The move he did was called "the travel" (its a lame joke yea i know) on a hop step you have to land on both feet or your gonna be able to get alot farther so they ruled that you must land on both feet. refrees don't really call it but don't push your luck on this one
well in the street we call that a hop step and I hate it cause if you try to d up on that, you could push the other guy down cause he's off his feet and be a offensive foul
Wow! it doesn't matter 'which foot he lands on' after the jump because he releases the ball...You don't get a violation for picking up your pivot foot..it's putting it back down that is the problem.
The legality of the move comes from the fact that simply touching the ball does not indicate possession in the game of basketball so if you're in the air before you pick up your dribble you're in the clear when you land to step into a jump. This one isn't even a dodgy looking one.
Actually, he should have landed with BOTH feet. It actually is a travel, since he landed with his right foot first, then his left. Nice move, but it technically is a travel. But since he was pretty quick he was able to to get away with it.
Chill out give him some props, and it wasn't a travel because the ball wasn't quite in his hands when he took that little first step, it was a good move to get to the rim... But i would of dunked
as he's about to "pro hop" he takes one step then lands on his right foot, and then his left foot also touches the floor. that's 3 steps and is considered a travel.
the rules aren't that different, slight variances in college and nba regarding traveling but i know jump stopping is legit in any league down to middle school
nice move.did you see dude just look away once buddy crossed him and scored?he was probably looking at his coach saying ''what do i do now coach?''lol
hey did u find a video on how to do that drive i cant do it i practise but never get it man well tell me if u found one or can tell me how to do it iight peace
gentlemen i konw we all are wondering if that was a travel or not. Here is how it is understood.
NBA 2 count: once the ball is in the possession of the dribbler, they are allowed two steps .
COLLEGE JUMP STOP: if the player is on the run once the ball is in possession, they are allowed to land on two feet.
Bottom line is if he steps without the ball, then jumps while catching the ball, the instat he lands its his first step. If he gathers the ball while stepping he has to come down on two.
nope thats not a travel, he picked up his dribble as he was hopping between the defenders so he can still land with one foot and then another...2 step
he took one step then took to more, if he were to land in a jump stop it would not be a travel but he three steps. thats the rule they may not call it in hte nba but it is a travel
this is NoT a TRAVEL, he lands right foot then left foot, then jumps off his pivot which is the right foot. totally legal, if his left leg would of come off the floor first it would of been a travel.
he jumped off of one foot at aposed to the proper "two foot" jump your supposed to do when u do a power box, haha i dont care its two hard to tell either way hes good
a jump stop and then take two steps.

he traveled, look at the slow mo.
as he's about to "pro hop" he takes one step then lands on his right foot, and then his left foot also touches the floor. that's 3 steps and is considered a travel.
you have to land on both feet for a pro hop
snafu13104 3 years ago 2
its really 2, he jumped then jumped again releasing the basketball
mick5000x 2 years ago
he didn't land on both feet at the same time. so it is a travel.
snafu13104 2 years ago 2
no he land 1 feet down and the other feet down, so that is technically 2 steps. then he shot it. that would not be consider travel.
mick5000x 2 years ago
many nba players did that and don't get a call. Is that really a travel?

yes it was a travel, on a hop stop/prohop yu have to land on both feet at the same time

Yup its a travel. But hes got the skills to split the D perfectly. Its alright to do that only if you know you can finish
DANNUSGAM 4 years ago
it's a travel, a real ref would have called it.
He jumps of one leg (step one) and lands on 2 (step two & three) so that's a travel.
BTW, a guy that drives against 3 defenders isn't good, he's an egoist
