook1 Well, one thing is easy to understand: There is no Talent without passion. If you don't like something, you can't be good at it.

  • i played this song when i was little! :D

  • He's so darn CUTE!

  • I think I'll move back to Arizona. I'm missing all the fun!

  • Charming and Delightful! Very impressive bow hand, as well. Jonathan gives hope to the future of classical music. Keep the videos coming!

  • It is a joy to watch Jonathan progress. Thank you for sharing with us.

  • PS His little tuxedo is adorable.

  • What a great job, Jonathan! As he went along and relaxed one could see him enjoy the music. The little glitches will be easy for him to iron out in time. He was amazing to know something that long and complex. Bravo!!!! Esenuk....Thank you SO much for sharing!!

  • I failed to mention he's also utterly adorable.

  • How sweet!

  • your son is utterly amazing for having done that. Bravo!
