  • With all those questions that Jake probably gets about the movie, it's only understandable that he has to be very brief with his answers. But the question he was asked in this interview? Come on, he could have answered it a little more better. I mean his answer had NOTHING at all to do with the question. He could have at least said he's acknowledged or admired the Persian tradition or culture, but being an actor, he was more focused on the character than the background of the story.

  • i like how iranican's card is right next to "reel gay tv". ..lulz

  • Fantastic interview...professionaly done :)

  • im so happy that hollywood is acknowledging persia :)

  • Oh and it's obvious Gyllenhaal doesn't know squat about Persian and/or Iranians from him not answering your question.

  • @ferociousfrankie What's wrong with an actor being an actor? He's not a scholar, and he's not Iranian. You should have a much, much bigger problem with the WHOLE film -- by the producer / director's choice -- having NO IRANIANS! Frankly, a bunch of non-Persians running around pretending to be Persian is a lost opportunity for up and coming Persian actors and actresses!

  • @DelilahZoe The fact of the matter is that putting aside how ridiculous their choice was of not using Iranian actors/actresses and how ridiculous the whole movie is, the artists should do their research prior to engaging in their roles. He dodged her question.

Are you Iranian? Probably not. If you were and you had an Iranian perspective or had knowledge of Persia and its descendants you would also know that films like these tend to be propaganda. Films like 300 and Not Without My Daughter...

  • @ferociousfrankie Everyone knows 300 is propaganda. You're racist if you think a person needs to be of Persian descent to pick that up...duh! You should boycott the movie if you're against the actors, but frankly, I think its totally honest of him to answer that way. He isn't a Persian wannabe. Actors need work, they are the employee. You need to blame the director.

  • @ferociousfrankie He didn't really dodge her question. She asked him "how did it feel to play a Persian prince"? Then she stumbled and added extra questions on top. If you see the situation from Jake's point of view, he's being bombarded with questions, jumping from brief interview to interview in a swarm of reporters, he doesn't have time to answer all of them. It's also probably hard to hear in that crowded area. We hear the question nice and clear because of the microphone.

  • The game/movie lost the minute I heard the British accent on the "Persian" prince.
