  • He has amazing command over his edges! Awesome control and footwork!

  • What has it made in figure skating new that Plushenko didn't do? Than has surprised?

  • Plushenko is GENIUS, Chan just a little boy

  • I'll definitely be cheering for him in the Four Continents championships tomorrow. Go Patrick!

  • when he skates he is so fluent waw

  • Was that Yu-na Kim's coach at 3:57? This was sucha beautiful performance!!

  • @Zozoluvvs that was brian orser. He's canadian so maybe he was just there or coaching someone else that was competing

  • @citysurfer1 He's Cynthia Phaneuf's coach.

  • I failed to add, I've always been cheering for Jeremy and am so happy for him to get crowned at the Nationals again. But for me, Patrick is like a rare gem in the figure skating world. He is a too special skater.

  • Absolutely stunning program. Chan is definitely one of the most gifted skaters I've ever had the pleasure to watch. Unfortunately, the Canadian judges actually diminish his prowess by posting obscenely inflated marks.

  • @EKevinS

And Abbott at his Nationals scored 90 points as opposed to round 83 points at Cup of Russia for a flawless skate. I haven't seen Jeremy yet but I assume the 7 points difference is explained by that he included a quad in his SP in the meantime.

  • @safransafran012 Yea but the thing is it's the national championships, his scores are bound to be inflated. Chan's scores were inflated throughout the year even with his trashy skates during Grand Prix events.

  • @lordkevinownz

I was referring to just national judges in my previous comment, and comparing scores, that's all.

  • @safransafran012 No, Abbot got 90 without trying a quad in his SP at the US Nationals.

And his LP performance with a single quad and one mistake scored more than 180 points.

Patrick's score didn't so inflated after all, compared with other Nationals' one.

  • @pauliemary1984

Yes, I watched Abbott's performance. Jeremy after the short program said something like ''I didn't score like Patrick Chan at his Nationals but like Chan in normal competition''. Well, I hope Jeremy is not thinking that the US Championships is 'normal' competition. lol Anyway, I totally agree with you about Patrick, he seems to be the quintessential figure skater.

  • simplemente sorprendente!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Gorgeous performance. Chan's skating is more powerful than last season.

  • how did he get approx. 7 points more from last year's sp at WC2011?

Is it the PCS? Technical wise, i didn't see much of an "obivous improvement (to get

additional 7 points)" from the last year and it's also the same Choreography so I would like to know where I can find the marking sheet. :(

Has it been uploaded on Skate Canada site yet?

  • @yi81 he changed the second step sequence(twizzle part).. if you will make the comparison last season his twizzle this season is more difficult.. which i guess, patrick is the only one who do this kind.. review it carefully..

  • @yi81 Also, this is Canadian Nationals. Skate Canada is notorious for massive score inflation at Nationals. (This is not a reflection of how I feel about the skate... this is just the truth)

  • @ZRSchultz

I understand that the scores do inflate a bit in home countries. But, Chan's score was inflated at last year's nationals too(great skating, but scores were too high <just a personal opinion) and then, that score became "the standard" and got the high mark at the Worlds at the same year too. That's what I'm worrying about for the coming up Worlds 2012.

  • @yi81 according to wikipedia Chan only doubled his intended triple axel in the 2011 Nationals. That's already a 5.2 pt difference.

  • Seems like skating this program was just a fun walk in the park for Chan. lol Unbelievable.

  • the artistic mixed with the power... my god, i've not seen anything like this. its like watching a kurt browning with the strength of an elvis stojko... but even better than that. wow.

  • Woooooow

  • すごい!!このプログラムの完成形をみたような思いです。パトリック自身がTake5の音楽になっているようです。

  • @Samanthaxoxo6 'mind bottling' ?

  • One word... PHENOMENAL!

  • He is Figure Skating. I have no words for his awesome performance

  • Thanks for the vid. Congrats for an awesome performances Patrick!

  • Although I've been a bit annoyed at his scores when he makes mistakes, at his best, no other skater can match Chan.

  • @sucsrfeswa haha well said. it is nice to see him skate a clean program every now and again. and he made everything look so effortless, even his dreaded 3A!

  • WOW, that was fabulous

  • wow..this vid shows his one-footed skate from one end to the another end of the skating rink. Simply brilliant.

  • CHAN-TASTIC!! Plushenko is no match....

  • @Taan123 i think plushenko will prob need to beef up his choreography to get higher artistic scores especially with everyone doing all these quad triples around the world. Takahashi's short in japan nationals is pretty nice to watch also.

  • @Taan123 PLUSHENKO CANNOT BE MATCHED! RIGHT
