I admire Dave for both his persistance and his music

he certainly didnt have the easiest life before megadeth( living on his own on 15)

but then to get kicked out of metallica and form an equally big band both in sound and name is quite admirable

metallica and megadeth are both 2 of the greatest bands that have ever been or will ever be.

I'd say the best of metallica was as high a standard as the best of megadeth (eg. holy wars vs. disposable heroes). However, I'd say metallica put out more perfect songs than megadeth did, but metallica also put out way more awful shit (ie. st. anger, half of their 90's stuff) than megadeth ever did.

each band has it's one unique style, metallica featuring great thrash pieces from their firts albums as well as some very nice rock ballads, while megadeth are a moe aggressive and musically more stable band. personally i prefer MEgadeth, i believe they are more talented and not caring about mainstream succes and commercialism, their only concern is making good angry ang meaningful music.

Anyone who really spends alot of time on listening to both of these bands, will learn their guitar riffs, solo's, bass lines and drums will realize Megadeth is overall more talented and skilled. I did this, and I indeed realized Megadeth is more talented and skilled.

BUT that means nothing. The only thing that counts is what you feel like listening to. Man, go listen to Justin Bieber, I dont give a fuck. I listen for myself, not for others.

Mustaine is an unstable rattling thrash fuck up, his vocals are unstable, his guitar playing is unstable, his health is unstable, his band has always been unstable (members leaving etc.). He's a musical mastermind, his songwriting take some steps further than Iron Maiden, Metallica or Slayer... Take time to learn the songs, first impression is never right.

Now go listen to Megadeth with that mindset.
