I seem to remember that death animation only happening if you do something a certain way, otherwise you'll miss it. Or maybe that's only in the earlier versions of the game.
In the voiceless version, you only see Cob's death in the expert mode. In the lower modes, the screen switches to Bishop Mandible while Cob screams, and Mandible gives his quote about changing his stationery.

I don't know why I find Cob so funny, must be his voice. It would be fun to see him have cameos in more SCUMM games.
Mandible's voice is as slimy as a voice can get, and his death must be the most violent death of any SCUMM villain.

Cob's not going to feel so smug after Threadbare points the distaff at his crotch and uses the "twist" draft.
